Here’s a starter call, since there’s been a lot of apps since my last one. Capping at 3, though willing to go over that by a couple if I really feel it. Castmates exempt because... because fuck there’s like 30 Fate characters this is a bad idea.

“ A fight. ” he states rather bluntly. “ Wasn’t anything serious, just some idiot trying t’ start shit. Had a knife on him. Still managed to take ‘em down easy. That’s all. ” It’s all spoken so matter-of-fact, like this was just an every day occurrence for him. Which in all honesty it was, but poor Romani had no idea of that.

“ Don’t worry too much about it. Just a bit of a nick anyway.”  A noticeable one at that considering it was on his cheek, but this was pretty tame compared to most of the abuse the Boss puts his body through. “ Look, man, I appreciate the offer and all but I’ll be fine. I’m sure someone out there needs more help than I do. ”

“I really have to insist,” he muses, shaking his head now despite the other’s insurance of such. “Even a minor cut can lead to infection, which will weaken your body and immune system to later threats.” 

Under normal circumstances, Romani would never be this adamant when faced with someone that could certainly lay him flat before the doctor realized what happened. But he was in a new place and, truthfully, doing things he was accustomed to would help alleviate his own stress. 

So he gestured to a nearby bench, scowl present on his face as he continued. 

“It’ll only be a minute. I’ll get that sterilized and patched up before you even realize I’ve finished.”

To be honest, Majima expected to be brushed off, maybe get a laugh out of bugging some healthcare professional on the street and move on. Either this guy had a sense of humor, or he was very dedicated to his career. Well, Majima didn’t mind this outcome. Who could pass up a free physical? Not like he was lying about his elbow, anyway.

He bent his elbow as instructed while giving honest thought to the doctor’s questions.

“Y’know, now that’cha mention it, I might’ve pulled it when I beat down those four punks who tried to jump me. I really wasn’t in my best form that day!” Majima laughed.

“Ah, that would certainly do it.” Romani replied calmly, smile ever-present as he felt the other bend. The bones rotated just fine, so he nodded his approval as he released it. In truth, hearing the other had beat down someone was the least surprising thing. He certainly fit the bill for someone most would deem to dangerous to even approach.

“It’s just some pulled muscles at worst. Maybe place something cold on it for a few hours and it should be fine by tomorrow. Be sure to limber yourself up before heading out next time.”

“ —– ah, have you come here to catch up on your latest blog reading ? although, it seems all the computers here have no access to the internet, how tragic.”  it was a pleasant surprise to spot the doctor between reading desks within a library, but with that, the mage could not help to tease. his expression was fresh and affable, as usual, a jaunt in step as he approaches the other; despite the taunts that belied them. magi✩mari would have to be placed on temporary hiatus, until he figured a way around the mysteries of this island.

for the time being, he spent a portion of his time with research and in his arms, merlin carried several tomes of varying titles; each a couple of pages thicker than the last. the history section was a diamond in the rough and was certainly stocked for his own personal discoveries. he thumbs the leaves of one book, mindlessly flipping through the contents as he continues.

“ well, no matter. you know, romani, i believe i am owed some praise for all the services i’ve done for you. i haven’t been thanked for all of my hard work and i think it’s been long overdue. ”  there is a whine amidst the tone of playful disappointment and merlin shoves his items into the arms of doctor roman, “ here, you can begin my grand standing ovation while carrying these books for me. ” // @magimariman

“Hm, from what I’d gathered, new ‘residents’ don’t get access to the internet here for roughly a month..” Romani murmured, not registering who the voice belonged to yet. 

He had been examining a book that supposedly had the history of this place, though in the end it was full of so many contradictions that the doctor had given up on it. There was no use in reading something from this place. It was biased information--

“Oh, Merlin.” A somewhat cold tone from Romani that most don’t hear to begin with. Still, the other wasn’t necessarily wrong. So he did, in fact, open his mouth as if to speak before it promptly shuts when his arms are filled with books.

“No, I just lost it. Sorry, but it’s hard to praise someone that just does things for their own benefit.”

This must’ve been Majima’s lucky day, because the minute his body started feeling a little funny he ran into someone who looked like a doctor.

“Hey, you a doctor? Can ya help me out?” Majima asked. He pointed to his right elbow, which he was bending in a perfect ninety-degree motion. “My elbow’s been actin’ funny all mornin’. Can you take a look at it?”

Maybe he should consider getting his clothing changed... He didn’t mind helping others, of course, but Romani certainly did stand out with his current attire. Which certainly said a lot given the many types of people he’s already seen in the couple days he’s been here. Still, he wasn’t going to turn down someone who needed help. Even something as small as this.

“Ah, that should be simple enough,” he replied, gently placing a hand to either side of the other’s elbow. “Can you please bend it for me? It doesn’t seem to be too injured if you can bend it that far, though you might have pulled something. Have you done any strenuous activities as of late? Lifted too much, too many movements or so on?”

“How did you manage to pull that off..?” Romani asked, head canted to the side. It wasn’t his place, really, to ask the other this. Though he did hide it fairly well, he’d become far too used to seeing people hiding injuries to let it pass. Even small ones can turn severe if left unattended. 

“If you’ll let me, I can probably patch you up a bit with what I have on hand. It’s not a proper medical kit but I did purchase some stuff...” In truth, a decent chunk of this was from random stores. Tiny knitting needles. fishing line, scrap fabric.. He’d made himself a faux medical kit rather easily.

The Doctor had seen many things in his lifetime. War-torn villages, odd lions turned President and King at once, and even mortal men turned gods. Yet, here Romani stood, positively baffled by the sight of what he could only call a ‘Goo being’. No matter how long his mortal life may be, it’ll continue to shock him every day, wouldn’t it? Still.. now that he really looked--

“Er, sir,” he began, wondering if the other could even understand. “it looks like you have some twigs stuck to your foot. Do you need help getting that off?”
