Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate it!
So many people wouldn’t have asthma in the first place if it wasn’t for these corporations…Shifting blame from actual culprits to people with asthma (and people who can’t help but use plastic straws at that) is peak capitalism.
What IS even the point of stories like these? Are we supposed to be like “oh no….now we can’t do anything about the environment. They got us.” We can keep the asthma inhalers if we just regulate industry as much as it ought to be regulated.
It’s eugenicist propaganda. “The disableds are killing the planet, better let them die for the Good Of Humanity.”
I don't fucking care if it's manipulative, if your gf larps as an elf while talking to your relative who's undergoing chemo, you're allowed to humiliate her in front of her friends by larping as Naruto
also in trans news that should be talked about. laverne cox has stated that on saturday her and a friend were assulted in a park and it’s not really getting the same attention as elliot. we can still be proud of him without ingnoring what happened to laverne and her friend.
if you claim ally ship to the trans community then you can’t ignore the bad things that happen to especially trans woc. and if you’re a white trans person you can’t just talk about other white trans people. it just shows that you only care about trans people if they are white and that shouldn’t be the case.
if your gonna talk about elliot please also talk about laverne. she deserves better and we should all do better to raise up the voices of black trans women.
'When these things happen, it's not your fault,' actress Laverne Cox said after she and a friend were attacked while hiking through Griffith
“This has happened to me before,” she said. “I’ve been trans my whole life. I’ve been harassed and bullied my whole life. None of this is new, but it’s still just kind of like, ‘Who cares?’ and then ‘Why do you need to be aggressive?’”
At first, Cox said she debated sharing her story on social media and wondered what she “could have done differently,” before realizing “it’s not my fault that this happened.” She also thanked her friend, who immediately recognized that Cox was the “target” of the attack and deescalated the situation.
And here’s the Instagram live she posted talking about the incident
As well as a follow up live she posted talking about it a bit more, thanking people for their support, and talking about some experiences she’s had as a Black trans woman in general
