hii ^_^ i'm curious about viorel's relationship with other members of the inquisition, particularly sera and vivienne if u have anything to talk about there

wrt sera, i actually just had the lil dialogue bit where sera admits part of her motivation for joining the inquisition is to see proof of her faith and to understand whats Really real, which is def important to her and viorel’s relationship. i actually didnt realize until the other day how. Young sera is. at least in relation to every other companion (w the exception of cole). overall, while viorel def like. tightens her fists at least A Little Bit whenever sera makes one of Those comments abt elves, she generally tries to do for sera what sees others Not do: take her seriously. for viorel, she sees sera as a young woman trying to do right by the people she cares abt; even tho she herself doesnt feel the Strongest connection to her “own” dalish clan (👀), part of the reason why she took ghilan'nain’s vallaslin (👀) was bc of her own penchant for navigation and guiding others. whenever sera brings up something red jenny related, viorel sees it through, and she tries her best to be patient w sera so she feels like she has her own friend in the inquisition in the same way she has her friends w the red jenny. it can be likened to how bull and varric are w sera tbh

w vivienne, theres definitely a fair bit of respect viorel gives her for her knowledge and conviction. but beyond that, i’d say a predominant aspect of their relationship is just. innate confusion. not necessarily in a Negative way (at least not all the time), just a “? but Why.” not just w the circles of magi, but w the courtly intrigue as well. it is Critical to me that while viorel is def within leliana’s same spymaster lane, shes not. the biggest People Person (that’s notably someone Else in her life), at least on a charming/charismatic. The Game is not something she’d rlly appreciate mainly bc of all its pomp and circumstance. the circle is definitely Also a point of contention for them (viorel understands and appreciates the idea of schooling for mages By mages but. obv isnt for the templar restrictions). they do get along on a pragmatic front, however, and i think they’d bond over cultivating skyhold’s garden together based on vivienne’s knowledge of botany and viorel’s knowledge of nature and herbs

#ive grown to rlly like vivienne and sera so far and it makes me even angrier that you can just. Always kick sera out #shes a sweetie pie. to me #i wish both the game’s writers and i think the larger fandom in general were nicer to them both #viorel lavellan #answered asks

hm. squints. sometimes im worried that my hawke is kinda just the stereotypical Purple Hawke Who Hides Pain Behind Laughter Lole so i want to do Something to veer off the path from that. like i think guilt is kinda the name of the game w hawke in general but i wanna have some other component w mara..

i think the Untapped magic thing i already something interesting, esp wrt how this plays into her relationship w bethany (w the two of them already in a lil bit of a I Idolize My Big Sister/She’s My Responsibility dynamic. in addition to the fact they both look similar in Some respects (v important its only Some and not All)). i think her empathy w and genuine respect for the arishok is another good point of interest. does she believe in the qun No does she see that he and his people are displaced and discomforted and does she identify w just wanting to keep your people safe and happy Yes.

idk. out of my da protags so far shes probably the least i feel “satisfied” w. wanna tinker w her at some point

Can We Maybe Not Do That. so it went untapped for the majority of her life/even Mara didnt know abt it (despite her and bethany having a rhythm in battle of beth using her magic to buff mara Very easily. which they both just kinda shrugged off as “welp she just responds rlly well to magic”)

so its within the fade that that latent magic within mara is awakened At Least Enough (and w the help of a spirit that takes on malcolm’s appearance) for her to carve her way Out and back into the world. this felt v mary-sue to me but bro was like “well fenris’s lyrium tattoos work from the idea of him Very Quickly teleporting in and out of the fade” and now ive come to rlly like the idea of mara and fenris having a similar connection in that way
