Dragon Ball Super episode 103 thoughts
Wow DBS Tournament of Power is hitting its stride. Itâs just such a nice flow of spotlighting the characters, fights and whatâs at stake for all the universes. Itâs so exciting to watch, that I donât want the episode to end.
Highlights of this episode:
Android 17 speaking back to Ribranne after her saying he`s evil. Wow normally he would just remark casually, but this time she got a proper response out of him. A17 is definitely serious about winning, he`s not playing. He`s here to protect his family and the animals. I like that he`s wearing his ranger arm band signifying his devotion. When he fights and talks Iâm just fan girling out every time, heâs so cool. His fighting style, the way he stands, the way he talks, his calm demeanour, he`s graceful. The way he jumped and protected Goku from those Ki blasts, with a greenish barrier, I knew he has great defence so I wasnât worried about both of them. I could tell Goku and A17 make a great team, now it was displayed in this episode. Well it was a little bit more like both of them looking out for the other, back to back; I want to see a proper onslaught by both of them next time.
The Yardrat named Jimeze was pretty cool actually, even though he has those cheesy lines, but that`s what makes him interesting; Also his Instant Transmission ability and protecting his universe comrades. Ribranne and Rozie had love hearts as their eyes after he saved them lol, he`s basically their heroic knight. Maybe theyâre saving him for a later battle.Â
Rozie has an interesting fighting style attacking with her arms. Kind of reminds me of Wing Chun fighting style morphed for Dragon Ball. The way Rozie creates Ki blasts that float and she fires them, also using feints. But Goku figured her out, by closing the distance getting close; Using her own Ki blasts to blast her out of the stage.
Ultimate Gohan is back. The character I have been pushing to surpass everyone and win. A17 is also another contender, but you know A17 is going to excel anyway as he`s always consistently strong. But with Gohan sometimes you wonder which Gohan will show up. But this time I wasnât disappointed. When Gohan was attacking Botamo with those constant punches to the stomach; I was nervous for him as I thought that wasnât a good game plan. But you see Green dad Piccolo and Saiyan dad Goku standing there watching Gohan. You feel like youâre in their shoes, wanting Gohan to win but curious to see what he`s going to do. Gohan eventually managed to kind of lift Botamo with his sheer speed and power punches, he was helpless; which was amazing to see. Botamo is out of the stage. Then Gohan and Piccolo get challenged by Obuni and Rubalt from Universe 10. Gohan wins by figuring out his opponent. Who uses a secret technique to split his energy so it`s tough to sense him. Gohan lets his opponent hit him so he counters back, risky but a way to progress nonetheless. Eventually uses an awesome finisher the Kamehameha. Gohan defeats two fighters in this episode, wow it wasnât easy at times but he did it. It was sad seeing Obuni`s locket of his spouse and child, which mirrors what Gohan is fighting for Videl and Pan. Gohan is quiet staring at the ground looking at it, then it disappears, Piccolo calls him and he follows, he has a serious look on his face. Gohan knows what he must do, to continue protecting his family.
Piccolo is badass as always, it was nice to see him fight again. He easily defeats Rubalt by outsmarting him; Rubalt thought Piccolo was desperately attacking him with Ki blasts. But really he surrounded him with it. Rubalt is KO`d, Piccolo like a destroying machine says: âRules are rules. You need to leave!â and Ki blasts him out of the stage. Wow Piccolo is a scary destroyer, which was a complete contrast to seeing him play peekaboo with Pan, lol. Green dad is awesome.
