BIOGRAPHY:
As soon as Malachi had been born, he knew that it was his destiny to follow in his father’s footsteps. The eldest son of one of the biggest crime bosses in New York City, he had an idyllic childhood – he had great friends, played soccer and baseball, and anything he wanted his parents gave to him. It wasn’t until he was a teenager that he learned of his father’s true profession – as far as he, and the rest of the world, was concerned, Gabriel Edelman was a successful investor that had amassed his fortune by making wise and lucrative investments. When he turned thirteen years old, his father sat him down and told him the truth – that he was his heir to an important dynasty and that it was important that he learned what that meant. In addition to his schooling and extracurricular activities, his father ensured that Malachi learned a few other things would become important later in life – like how to fight and how to shoot a gun – and by the time that Malachi graduated from high school, he was capable of killing with both his hands and a firearm.
Of course, his schooling didn’t end there. Going to college was important, so that he could get a business degree to inherit his father’s job, and it was there that he met Jessica. She was beautiful – a blue-eyed, blond-haired bombshell that looked like the picture perfect trophy wife. By all accounts, he should have wanted her desperately, but he knew that he didn’t – he much preferred the company of men, using his words to degrade and humiliate them as he used their bodies how he saw fit – and he really, truthfully, only pursued her because he knew that it would look good on paper. And boy, did it make his dad happy. Especially when, in just under a year, Jessica was welcoming a baby boy, an heir to Gabriel’s heir, and Malachi knew that it was important that he try to keep his little family together. If only to ensure that his father was happy and wouldn’t recall his naming him as heir.
But when his boy turned six, one of his father’s enemies had managed to kidnap his son – picking him up from school in an attempt to hold him hostage and for ransom – and Malachi was quick to go after the men that did it. He didn’t even try to talk to them, no, he fought his way through the warehouse that they were holding him in and once they were all taken care of, he grabbed his son and headed home. Of course, when Jessica saw a bloodied and bruised Malachi returning with a frightened son, she realized that perhaps she got in over her head. And a week later, she took their son and left. This angered him, but it made his father infuriated and Gabriel insisted that Malachi find Jessica and return his son to him. And, for over a year, Malachi used his resources and connections to track them down, using Jessica’s bank accounts to follow their movements. But when it was obvious that there was no way that Jessica was going to come back… Malachi decided instead that he should show her that he understood why she left, and he began to leave thousands of dollars in her bank account every few months so that she could raise their child comfortably.
This wasn’t something that satisfied his father, though, and Malachi knew that it was imperative that he find a new wife and have more children. And that’s what he did. Marrying his new wife, Elizabeth, he fathered two more children – first a daughter and then another son – but that didn’t stop him from giving into his indulgences. Between hooking up with the son of one of his father’s legitimate business partners at various business gatherings or prowling gay bars to hook up in the stalls of a bathroom, Malachi wasn’t exactly hiding his sexuality – just to his father, to his wife, to his business and to the mafia. And while his father is getting up there in age and allowing Malachi to assume more and more responsibility over the family business, Malachi is still only second in command and that meant he had a little more free time than he would once he assumed his father’s mantle. And what better way to use his free time than to go to the Haus of Perses?
It was easy for him to hear about the Haus. With so many connections around the world, his father had connections to the Blackwell family – as well as the King family – and eventually, the Blackwells heard about Malachi’s extracurricular activities and extended an invite. For years, Malachi visited the Haus every so often, but after the Kings, who arguably his family had closer ties to than the Blackwells, bought out the Haus, he’s decided that perhaps he should check it out more frequently and see what changes the Kings have made to the business. And what new staff they might have there, too.
