Feminism and gender equality
One thing that always irritates me is when people find out Iâm not a feminist, and the first question they ask is, âso you donât want equality?â Like, you can be a feminist, ex-feminist, anti-feminist or none of the three and still believe in equality⊠Sure, feminism may mean believing in gender equality, but just like the words racism, trans, oppression, privilege, tumblr had to fucking ruin the meaning behind those words.
Feminism makes women weak
Feminism claims to stand for two things above all: womenâs equality and enabling women to be strong.
Regarding the first aim, no decent man or woman opposes the concept of equality of the sexes. But people who do not call themselves feminists have a problem with the feminist notion of equality: Most feminists have conflated equality and sameness. And thatâs a huge mistake; the sexes are equal, but they are different.
A second major problem regarding the feminist claim of aspiring to womenâs equality is that feminists frequently provide false evidence to prove that women are not treated as equals.
The best-known example is the false statistic that American women earn about 25 percent less than men when they do the same work for the same amount of time.
Another example was relentlessly expressed during Hillary Clintonâs campaign for the presidency, and has been especially expressed since her defeat: the assertion that she was the victim of misogynistic comments and that she lost because she was a woman. None of it is true. But it keeps feminists thinking of women as victims - and people who think of themselves as victims are rendered weak.
That brings us to the second goal of feminism: enabling women to be strong and making women strong.
In one of modern lifeâs bigger ironies, feminism has actually achieved the very opposite. In America today (as opposed to, let us say, Saudi Arabia, where it does take strength to be a feminist), the more stridently a woman identifies as a feminist, the less strong she is. Feminism has created what is undoubtedly the weakest generation of women in American history. My grandmother, who never heard the word âfeministâ and never graduated high school, was incomparably stronger than almost any college-educated feminist I have ever encountered, or the many I have listened to and read.
My grandmother (and I suspect yours) would never have felt the need to retreat to a âsafe spaceâ when encountering an idea with which she differed. Yet we have a generation of young feminist women that is so weak that even if a woman comes to the womenâs campus to argue, for example, that when all relevant factors are taken into account there is no gender wage gap, they seek the comfort of stuffed animals, balloons and Play-Doh in âsafe spaces.â They also need âtrigger warningsâ alerting them that they may read something that disturbs them.
Feminism is a cover for weakness.
During one of their presidential debates, Donald Trump called Clinton a ânasty womanâ in response to an attack on him. His remark was universally condemned as sexist by feminists - both male and female. But didnât Trump mock Sen. Marco Rubioâs height, label Sen. Ted Cruz âLyinâ Tedâ and offer other similarly negative descriptions of male competitors? (By the way, millions agree Hillary is indeed nasty).Â
Modern feminists are afraid of life. They are afraid of differences of opinion. And theyâre especially afraid of men.
As one example, The Boston Globe reported in 2014, âA realistic-looking statue of a man sleepwalking in his underwear near the center of (the all-female) Wellesley College ⊠has caused outrage among some students in just one day after its Feb. 3 installation.â A petition signed by hundreds of Wellesley students said, âIt has already become a source of undue stress for many Wellesley College students.â
Clearly, hundreds of Wellesley College students are very weak.
Nearly every time the words âmisogynyâ and âsexistâ are used, they are untrue and only reinforce the conviction that feminists are weak. These words have become so overused by feminists over the years that they have become meaningless and trivial. Much like the way they trivialize rape.
You want to know what makes a strong woman?
A woman who doesnât make excuses, who doesnât surrender herself to mainstream views and opinions to feel accepted and who doesnât expect handouts and privileges for having a vagina.Â
In other words, not a feminist.

Throughout their little exploration of the first few authorization levels, Titus was careful to remain quiet in regards to the Fifth Level. He knew it got him riled up every time he thought about it, and he couldnât imagine how Aeona would respond - partly because he still had no idea as to what her ideology was and where she would be inclined to lean when it came to castes and - what he considered to be - oppression. His thoughts were distracted, however, when he heard her talking to someone that was most definitely not him. TheâŠcutesy, baby voice she used caught him off guard, because he had no idea what might have made her start talking like that. But then he saw the ball of fluff she was kneeling in front of. His ears pricked at the sound of soft mewling, and a big goofy grin spread across his face.
âOoooh, itâs a cat!â His kryptonite; cute, soft, fluffy things. He tiptoed up behind Aeona, crouching down and leaning just around her to watch the feline in rapt fascination. So enamored with the cat was he that he forgot that he was supposed to be âadultâ-ing. âMarga would love to see this kitty!â He hissed, stretching one of his hands out towards the cat and wiggling his fingers. He had already come to understand that most animals didnât like sudden movements from strange people, so he made sure to do it slowly - or at least, as slowly as he could for someone who as so excited he could hardly see straight.
The masked young woman was smiling as she played with the cat, holding her scarf and waving it around as it tried to catch the fabric with itâs claws. A soft giggle came from her as the cat finally caught the end of the scarf, rolling onto itâs back and gnawing on it. When she tugged it again, the feline caught her sleeve and rubbed itâs face against her hand.
Aeona glanced at the blond boy in his utter adoration for the small creature licking at her hand, watching as he reached his own out to the cat. The creature paused and stared at the hand for a long moment until WAP- It smacked his hand with a paw and returned itâs attention to Aeonaâs hand, the female giving him an apologetic smile. âSorry, I have a blessing when it comes to animals.â
Feeling his hand get smacked, he drew it back with a grin before glancing back at Aeona. âItâs alright. Iâve had worse responses from cats!â He usually left them rather thoroughly spooked, since they were never ready for his...euphoria, at the sight of them. âOh, oh, Aeona! When I go back to Leam, if you go with me, you should meet Miss Scheherazade!â He grabbed at the short blonde hair falling from his head, twirling the two braids that trailed over his shoulder. âShe looks a lot like me, but she has tons of blonde hair. Like, lots and lots of it!â That was certainly no lie, as that fall of unruly blonde was triple the girlâs own body width when it fell behind her. ...how her head supports all that weight is a question that Titus has yet to ask.
He nodded excitedly. âI love being here, too. There are so many amazing things! Like, mothers and cats, and shops! As for Miss ScheherazadeâŠwell, I suppose sheâs like a mother to me. Itâs to be expected?â Blabber blonde, shut it. Please. Somewhere, in a distant country, Miss Scheherazade must be cringing. The poor lady.
âWhat about you? Youâre a magician too, right?â There was no way she would have been allowed in the country, otherwise, soâŠsurely that was the case. Was she studying here? But then again, this was near Mogamettâs office and she was not exactly dressed as either a Magician of this country or a student. SoâŠa diplomat? From where, and why?
âRightâŠWell Iâm glad youâre enjoying your stay here and that the lady magi thinks so highly of you.â What an excitable child! Maybe he had a pretty secluded upbringing since his family was well aware of his exceptional talent to act this way. But then again, Reirei remembered the first few days after prince Kouha rescued her from the dungeons. So she knew what it was like to be overwhelmed of glimpses of the outside world.
âIndeed, I am a magician like you. However Iâm not a student as you can see. I am simply escorting his highness, prince Ren, Kouha on his expedition here. Although he had to go back to our country to attend to something important. Even so, me and my sisters stayed to act as his observers and envoys representing Kou.â She explained to him calmly. She might have left out the part wherein Kou planned to colonized Magnostadt to gain control of the magicianâs country though.
âMm-mm!â He nodded enthusiastically, continuing to babble between her responses. âOh, a Prince? I never heard such a person was even here!â It was impossible to think that this prince could also be a magician. Heâd never, ever, ever heard of a royal family producing a magician...for some reason. Now that he thought about it, that was quite strange. Perhaps it was a detail that went unmentioned? âIs it really okay for you to be here without him?â Titus couldnât imagine such a thing. But, perhaps she was here for the quicker transmittance of messages. She was a magician, so some sort of advanced magic communication might have been in the works.
âI think Iâd like to meet a prince, too. This world is just so full of things that Iâd only ever heard of from Miss Scheherazadeâs stories, before. I was, uh...extremely sheltered?â Try ânot born yet.â But the blonde canted his head to the side, trying to envision what sort of a person this Ren Kouha must be. A Kou Empire prince, apparently...heâd heard some stories regarding such a name, and given the place from which he hailed, Titus wasnât sure whether to feel apprehension or regular interest at the notion of encountering the boy.
