when I was still new and fresh to the fandom, I remember reading a few fics in a row where one or both of them would tear up at the drop of the hat and thinking, “wow fic writers really rush right to crying in this ship, huh.” And then I rewatched this scene and realized they both! instantly! take their emotions to 11! and never questioned the queliot fandom’s wisdom again after that.
