As the buzz of Christmas lingers, we nibble on leftover treats and prep for the New Year. I find myself recapping my 2025 - the ups, the downs, and the shedding of people and places I needed to let go. I find myself overcome with emotion.
For most of us, this has been a trying year. The world seems to be burning around us as we say goodbye to just about every ideal we have ever known. Yet through that uncertainty, the revealing of bravery we once thought possible only in storybooks has emerged. Love, speckled with a cruel madness - it’s no wonder most of us feel a little out of sorts.
Through all the tangled emotions, we know in our heart of hearts that we must push forward. We must continue to advocate for peace, love our neighbors, and believe in our own personal power.
So, I’d like to end this little note with my unwavering gratitude for the constants in my life: my small circle of friends, a roof over my head, food in my belly, and the animals I have saved - who have also saved me - giving meaning to my little corner of the universe. Meaning that I can only hope each of you can find within yourselves, because without the colliding of our little corners of the world, this would be a sad place indeed.
