Everything is gray now. Nothing seems right or wrong. All my definitions and boundaries are blurred. I don’t know what I feel – who I am. Even the landscape is hazy and distant, surreal, and without color. If I didn’t have my work I fear I would have lost my mind by now. I have wandered so close to darkness that I wonder if I will ever see again. But then, now, I wonder if I would even want to. It would be so much easier to just close my eyes, lean back, and float into oblivion.
Would it stop hurting if I did?
Doriandrin put her pen down, leaned back, and closed her eyes. This did not have the effect she was hoping for. She looked over at her sleeping toddler as Aubria hefted the small girl to take her to bed. A couple glasses of wine would do the trick. But no… not here. Not tonight. Not with her daughters so close by. Not when she might be the closest … officer … at the hold. As she often did back home, she wandered out to the edge of the darkened sea. Somehow, the sea here did not calm her like the one in Quel’thalas. Instead, it seemed to know just how she felt. So she would sit and commune until she had to return to the house, lest she fall asleep for the night tide to truly carry her to oblivion.
You moved me. More please.
