okay, so i basically declared a hiatus on my other blog but i won't do the same here. malachi's blog was created solely so i could have a fun and relaxing creative outlet, while i feel that varrick requires a little more time and energy that i just don't have right now. so instead of saying this is a hiatus, i'll say that i won't really be around much and if i happen to get out the occasional reply, well then all the better! thank you all for being so patient. <3

mmmkay so i changed the about section up a little bit. not sure if i'm entirely satisfied with it but i'm happier with it now than before. it includes a bit about why malachi is in the city and also a little blurb about his personality.
i'm not really going to worry about it too much, the whole point of this blog was so i could have a low-maintenance muse so i won't stress~
on that note i might vanish, i really wanted to get some replies out tonight for malachi and varrick but alas, sleep wins. again, really sorry for the mini-hiatus, i'm going to make an active effort to be around hopefully tomorrow and if not, definitely this weekend. <3 :D

okay be honest with me. what scope should i set for malachi's powers/magic? i don't want to give him too much, and also i don't really see him every using most of the abilities i would give him. still i want there to be some things that sort of establish him as a magical creature as opposed to a ginger with bad style. :P i'm definitely keeping the bit about him being able to make himself unseen because i think that fits in with fairy lore in general, but in terms of his other powers i'm still on the fence about a lot of things.

Pixies at the Park
“Mali…mala…” She huffed, his name was difficult. “Mally-kai.” There. That was good. She smiled in accomplishment and got on her hands and knees to peer around the tree. She giggled and darted back when Arthur caught sight of her, pretending that he hadn’t.
“Daddy’s the bestest at everything.” She said, obviously in the hero worship stage of her childhood, daddy’s little girl. “Except that sometimes he sets things on fire and forgets stuff.” she added conspiratorially, because both of those things were so blatantly obvious to even her in her youth.
Arthur shook his head and smiled. “Now where could my lovely little girl be? I hope the goblins didn’t get her!” he sing-songed, just loud enough for them to hear. “Or worse! She walked down the faerie paths and is lost to me! Oh gods, I could not bare such a thing!” His grin grew wider when he heard her giggle again. He checked behind several trees that he knew she wasn’t behind and finally jumped into their sights. “There you are!” He crowed, showering her in the flowers. “Oh, hullo, who are you?”
Disregarding Lizzie's mispronunciation of his name (she was only a child, after all) Malachi quirked a brow at her description of her father.
"I s'pose we all make mistakes," he said with a wry smile. The father's voice was coming from just the other side of the tree, no doubt they would soon be found. Malachi couldn't help the wide grin that appeared at the mention of goblins and fairies. The grin faltered a bit when father jumped out, and Malachi instinctively skittered back a few steps. Children were one thing, but adults tended to have widely varying opinions on the strange man in funny clothes.
"Sorry," Malachi answered immediately, since humans seemed to like apologies. They were thrown around so often it was safe to assume it was always the correct response. He worried at the flower necklace in his hands before tucking it carefully into the breast pocket of his shirt lest his fidgeting break it. "I'm Malachi, Lizzie and I had a bit of a run-in while she was hiding. Sorry if I startled you." He gave a slightly nervous smile.

Rex had been on his shift since the store had opened, seeing the other two employees come in at their regular times, just like every day. Though, he did suppose that’s what happened when you made a deal to live in the bookstore and work as your payment. Fair enough, but still exhausting. It was nearing closing, and he was shelving the books that had been discarded at the front because they turned out to be unwanted, how tragically beautiful, when he heard the door open, his gaze traveling over to the person. “Hello.”
Upon entering the store, Malachi's face immediately scrunched up in disappointment. Books. Lots of books. He'd seen them from the window, but hoped that something more exciting awaited him in the store. There appeared to be only one other person present, a young man who had called out a greeting.
"Hullo," Malachi responded with a half wave. The gesture was mostly lost in the grossly over-sized sweater he was wearing, decorated in daisies set on a light blue background. His pants were a clashing neon pink, though at least he had remembered to put on shoes that day.
Malachi didn't really care to know much about books. What he did know was that the bigger ones didn't have pictures and the littler ones did. And when he browsed the sections of smaller books people always assumed he was purchasing a gift for someone else. He didn't have much else to do that night, however, so he contented himself with perusing the shelves, occasionally reaching to pull out a book a bit to see the cover. Every now and then his brow would furrow at the scrawling letters on the covers, wondering what they said.

“Hello.”
“Ah, hullo! You’re…” Malachi’s head tilted to the side, his eyes narrowing a bit. “Funny, you seem…Well, a bit different, yeah?” A rather bold claim, coming from someone who was currently wearing an over-sized men’s blazer and a pair of floral leggings.
“That is because I am different.” He replied. “If I were not I would not be who I am.”
"Right." There was a brief pause. "Eh, sorry, who're you again? Have we met?"
