i came over here to tell u guys a story before retreating to my fact again bc im actually doing shit on there.
so when i was making Virgil’s about, I was looking for a name for his sister. I realized that the same origins for the name Virgil comes the name Atlas, and that name is gender neutral.

“NO, no, no — IT ISN’T BROKEN FOREVER. he — IT can be fixed, alright? you probably just haven’t poked and PRODDED enough. so, get your.. erm.. MONKEY WRENCH, an’ HAMMER, an’ get t’work, alright? alright, good, good. glad we’re on the same page, yeah? makes things A LOT EASIER. i’ll be over here. WATCHING.” wheatley feels horrible. that CORE that the other is supposed to poke and PROD is — WAS his BEST FRIEND.
"I see the reason you’re JUST AN INTERN.” He’ll mumble, before looking at the other again, “It doesn’t WORK that way. It CANNOT be fixed. Over fifty thousand years from now, it’ll STILL be broken.” There’s a glance to the core, before taking a deep breath and back to the intern, “Look, Wheatley, I’m SORRY, but that’s just HOW IT IS.”
at the sound of a voice, cas FREEZES, pressing her body flat against a wall, only to find, he’s right there. “WHO THE FUCK IS MEL?” she snaps, trying to hide any sign of FEAR. hands form fists, eyes squinting. “and you bet your ass i’m not. but who are YOU?”
“I’m- I’m SORRY.” He’ll respond, realizing this wasn’t MEL. “I’m Virgil. I was waiting for a MEL, who... isn’t you. I didn’t think there was any more humans awake at the moment.” There’s a pause as he attempts to search the Wi-Fi for the other’s FILE, but can’t without a name or test subject number. “So uh, Who are you?”

I accidentally made a chassis!Virgil. He’s wearing leg braces because he was stuck under debris and his legs are…damaged. (Also, it’s my AU Virgil.)
Eyes WIDEN briefly, before the telltale laugh ( liar liar : pants very much on fire ) narrows her features back into their previous state : her pout now out of annoyance, rather than curiosity. ❝ No they didn’t. Tell me how, for real ——– please?? ❞
There’s another laugh when the other catches on to it not being TRUE, “Very good, very good, you caught me. You’re smarter than SOME of the humans here ALREADY!” He wasn’t saying that as a way to be rude to the scientists, he was just trying to play with the child. “For REAL? Well...” There’s a pause, as if to try to decide whether or not to ACTUALLY tell her, but that was still out of teasing, before actually beginning to tell the TRUTH this time. “Have you heard of something called Wi-Fi?”

“god — WHAT?” wheatley’s eyebrows are drawn together, confusion evident in his EXPRESSION. he would have stuck on the subject MORE, but the other is quick to move on, as if it’s NATURAL. and maybe, for HIM, it is. “oh. THAT.” old WOUNDS are being reopened, old WOUNDS that are actually not that old. in fact, it’s only been a couple weeks. “erm.. i.. DO YOU THINK YOU COULD DO IT? fix them, i mean.. uhm..” words t r a i l o f f. “did you even TRY?”
There’s a pause at the other’s question of IF HE TRIED. “Well,” Virgil will begin, “I learned how to fix things based on HOW they made one that WORKS, if they haven’t made one that actually works, I CAN’T fix a broken one.” He explains, before looking back at the other, “You can’t FIX something that was never working in the first place.” He wasn’t about to hide the truth from the other, even if it wasn’t an interns JOB to know. "It’s broken forever, and robotics DOES know that, right?”

❝ But —————– how can you fix things if you’re stuck up there?? ❞ Little lips purse, eyes SQUINTING at the core in confusion. ❝ You don’t even have arms!! ❞
There is a genuine laugh when the child begins QUESTIONING how he works. The smile on his face wont fade for a second as he goes to tease the child, “I’ll let you in on a little SECRET.” The core’s optics will then look around the room, as if to make sure NO ONE was listening, before lowering his volume and speaking in a whisper, “They programmed me with TELEKINESIS." That’s a joke, of course, and he can’t help the snicker when he says it.
Alright so it’s time for my ‘Virgil’s appearance’ post. Basically, he looks exactly like he does on the picture on my theme. ( which, the post that its from can be found here. ) But, I’ll explain it in more detail.
First of all, he has really soft, red hair that is just about never brushed ( guess why. its because hes a freaking robot. ) so it’s really messy. He has goggles that he keeps off his eyes, and instead on his head, like you do with goggles. The lens are orange tinted, but the rest are black, and they are still usable, he just doesn’t have a need to use them. His eyes look like if any human had eyes with an orange iris. Though, one of his eyes has two cracks on them - not just on the iris or the pupil, but the eye it’s self. ( It is just glass surrounding his optics, after all. ) On his cheeks, both sides, he has a... basically metal plate that is really only there so it can be opened for easy access to the bolts that are in said metal plate. The metal plate also is the same color of the rest of his skin, but just feels different and has the obvious texture change lines. The bottom bolt on both sides are actually the only functional ones, there so that way his jaw works. The two above them have no functionality that Virgil is aware of, or me for that matter. Then, his hands have, on the back of it, another metal plate with bolts keeping it on. It’s in case the wiring in his hand breaks, he has easy access to fix it. The metal plate looks like the ones on his face, so, yeah.
“It was a pretty BAD Cave Johnson impression.”

“Mel! Over here!” He had saw the girl’s hair and had ASSUMED that it was the OLYMPIAN. He was YET to see really ANY other humans yet, so he felt it was a safe assumption, until he REALIZED that it WASN’T and found himself saying, as his smile dropped, “You’re not Mel.”

“God Morgen.” Virgil would say with a nod to the intern, before switching back to English, “Uh, question. Do you know if the robotics team actually... expects me to fix the corrupted core?” He honestly didn’t know if they really thought he could do it - but he knew he COULDN’T. If they didn’t know how to FIX it, he surely DIDN’T. “This thing is broken for GOOD, I think.”

If you listen closely there is a SCOFF from the core. “Kunne hun ikke forstå min aksent eller noe?” He mumbles it to himself, before back to speaking to the human, “Aria! We have to get going - I’m SORRY that your... friend is dead, but all the humans are. So, we have to get going before things get WORSE.” There’s a pause, “We could DIE if we don’t.” AEGIS
