kids don't watch kids [any +1]
"I... imagine they're going to want all the affected tucked away, both to make sure they're taken care of, and to make sure news doesn't spread."
...Oh goddess, imagine if this hit everywhere, that... nope. Just work on the concept that this is an isolated event for now. That'll make it easier to deal with mentally.
"But if you're here to figure out what happened, I imagine we can... do some work on it, away from the staff."
Stuffy church staff who would rather place the danger under a tarp and hidden away, than work with those affected for aid. Do the bare minimum, and be lauded for it.
No, this is her work to solve.
...And his.
"So you remember what happened before - good. Some of them apparently woke up with the mind they had at that age. So if you know that context, we can work from there."
At his stomach growling, Lysithea shakes her head, reaching into her pocket.
"Here - for now. I have more in my room, but don't you dare go sharing about this, or over-relying on this. This is a ration due to rough situation."
Lysithea pulls out a truffle, placing it in his hand, walking alongside him, her mind a whirlwind.
"Where to check first... the library? I... doubt they'd have any spells that could do that there, they'd rather burn them and deem them against the will of the goddess..."
Still... maybe worth a shot.
Mmm … this is a pretty good snack to be walking around with. Slightly sweet but also savory … I might have to pick some up.
The pair of young and admittedly younger mages slipped their way through the halls of the monastery, stepping and steering almost as if it were a playground game of hide and seek. The once tight, narrow, even claustrophobic halls now seemed like towering passages leading to a great dungeon boss. It’s amazing what a slight change in perspective can do to your general outlook.
What the younger mage also noticed (unsurprisingly yet also mildly disappointing) was the fact that the rest of the path to the library was also filled with children. Perhaps, however, the one place society recognized as a spot for quiet would remain as such even in this chaos. Of course, even if it was, their mission to discover any information about said chaos …
It’s entirely unlikely we’ll find anything, like … “she” said earlier. I doubt this has ever happened before.
“We haven’t properly introduced ourselves, have we? I’m Kliff.”
Kliff was grateful that his newfound ally hadn’t been babying him just because he de-aged—she honestly looked a bit young herself, but not that much younger than the young mage was meant to be.
Good. This would make her easier to talk to.
“… thanks. For the thing. It was good, and I might get some for myself.”
