            It was always easy to spot the new           transfer students among the others           on Beacon’s grounds, as much as           Ruby wished they weren’t. Not for            the fact that they were new students.           However, it was because she herself           had been that student, looking aimlessly           for the right way to get around. Ruby           would never wish such a type of discomfort           on someone.

          That’s why she’d decided to approach the           girl, a bit of a bounce in her heel at the           thought of helping a fellow student out.           She offered her usual dazzling smile before           stopping, using a moment to take in her           appearance. An unusual hairstyle choice,           but still pretty !

               ” —— Oh ! “

               ” Well —— It kinda is, heh …                   But I was just coming over to see if you                   needed some help ! I know the campus                   is pretty big and gets super confusing                   sometimes, so ————                   Do you need help finding your classes ? “

【♥】—- The young one appeared nice and helpful, to Maeve's content. With a breath of relief, she smiled toward the girl in thanks. 

"That would be wonderful, if you could." A small step was taken toward her with a paper in hand. The paper held all the information needed about her classes, although her dorm room was still a question. The disadvantage of her position was that she needed teammates, and the other students had already gone through initiation of receiving their members. Entering as a "transfer student" meant she was essentially dealt the card she was given. Although, it's not as though she would care. 

"I'm just confused as to where..." A pause was given as her finger traces the paper, while she makes an internal process. Personally, despite coming by this school on multiple occasions, she hadn't the slightest as to where to go. "Er... everything is, I suppose. I apologize for causing you trouble, Miss." The duo had yet to exchange names, therefore, she couldn't refer to her guide as anything other than what she saw. 

The trouble has just begun, and she'll certainly go through a mess of trouble in this school.

【♥】—- The mission granted appeared to be doable, at first. Infiltrate the grounds as a student, obtain all the information needed, and then leave. It seemed simple enough. Although, unfortunately, it involved social interaction. Maeve was unconfident in performing the task, but it was necessary, as such was emphasized earlier.

At the very least her introduction to other students was spared as she arrived on campus. That eased her discomfort, but only slightly. This did pose one problem, however: while she was skilled in observation, she failed to mark the campus into memory. That was enough to send her wandering aimlessly and cluelessly. On top of avoiding a certain person, the dangers here were imminent. 

"...?" She noted the approaching frame of a young girl, sporting a red hood and a Beacon uniform. "... Yes? How can I help you?" Adjusting the hem of her skirt, she internally prayed her ears would stand long enough without twitching or moving within their constraints. 

"Is it that obvious I'm new? I suppose I've been wandering a little too much."

Maeve is terribly socially inept. Alongside her strange observing, she fails in recognizing speech expressions, or nicknaming, and just about everything else. Her lack of social contact when locked away certainly has something to do with it. The only contact she had at the time was with adults and Grimm creatures, and neither experience was ever good.

She doesn't refrain from social contact in the least. It more lies in her way of dealing with socializing where she lacks. When speaking with her, one must be very clear and concise, lest she misconstrues someone.

The way that she’s pushing this, taking it totally seriously, is oddly funny to him and he has to fight to stifle his laughter, not wanting to make an entirely terrible first impression. It’s not too often that he comes across another faunus, anyway, and he knows that they face enough scrutiny as is.

"Okay, sugar—you win this one. But I can’t say that I wouldn’t laugh a little if someone slipped on a banana peel right in front of me." He responds, folding his arms across his chest with a smug smirk. It was kinda funny how worked up and flustered she got from his responses, not that she was entirely wrong in what she was saying—his strongest argument that he simply didn’t care, and that was throwing her off a little as far as he could tell.

He’s a little surprised that she’s still willing to talk to him after they’ve butted heads like this, but the patience is greatly appreciated even if she can’t tell. “Introductions, huh? You don’t have someone else to go talk into changing their ways?" He teases, stepping closer and offering a hand for her to shake regardless, "Name’s Sun."

【♥】—- Just what was this oddity? It was a feeling that could be classified as embarrassment, yet, she seldom ever felt such emotions. Just what was it about him, or his actions or sayings, get her so flustered? It was almost shameful. Her ears dipped, alongside her tail tucking in closer as a hand held the other arm for a few mere moments.

"S-sugar? Wait, pardon me--? I assure you, I'm no... confectionery!" Ah, poor little misguided Maeve, completely at a misunderstanding of how others work. Yet, her cheeks were turning a shade of red that didn't acquiesce to her normal standards. Aside from that, she wondered, what had he meant by she "won" this one? At this point, she'd begun to regret her decision of approaching him entirely, due to all of this social confusion.

Despite his... embarrassing ways, the fact that he had approached her further calmed her flustered demeanor. As a matter of fact, there was a slight, unconscious tail wag to prove her satisfaction. "I-I don't mean to change your ways, per say... I don't have anywhere near the power to do that." Her left hand parted from her arm, setting it within his. "... I'm Maeve. It's... nice to meet you, Sun."

【♥】—- How preposterous. How utterly ridiculous. How demeaning. Is this what she had to resort to?

Night had already fallen, and a despicable deed already done. Cool colored hues rested against the busted shop from a distance, before closing in disgrace. It pained her to realize that she was honestly going this low. Surely, there were other ways of obtaining what she needed, and that there was, but it required something that she didn't have. Therefore, she felt as though she hadn't a choice.

A hefty sigh elapsed her lips as she continued to trudge through Vale, in search of a certain niche. She could only follow the invisible trail left by the aircraft that zoomed past the area for only so long. It left her in a tizzy trying to configure the directions, but nonetheless, she eventually happened upon the very location she was searching for.

Eyes fluttered to the crumbled moon, questioning the time. It had to have been late night, or perhaps early morning. Furry ears twitched in response, followed by a small wag of a tail in anticipation. She'd found it. There was no turning back at this point. Turning toward the entrance, icy blue eyes shut along with a drawn out breath. It was now, or never. The lack of defense was scaring her, for lack of better description. This was the only form of defense she had against the enemies. While she knew hand-to-hand self defense, she knew it wasn't enough to fend off what she needed to.

Finally, a hesitant step was taken into the warehouse. Low heels clicked against the concrete, signaling her clear arrival. Her sight hardened as she took another step, and another, and another -- deeper into the dark, abandoned abyss. --Well, it wasn't entirely abandoned.

"... Roman Torchwick?" A single voice echoed among stifled noises, which she assumed to be dust crystals being unloaded. Silently, she drew another breath. Once she knew his attention was in her hands, she hardened her stare, pointed directly toward him.

"I... have a proposition that may interest you."

Sun stands still and watches the other faunus with an amused grin on his maw as she picks up after him, wondering just why in the world she even cares so much. Caring is waaay too much effort, after all.

"That would be pretty hilarious though,” He comments casually, shrugging his shoulders as he picks another banana off the stolen bushel, "Have you even really seen anyone trip on a banana peel? I’ll bet it’s great." His eyes trail after her as she walks past him once more, head cocking slightly to the side as he looks her over. Her comment makes him think for a second about how weird it would be if the cops actually tracked him down via banana peel trail, and it actually prompts a little laugh from him before he focuses on her once more.

"I appreciate the concern, sweetheart," He says, pausing to take a bite of the fruit and speaking through a full mouth, “But I’ve made it this far, so I doubt anyone’s stoppin’ me now.”

【♥】—- His nonchalant way of speaking almost nudged just beneath her skin. While she was to respect faunus, that didn’t mean she had to like every one she came across. Even so, she realized this was just a first meeting. She had to keep a cool demeanor, regardless of the situation. She may end up liking him much later… despite his tendencies.

“No,” she replied with no sign of comedic interface. “I imagine that landing would be rather painful, though, wouldn’t you think? Of course, it depended on what you landed on.” All of this small talk was getting them nowhere, she decided. But what else was there to do in this situation? … Honestly, the more she thought about it, the more she came to realize she had far too much time on her hands.

Her expression tensed ever so slightly as he laughed, and perhaps a tinge of pink rose on her cheeks. That probably wasn’t the best idea she had ever come up with. She turned away to reiterate the brush of dark locks that fell over her face, as to hide whatever embarrassment she caught. She didn’t normally act in this manner – her cool was almost never broken! Yet, here she was, feeling ashamed over a petty comment she made to a stranger.

“S-stranger things have happened,” she retorted, silently cursing herself for stammering. “Besides, you can’t count on… Your looks or your stealth to get you by forever. You never know what may be ahead.” Crystalline eyes had caught his own once more, causing her to slightly shake her head. “Aside from all that, perhaps… introductions would be the next topic? That is, if you decide that you want to stick around with someone who could ruin all of your fun.”

{►◄} For someone to go into the forest, they’d have to be braved and hopefully armed. A variety of Grimm lurked, especially at night when it was easier for them to hunt and kill. Blake wasn’t afraid of them, though. She was capable of taking down an Ursa if she needed to. She has in the past and doing it again would be a piece of cake.

Her amber eyes widened, eyebrows furrowing. How did she know about what happened on the train? How did she know she’d be here? The young Faunus took a step back, her suspicion spiking.  "Who are you?" she asked, not bothering to answer the other’s question. Leaving Adam was her problem and she wasn’t going to discuss it with a total stranger. The girl didn’t seem much of a threat, but the fact that she knew about what happened and followed her hear didn’t make it any better. 

The White Fang were now known as criminals. If someone knew about Blake, they’d put her in jail or probably even execute her even if she left them. The Faunus, especially White Fang members didn’t have the best reputation in society. She needed to be very cautious now that she was alone from now on.

【♥】—- Discarding a sigh, the wolf took a step forward without caution. Perhaps she had gone overboard, she decided. Now, she'd made the other suspicious of her ways, despite how suspicious they truthfully were. She had no intent on scaring the little kitty away, not in the least.

"Please, relax. I mean you no harm." However, her hand reached for her own hair, drawing it back behind her shoulders as she took another step, hopefully leaving the other enough clue to look upward. A pair of furry ears twitched in response. "I'm just like you, so please, don't become so tense. I realize that I... crossed a boundary I shouldn't have, and for that, I apologize." She cleared her throat a moment, as if she was ashamed of her observations. "I was just earlier observing you and your partner. It's awfully difficult to be inconspicuous when your fighting can be heard even by the Grimm creatures."

Noting the complications in her expression, Maeve's lips creased. Was she worried of being turned in? Was that it? The White Fang were notorious for their criminal ways, yet, she felt as though this girl had no intent of going along with them. "I assure you, I won't go to any authorities. You're safe with me, and I mean that honestly. I'd never go back on a... sister, if I may call you that."

Carefully, she forwarded to approach Blake, remaining as calm as ever possible. "My name's Maeve." Her lips curled to a small smile, hoping to calm the other, as well. "I apologize for being so brash, but under the circumstances, it's very nice to meet you, miss...?" She paused, leaving the answer up to the faunus in front of her.

Sun’s attention had been focused mostly over his shoulder as he ran, easily keeping his distance from the angry shopkeeper that chased him only a block or two before giving up. With a bushel of bananas held safely in his tail, the faunus slows down to a casual walk and turns his attention forward, immediately spotting a peculiar girl standing deliberately in his path.

The blonde stops in his tracks, narrowing his eyes curiously as he looks her over, scrunching up his nose a little when she finally speaks. How many times had he heard that in his life? And lately, nonetheless, with how much he’s been shamelessly robbing the city of Vale of most of their fruit supply.

"Hmm, lemme think on that," He retorts, suddenly adopting a smooth grin as he hangs the bananas over his shoulder to pick one off the bushel, pausing long enough to quickly eat the entire thing and toss the peel aside carelessly, "Mmmm ~ Nah, they taste way better free.”

【♥】—- An annoyed sigh left her lips and her ears flickered, as from off the bat, she realized it was no use. It was difficult to convince monkeys to do what you wanted, after all. Hazel hues zoomed to where he threw the remnants of his snack, causing her to walk past him. A somewhat bushy tail swayed along with her movements as she bent down to pick up the peel, escorting it to a nearby trashcan.

"At the very least, discard your trash when you're done. As cliche and "funny" as it might be, you could cause a serious accident if someone were to run into this." She tossed a look toward him, and back to the large bushel of fruit in his hands. "Besides, you wouldn't want to be found just over a banana peel trail, right?" A knowing smile crossed her lips as low heels clicked against the ground to meet him once again.

"Just be careful on where you go and what you do. You wouldn't want to be caught by chance, after all."

【♥】—- Vale, for a change, was seeming peaceful, aside from the dust robberies. Those occurred at night, and therefore, hardly any of her concern, as Vale wasn't exactly her destination to go at night. Even so, the day was nice enough to stroll around, and to enjoy it.

At least, that's what she had intended. How she could possibly do such a thing with all the racket going on was beyond her. Well, that's what she gets for coming to downtown Vale before the festival. At least it was the good type of racket instead of--

"Get back here!"

... Or perhaps not. With a disgruntled sigh, the wolf had paid for her beverage before motioning to where she heard the commotion. In her wake, she spotted a bright blonde, swiftly making his way in the opposite direction of others. She immediately noted the tail, causing a silent sigh from her. With concise speed, she caught up to him, appearing in front of him with a stagnant expression.

"I do hope you plan to pay for that," she sighed, approaching the boy. "You do know you can't go around stealing food."

{►◄} The young Faunus sat upon one of the many wooden crates containing pounds of Dust. Her knees close to her chest, tired appendages from the earlier battle wrapped around them. The cool breeze of the autumn air blew through ebony tresses as the train traveled on the tracks. Where she was planning to go next, what her next move was going to be, she didn”t know. But one this was for sure: she wanted nothing more to do with the White Fang.

"What about them?"

Those words stung and showed how much the members she once knew had changed along with the new leadership. They used to want to be treated as equals through peaceful protest, but now it seems they want to obtain peace and equality through fear. How would they be respected then if they killed a bunch of innocent crew members? They’d be seen as murders, criminals, monsters. But it was too late. The world has always seen the Faunus that way and spending one more hour apart of an affiliation like that wasn’t blog to change those views on them.

Blake hopped off the train, rolling onto the ground before stopping on her knees. She began to head deeper into the woods to rest for now. Finding a boulder to rest on, the raven climb up and sat. The forest was quiet except for the sound of small animals in the trees and the rustling of falling leaves and then footsteps.

Blake immediately hopped off to stand on her feet, hand reaching the handle of her Gambol Shroud. This forest was known to be home to creatures of Grimm and one could be lurking at any moment. Amber eyes scanned the area for the source of the footsteps before falling on the form of a human. She got out of her stance, releasing her grip on her weapon.

"Sorry, I didn’t know anyone else was here."

【♥】—- Another strike, and another train stocked with dust was taken down by the White Fang. Hazel eyes narrowed slightly as they watched the scene, taking in the situation at hand. Two people -- male and female -- members of the White Fang had approached the train, armed and ready. It was their plan to take down whomever would stop them, and then to steal the entire shipment of dust. She would have jumped in to help, to stop the attack, but what good would it have done? It would have only caused distraction.

What did catch her attention, however, was the girl departing her own way, leaving the shipment to the male. It seemed she was separating herself, whether it be from the White Fang, or from him. Whatever the case, it was what she did. That in itself piqued her interest. From there, she had just followed the girl's movements without major issue. And, as she guessed, she found her perched in a single area.

Carefully, she approached her, trying her best as to not cause disturbance. It didn't seem that plan of action was viable, as the leaves had gone back on her, revealing her presence. Yet, the other pulled away her weapon, as there was no proof of threat.

"It's alright," she replied. "I'm sure you wouldn't expect an actual person to be lodging here. However..." Carefully, she neared the faunus. "It's not me that I'm concerned about. I was more worried about you. You did just depart from your partner after all, didn't you?"

Eying the girl's weapon, she realized how unique it truly was. Where did she acquire such a weapon? Surely, she had the skills to back it up, as well. Another question surfaced: if she was in the White Fang, why adorn a bow over her ears, just like she was doing? There was no need to hide from everyone, if they knew what you were. A small shake of the head warded the raven away from asking such questions. She had just happened upon her, why would she disturb her personal space? She was more than likely handling some tough times at the moment, after all.
