Some useless Soldier headcanons from yours truly:
Ambidextrous. Mostly uses his right hand when writing just because it's how he was taught to write as a kid
Likes to draw sometimes (see this post)
Has dyspraxia. In his era his symptoms would just be attributed to him being stupid (from lead water no less), which is true, but in reality if he didn't have it he would still be stupid but also have legible handwriting, could drive, etc. Hope this makes sense
Learned to tie his shoes at age 22 while stationing himself in Poland, which means he literally taught himself how to use and reload a rocket launcher before learning how to tie his shoes
Speaking of which, notice his model's boots don't have any shoelaces. Hm
He kinda knows how to play brass instruments. I know the game itself has this with the Fubar Fanfare trombone taunt and I guess the bugles for the Batallion's Backup and Buff Banner but still. He's not an accomplished musician or anything but think 40 something year old man who has middle schooler in beginner band type-music knowledge
He'll pull out his bugle from behind his back Looney Tunes style sometimes and play Taps for his fallen (and more tragically, 25 second respawn time) teammates
Almost exclusively eats military food and is generally a picky eater though he'll make exceptions for stuff his teammates give him (especially RED Engie and for BLU soldier RED Demoman). Think SPAM and K-Rations and bad instant coffee and all that. Partly because he's like "wow. Military good!" and partly because he likes the bland texture/taste of it. Ms. Pauling orders it for him in bulk because he doesn't like most of what his base offers food-wise
Has lived in various apartments without paying rent especially in his early 20s, mostly through either living in really worn down apartments that were about to be demolished (see BLU soldier's apartment in the WAR! comic as an example) or in some cases sending death threats to his landlords, then getting kicked out. Rinse and repeat
Was exposed to lethal amounts of black mold at some point in his life
I don't believe it's any secret that I think he's autistic
