You know, it might be selfish of me to keep such a beautiful mare all to myself, but would you mind if I stood here and watched you dance in it for a while? I do so love how graceful you can be, and I would be so very thankful for the opportunity to properly admire you as you are~"

… was Celestia flirting with her? Why else would she call the other graceful when it was clear she had two left hooves whenever she tried to dance? Twilight knew she wasn’t a good dancer. Oh… goodness, she was being called elegant and beautiful too! A faint blush dusted over her cheeks; she was flattered by the other alicorn’s words. She did have a strong bond with Celestia, though sometimes she often did wonder how things would be if… they were together. 

But… this was just harmless flirting! Right?

“D’aww, I don’t think I’m that great of a dancer! And thank you, Rarity made it for me. I actually wasn’t sure any pony would notice. … do you really want to see me dance?”

Celestia had to admit, she was finding it increasingly difficult to keep up this little lie, not the least of which because she might have to actually put up with Twilight’s notoriously awful dancing if this charade continued any longer. The elder alicorn reasoned, based solely upon her extensive knowledge and deep wisdom, that a modest amount of honesty might be the best policy.

“Truthfully? I’m not particularly attached to that request. If you would rather do something else, all I was really asking for was to share a moment of time with the most gorgeous girl in Canterlot~“

“I wouldn’t call myself THAT, exactly...” Twilight mused, trying to hold back her excitement. This was really happening! Celestia was taking a romantic interest in her. “But I’m not busy! And even if I was, I’d happily make time for you. What should we do though?”

“Will you stay with me?”

The orange farmpony looked down at the Princess next to her in the pile of pillows and blankets, expression softening at her question.

“Course I will, sugarcube. Wouldn’t dream a’ leavin’ ya.”

Twilight murmured quietly, not wanting to get up. She was fairly comfortable. She even scooted closer to the farmpony and closed her eyes.
