“A death-scythe blow is quite a tough, even on someone like me…”
Ok but seriously, look at Sebastian’s face. He’s in pain, he’s panting, he’s exhausted. He protected Ciel while being in pain and exhausted. I know he has to protect Ciel because of the contract but still…. Still… This gives me feels.
Yana please give us more demon whump 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Shit happens pt. ?
I don’t think Hankcon is ethically dubious. I wouldn’t qualify it as "proshipping". They’re both adults and not canonically related even if you can read their relationship as family-like (which is really cool because for once a main pair is not necessarily a romantic one). But I still think Hankcon is just another one of these ships about a youngster and an old dude that participate heavily in stereotypical queer rep. Yeah another twink-ish struggling-with-free-will white man and his cop boyfriend who could actually be his father age-wise if Connor was human. Like Hankcon is absolutely not "morally bad" but I’m tired of this heteronormative age gap trope that follows us queers everywhere. At least let Connor be top idk (even that would be heteronormative but at least it would be original).
But first, "proshipping" is being used incorrectly here. Proship is not a category for ethically dubious or "problematic" pairings. It is a stance against harassing people over fictional ships, including ships you personally dislike. A completely harmless pairing can still be shipped by a proshipper.
Age-gap m/m ships certainly exist, but I wouldn’t call hankcon just another version of the same old trope.
I also don’t understand why the age gap, their different body types, or either sexual position would automatically make the ship heteronormative. Connor being a bottom does not make him "the woman," and Connor being a top would not make the relationship more or less queer. Top and bottom are sexual positions, not gender roles.
What feels especially selective is singling out hankcon for this when similar dominant/submissive or top/bottom patterns appear in countless other ships across fandoms. In many pairings, those roles are far more rigid, yet the entire ship is rarely dismissed as heteronormative because of it. And hankcon is not limited to one fixed dynamic anyway. Connor may be written as a bottom more often, but plenty of people write him as a top, too, write both characters as switches, or avoid assigning them fixed roles altogether. Honestly, hankcon seems to have one of the widest ranges of interpretations and sexual dynamics in this fandom, yet it is the ship people keep singling out as inherently heteronormative? The fandom gives their relationship a wide range of dynamics, so reducing the whole ship to "an older dominant man and a submissive young twink" means treating one particular portrayal as if it defines everyone who ships them.
It is completely fair to dislike stories where Connor is reduced to some twink and Hank is written as a stereotypical dominant older cop. But that is a criticism of a specific portrayal, not of hankcon itself. Connor can be confident, assertive, physically stronger, dominant, submissive, or anything in between depending on the fanwork. A relationship between two young, conventionally attractive men of the same age is not automatically less heteronormative either. Age and appearance do not determine that. So I don’t see why hankcon is being held to a standard that people rarely apply to other m/m ships.
I really like winnie the pooh, Can you draw winnie the pooh pleaseeeeee

Both "het is only cool if the guy's getting pegged" and "het is only cool if the guy's dick is like three feet long" are kind of nothing stances by themselves, but holding both of those positions at the same time? Honestly, that's almost respectable.

It’s Chat Noir season again 🐾
Congratulations to MLB fandom with the start of season 2!
I actually recommend everyone write for a rarepair once because it completely changes your relationship with fandom. Engagement stops being numbers and starts being names. You know who's going to show up. You recognize usernames. Someone disappears for a while and then comes back and you're like “OH MY GOD WELCOME HOME.” It's incredibly wholesome. It is also deeply inconvenient when all six of you simultaneously get writer's block-

If the holocaust denialism SOMEHOW wasn't enough for you to shut up about your favourite kids book as an adult; JK Rowling just committed a sex crime IRL against a transgender woman.
When do we start to care.
i'm getting the sense some of you are not actually forklift certified.
well damn . egg on my face
THE PLOT THICKENS @averagejoey2000 explain yourself
I can't believe this is how I'm finding out that I got a scam forklift cert.
I took the cargo ops class at school but my teacher explained that it doesn't give a certification and I'd only be okay for ship's crane and the school forklifts. she said I could take an online exam and get my cert. I paid 60 bucks.
I'm googling and I'm seeing a lot of resources saying that the online programs cover the classroom part of the exam but not the in person practical aspect.
29 CFR 1910.178 (l)(2)(ii)
but I did the in person practical shit at school.
the back of the card even had fancy numbers on it. I couldn't have known that this isn't the one. this website sounded more official than certifyme.net, and there wasn't one with a .gov address.
so, I emailed OSHA, and they said that so long as I live and work in California, there's no such thing as forklift certification. I have to be told how to do it every time I get the job.
Update: I took a certification class in shipboard Material Handling Equipment at my federal job. *now* I'm forklift certified, but only on ships and piers and only for this company, but also rated to forklift explosives and hazardous materials. Also I'm a woman now.
