I was really worried that the murder and manipulation and evil was gonna just be set dressing and everything else was gonna be romantic young adult novel vampire fluff, but Scott really went in on the inherent body horror of vampirism with Apo

As much as I love Shelby and Scott being besties and roommates forever it’s just not as interesting as Apo being cornered and coerced into giving up her bodily autonomy and being transformed into a monster that depends on something that terrifies her

I hope Scott keeps being a scary freak it’s the best part
