Imbolc Rosemary Oat Bannock Recipe
The grace of a grey bannock is in the baking of it… Scottish Proverb Oatcakes or Bannocks were traditionally eaten on old-world feast days t
Here's a delicious recipe from Gather Victoria that has traditionally been used to practice the ancient celebration of Imbolc. The Rosemary helps bring that extra energy of purification and protection into the home as the food cooks.

Be careful with marijuana, bipolar, paranoid, and psychotic folks. You may not realize until you’re already in it, but marijuana can trigger psychotic episodes, paranoid episodes and make bipolar mania worse. There has been a fair amount of research on this and google is free.Â
For only anxious/depressed folks, do whatever helps you. Just be aware the marijuana doesn’t help everybody and the persistent “Marijuana is Cool” culture can hurt people.Â
also! if you’re on lamictal, pleeease be careful around marijuana since it has triggered seizures in folks on lamictal in the past!!
Shit this is extremely helpful to know. I’ve been put on Lamotrigine (Lamictal) since my last encounter with marijuana. Stay safe!
marijuana has a vasodilation effect meaning it expands or “dilates” blood vessels, which in turn lowers blood pressure, which in turn speeds up heart rate. people with anxiety, including myself, can sometimes suffer actual worsening of anxiety with marijuana due to the brain misinterpreting the physical effect. this has happened to me multiple times. I’ve had a friend go to the ER because her anxiety got so much worse after smoking weed that she thought she was having a heart attack. even if you only suffer from anxiety, be aware of the possible side effects weed can have.
As an ER doctor, I see patients with marijuana side effects fairly frequently. A lot of people don’t know that marijuana can trigger latent psychosis, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder; even if you don’t have any symptoms of these conditions you might get them from using marijuana, and it can happen the first time or the hundredth time. If you have a close relative with any of these disorders, you have a particularly high risk of triggering them in yourself.
I know marijuana is a very popular drug, and for some people the effect of using it is worth the risk - after all, everything has a risk; I see patients who’ve been in traffic accidents every day too, or fallen off horses or bicycles, and most of them go right back to driving/biking/riding… People do things that might be a little bit dangerous because they consider the benefits worth the risk. But it’s important to educate yourself about the risk so you can make an informed decision. :)
If you do use marijuana and see a doctor for some reason, even unrelated, please tell us! We aren’t allowed to tell anyone else (breaching patient confidentiality will have our medical license revoked), and marijuana can interact with medication (as mentioned about Lamictal above), so it’s very important that we know it when treating you. :)
Anti-queer legislation has me feeling things.
Keep kicking those who don't deserve it and they'll eventually stand up and give you what you deserve.

For the hardcore crystal witch:
Specific harm
On a very sunny day, write on paper: "[Name Of Enemy] will [experience a great misfortune] before [date]" or similar, or use a sigil. Take a sphere of quartz, hold above the paper, and allow the sun to stream through it until the victim's name is scorched from the paper.
Harm in love
Write their name on a slip of paper. On another, write "your/their heart will not find love", similar, or use a sigil. Wrap in cloth or tinfoil with a piece of rose quartz. Unwrap to release.
(Even if you do not cleanse your crystals, I would recommend doing so after using them as described above)
For the elemental witch:
General harm
Create a vial of strong sun water, then "corrupt" with a pinch of pepper or a splash of red dye. On paper, write the name of your victim, and cast them into the vial. Shake vigorously to expedite.
Productivity-related harm
Cast a small item taken from your victim into a vial of ocean water. They now feel as if they are drowning in their responsibilities. Pour out to release.
There are always alternatives to the risk of pickpocketing items on and off of people, but this is a method I have always had success with.
For the nature witch:
Long-term harm
Healthy acorns sink in water, while rotten ones will float (most of the time). Take a floating acorn and and whisper to it its purpose. Sneak it into your victim's belongings and let it take root.
Bad luck
Paint the name of your victim in water on a maple leaf. Place the maple leaf under the candlestick of a black candle and let burn for as long as you like. Negative energy, including that of any standing hexes against you, will be captured and sent on to your victim, even if they are its originator.
(All are based on my own research, practice, experience, and theory. I encourage you to modify these for your own use if I have inspired you.)
No hate to Wiccans but if I mention being a witch and someone goes “Like a Wiccan?” one more time I am gonna LOSE IT
Listen to me.
LISTEN TO ME!
If you are going to DRINK your moon water, you are going to start with safe, drinkable water (tap water, bottled water) and only leave it outside in a covered or sealed container (preferably clear enough for the moonlight to get through).
This is a post for disabled people. For mentally ill people. For low energy people.
This is a post for people who work three jobs and look after their kids.
This is a post for people who are TIRED. sick. Struggling.
The Gods will not abandon you.
Even if you don’t worship every day, the Gods will not abandon you.
Even if you can’t pray regularly, the Gods will not abandon you.
Even if you can’t put together offerings, the Gods will not abandon you.
Even if you stumble,
The Gods will not abandon you.
They will not punish you for the crime of being human. They know you are not divine. They know you are imperfect. They do not expect greatness and perfection, they just expect respect and humility.
Stay humble. Stay consistent. Show your reverence in whatever way you can. Keep them in your thoughts before you go to sleep at night.
The Gods know you.
DISCLAIMER: this is my personal interpretation. Obviously beliefs differ and the ancients would have thought very differently. This has just been my experience.
One thing I want to make clear to pagans and polytheists - new ones in particular - is that you do not have to do deity work or witchcraft to be a pagan/polytheist.
It's totally fine to just worship.
Witchcraft, paganism and polytheism seemed to have been blurred together a lot, so this is also a reminder that they are not the same. A lot of people overlap them but this doesn't mean that you have to.
