My favourite thing about the fear domains is how varied they can be in terms of their designs, functionality and also what fear they inspire into people. As a Buried Truther, I have had an idea for a while about what domain I'd have if I was in the post change world.
First of all, I think it's fun for my domain to feed of crushing guilt instead of the fear of physical weight or tight spaces. So, the victim is stuck in a large, flat swamp or bog. There is a clear path forward, but it is treacherous to cross, slippery rocks, roots that seem to coil and trip you, and the ever present threat of falling into the bog itself and drowning. As they walk, they slowly feel their steps begin to labour, as if the humid air itself is slowly pressing in on them from above. Each step becomes strained. And then they feel it. From the stagnant waters nearby, a hand grasps their ankle suddenly. A person who they failed in past. Their skin is leathery and pale from not seeing the sun, as the muddied waters below don't let any light in, they are thin and emaciated, and silt, mud and soil pour from their eyes and mouths in streams. They try to speak, but their words are indecipherable and gargled. But the victim knows what they mean. They blame them, for what though? The victim didn't do anything wrong did they? They move, still laboured by the humid air, but now dragging a new weight. The further they walk the more those pale figures grab then, their hold crushing and tight. Eventually the weight of it all becomes unbearable, the guilt, the uncertainty, the fear of doing something wrong and yet not knowing fully what you did. They slowly are pulled into the water by those same hands you wronged. They can thrash all you like, but they won't let go. As that dirty water fills their lungs, they have a sudden burst of clarity. They realise what exactly they did to all of these people, and the panic hits them. They can beg, scream and try to apologise all they like, but their lungs are too full to speak, all that they can do is scream, gargled by the water and left to succumb to what they have done.
