ok so if you know me, you know i run @fireworkgoboom and probably noticed a lull in activity! He has these sometimes but its usually just a stray pain or sleepy limb. His whole left side went numb and Im still shaken up, i didnt sleep till about 7am this morning, and i slept till nearly three in the afternoon. On top of that, He thought I made jokes about his funeral on the way out. I was talking about my garden and he thought i made joke about flowers on his urn.. Feralization Vs Corruption

Your gem friend is panicking, probably upset as fuck and freaking out as they turn into whatever monster they turn into- What caused this? Depends on the gem- and their internal structure, more specifically. Corruption is a data-disturbance that occurred most notably at the diamond blast. It prioritizes raw data and behavioral distillation. AKA Simple minds, broken bodies. Gems will corrupt in a form related to their gemtype. Fusions may stay together whilst corrupted, but corruption also spreads via fusion, meaning don't fuse with anyone corrupted until you bring them back. Feralization works with a very similar principle, however two factors come into play: data-structure and solidity, both so intertwined most don't bother to define them separate from each other in gems. Solid gems don't corrupt, they're immune to it- but that pathway is open via other ways. Most specifically, A high intensity emotion that would otherwise cause a gem to dissipate- If they don't actually dissipate for some reason, whether they're restricted somehow or simply willing themselves not to... they can enter a state of mind.

Feralized gems are still to some extent cognizant, while corrupted gems often lack long-term memory or any notable sapience. Feral gems are often easier to talk to, because their deep-set instincts that form depending on the code itself? That often leads to behavioral changes. Pearls can become mothlike, quartzes can be generally mammalian- And diamonds are a crapshoot. No rules for them because their code is only bound by the gemstone itself, and that ain't much.

Amber and Copal

Amber's are one of few gems that can go through a growth period- Coincidentally, pearls- arguably biological in origin to some degree, Also have a growth period (does not apply to those made at the reef). Ambers develop their affinities for different topics at a young age, zipping around like a hummingbird across courtyards as they race to catalogue flowers. At this young, immature, and vulnerable state, their gems are softer and can still be slowly shaped manually with impressions of shapes or minor shape adjustments. Ambers have no set gem-shape and their bio-suspension powers come in early. As immature ambers, or Copals, live their lives, their gems naturally harden and darken from a sunny yellow to anywhere from a deep, rich orange, or to even a deep golden brown. They live for the thrill of learning, and dear god do they enjoy it. These are Iridescence Diamond's, hers come out kinda like a fusion beteween mary poppins and ms cartman.
