Okay, I have some feelings about this particular demon.

Spoilers beneath the cut

Jinu tells Rumi that Gwi-ma controls them through their shame. Demons feel bad about themselves all the time. But look at this demon with a hunter on his shoulders, hand on his cheek, blush brush on his other cheek, she is smiling and talking about makeup.

Yes, the context is they are getting ready for a concert and killing the demons, but they are also falling through the sky and in this one moment her touch is gentle. He is resting his head on her knee, he is smiling and it looks for a moment like she is including him and being kind. Cheek to cheek they are looking in the little mirror together and then the line ends “who’s the baddest? Us, hello!”

Oh. She wasn’t including him. She was making fun of him. she is still gonna kill him. There is a momentary look of surprise on his face at the end like “wait what? I thought you were being nice to me.”

Anyway, it makes me wonder. The slightest hint of kindness and this demon looks ready to be besties. What if it’s the first time anyone - even someone trying to kill him - had touched him with any kind of gentility? Do with that what you will.
