Ciudad JuĆ”rez, Chih. La activista y artista plĆ”stica Isabel Cabanillas de la Torre, quien pugnĆ³ por que las autoridades brindaran seguridad a las mujeres, fue asesinada a balazos y su cuerpo encontrado la madrugada del sĆ”bado en el centro de esta localidad fronteriza.
La integrante del grupo Hijas de su Maquilera Madre, dedicado al arte, el activismo y a defender los derechos de las mujeres, se encontraba desaparecida desde el viernes, cuando sus familiares presentaron una denuncia.
La maƱana del domingo, familiares, amigos, activistas y vecinos de Cabanillas de la Torre se manifestaron en la explanada del monumento a Benito JuƔrez para exigir a las autoridades detener a los responsables del crimen y poner alto a los feminicidios.
El cuerpo de la pintora y activista fue encontrado junto a su bicicleta en una banqueta del cruce de las calles Inocente Ochoa y Francisco I. Madero; tenĆa varios disparos. VestĆa chamarra azul con negro, blusa y mallas negras y tenis blancos.
La FiscalĆa Especializada de la Mujer de Chihuahua precisĆ³ que la causa de la muerte de la joven fue laceraciĆ³n de bulbo raquĆdeo por proyectil de arma de fuego en crĆ”neo.
Ayer, decenas de integrantes de grupos feministas, familiares de mujeres desaparecidas y parientes de la vĆctima se reunieron en la explanada del monumento a Benito JuĆ”rez para exigir justicia y rendir homenaje a Cabanillas de la Torre.
Portaban pancartas con mensajes como Isabel Cabanillas, tu muerte serĆ” vengada, No somos carne de caĆ±Ć³n, Ā”Si tocan a una respondemos todas! y Ā”Ni una mĆ”s!, asĆ como fotografĆas de la activista, pintora y diseƱadora, a quien le sobrevive un hijo.
Acusaron al alcalde Armando Cabada de incumplir su promesa de mejorar el alumbrado pĆŗblico en Ciudad JuĆ”rez, lo que ha contribuido a que aumenten los feminicidios en los recientes cuatro aƱos.
Un hombre con un altavoz exclamĆ³: āLe arrebataron la vida. Isabel Cabanillas estuvo con todos los colectivos, con todos los ciudadanos reunidos; dejĆ³ plasmado su arte. Por ello, activistas, padres y madres de familia que tienen una hija desaparecida o asesinada nos encontramos totalmente indignados.
Cincuenta elementos de la SSP fueron enviados para resguardar la integridad de las personas reunidas y, sobre todo, para que la manifestaciĆ³n no se salga de control, informaron mandos policiacos.
Los activistas criticaron que en lugar de proteger a los ciudadanos, principalmente a las mujeres, los agentes sean usados para intimidar a manifestantes.
