We all fall down || Charlie and Kai
Headphones in, volume all the way up, eyes straight ahead. Charlie ran at full speed along the trail, sending any water in her way off to the side with every step. Not even a water witch enjoyed puddles. She had taken up running years ago, it was therapeutic to just go.
A loud shriek filled the air, heard even through her headphones. Charlie stopped dead in her tracks, pulling the earbuds out as she looked around for the source of the sound. The woods in Spiritvale were usually safe, a favorite spot of hers as a young girl, but with the recent string of disappearances she wasn’t so sure anymore.
Cautiously, Charlie continued along the trail. She felt obliged to investigate but wasn’t trying to be the next missing person. Relief befell her when she saw a young man on the ground, no blood in sight. “Are you okay?” She called from several yards back, picking up her pace until she stood over a familiar face. “Nice goin’, Kamdyn.” If the blonde hair wasn’t a dead give away, Charlie thought all the Kamdyns looked alike, Kai especially favored Charlie’s good friend - Tara Kamdyn. “Lucky for you-” She crouched down to inspect his ankle, the swelling had already started. “I went to medical school since the last time I saw you, and in my medical opinion, I don’t think you’re going to die.”
She joined him on the ground, eyeing the hole in the ground until the earth began to shake and the hole closed. Future joggers would be safe. “So, here’s the real problem. You’re a little too big for me to carry, and it doesn’t look like you’re going to be able to walk on that.”
@charlotteashworth
He hadn’t been expecting anyone to come running. The path was usually deserted. And if it was people tended to keep enough distance between them that it wouldn’t matter if someone was getting murdered. Laying there, spread out on the trail he took a deep breath wondering just how he was going to get himself out of this little incident without someone coming around the corner of the path and finding him.
The voice startled him. The string of missing persons that had been happening hadn’t really been in the forefront of his mind, that didn’t happen to people like him. But in that moment the eerie voice from paces away had sent a jolt of panic through his chest before the next line came, from closer by. Whipping his head to the side, a smirk split his cheeks as his eyes rolled. “My second favorite Ashworth. Here to break my heart again?”
Always one to whip out a joke, especially if he was in a situation that was even remotely uncomfortable. Eye brow lifting, he reached down to clutch it. “Now I don’t know about the dying thing, but I could definitely lose the foot, dontcha think?” Really playing up the pain, he let out a more than forced whine before poking the swelling and truly grimacing. “Certainly does sound like quite the problem. How are we going to solve it?"

It took Matt a couple moments to get the key into the lock because he was trying not to laugh. It was easy to do that around Malakai, which he happened to find himself enjoying. “Should I not bring up the whole American Psycho plot? He lived in an expensive apartment. Granted he went after hookers for the most part. So I guess you’re safe,” Matt pushed the door open and returned to place his muscular arm around Kai’s waist, pressing his lips against his ear and whispering the final part of his sentence; making sure he could feel the heat of his breath, “for now.”
Matt slipped his mouth down to kiss his neck and went ahead to bring him completely in; just enough to close the door. “I thought we’d never get to this point,” he said as he looked around his sparse apartment. He was there earlier in the day so he managed to get some cleaning done, tackling the clothes which were scattered from the quick trips he made home. Matt thought to be a pain in the ass and said, “So. Tour?”
Kai didn’t think he would ever tire of hearing Matt laugh, he had to admit, it was a sound that he wanted to continue hearing. With shiver because of the warm puff of air, he grinned a Cheshire Cat grin. Eyes darkening he raised a brow in a silent question. to the statement of for now. Humming, he quiet enjoyed the feeling of the muscular arm wrapped around him. Thank you firefighters.
“You're playing dirty, Matty. The only tour you better be giving is to show were the bed is, “ he bit out, placing a chaste kiss on the corner of his mouth. “Or the couch. A counter. Table. But a soft, flat surface would be preferable. I’m injured in case you’ve forgotten.” Though as his arms snaked around the others waste and pulled him firmly against him, it wasn’t his injured ankle that was bothering him. It was a different part of him that was desperate for the attention that had been promised.

matt--davidson:
Matt kept a hand on the door and waited for Kai to stand, watching him as he went because he knew it’d been ten minutes or so since he put actual weight on that foot. “Don’t worry. Standing will be very limited once we’re inside. Though,” he said with a bit of emphasis as he went to wrap his arms around Kai, taking advantage of the fact they were about to head in, “I’ll keep in mind that you don’t mind a little pain,” he bumped his nose against his and kissed him; moving up just enough to capture his lips fully.
When he pulled from him, Matt kept close so Kai wouldn’t lose his hold on him and he snaked his arm around his waist. “Just another minute and you’ll be off that foot for awhile,” he promised.
“Least you don’t live in a seedy little neighborhood or anything, less of a chance you’ll murder me once you get me inside,” he said cheekily, fully taking advantage of the fact that at the moment they were alone were the stood to drag a hand down to squeeze his butt gently, returning the kiss quickly. They were finally, finally, almost in the safety of his place, where they didn’t have to worry about eyes watching. “You really know how to sweep a lady off her feet. Definitely a Prince Charming move.” Taking a few steps forward, his eyes swept to the target, locking onto it. A fleeting rush of nerves bubbled up over the fact that he was almost in the apartment of a stranger came and went quickly, leaving Malakai with nothing but a fierce sense of wanting as they finally made it to the door that had been pointed out.
Pulling away from Matt, Kai leaned himself against the wall near the door, eyes travelling the other’s backside in appreciation. Ruffling his hair, he crossed his arms as he waited for the door of apartment to be opened. ”Last chance to back out before you let a stranger into your space.”

matt--davidson:
“As long as we keep you from placing any weight on it, then we’re good,” he said as he was full aware his smile was practically plastered on his face by this point; dimples on full display. His intentions were to look it over and help alleviate any pain and swelling the best way he could. Though that may come a little later…
Matt turned into the parking lot for his apartments and pulled into his parking spot. Finally, he thought as he looked at Kai and winked at him. “Home sweet home. I’m there,” he said as he pointed the apartment which was a very short walk away. His hand found the door handle and he gave it a pull and soon he was on Kai’s side of the car on the ready to help him up. “If it hurts too much I can get you taken care. I don’t the pain to keep you from enjoying yourself while you’re with me.”
“Long as the physical activity doesn’t involve standing, I think we’ll be able to do just about anything.” Rolling his ankle around a bit, he turned his head as he grimaced. Standing on it again definitely wouldn’t be fun. Eyes studied the place they pulled into, recognizing it as he opened his door to step out. With a chuckle. he shook his head, trying to get out without all the fuss of needing the extra help. And it hurt like a bitch as he attempted it. “A little pain can be a good thing, if it’s the right kind of pain.” Stubbornness finally wearing out, he gripped Matt’s shoulder, relieving some of the weight that he had put on the ankle. “Though I definitely think getting off this ankle would make both of us enjoy it more.”
Sprain || Kai & Matt
matt--davidson:
The car behind them brought Matt out of his cloudy mindset and as he chuckled he could feel Kai’s lips still very against him. “That should tide us over for about a minute,” he joked and with the greatest reluctance he pulled away from him and resume driving. His hand, however, continued to linger on his body and he returned it to his thigh; giving it a light squeeze while he looked to see if the driver behind them was irritated or what. “I suppose it would be terrible of me to not ask how your ankle’s feeling? Because I haven’t forgotten about it. Not completely. It just dropped down on the priority list but,” he stole a glance at him. “Can you blame me?” Matt thought about making a comment about his uniform, just to rile him up some but he decided to hold that for another time. Which he hoped there would be.
“If only it were that easy to keep hands off of you,” Kai muttered, a slight pout on his lips as he pulled back into his seat. His eyes moved away from Matt, as his hand fell away from the other’s face. This all was torture, being this close to what would be happening, yet not being able to indulge in what he wanted. “Hmm? Right, the ankle. It would seem that you are just so great at distracting me that I hadn’t really noticed.”Tongue poking his cheek, his head tilting as his eyes slid back towards him with a raised brow. “Though, it could be because I’m not on it anymore. I’m more likely to attribute it to this pretty man who can’t seem to keep his hands off me long enough for me to think about anything else.”
Sprain || Kai & Matt
matt--davidson:
There were still too many minutes left in the drive and Matt thought the best course of action was…well. Honestly he didn’t know the best course of action. He suddenly felt like he was seventeen again and about to have sex for the first time. He and his girlfriend at the time knew what was going to happen but they couldn’t until his parents finally left to take his sisters to some Disney on Ice show. That felt like torture then but it was nothing compared to this.
Kai was making these types of remarks, basically promising him how things would go and Matt wondered how it would go. There was a low chuckle which followed and Matt ran a hand through his hair, resting his elbow on the side of the car door and lowering his hand to rest on Kai’s thigh. “Watch me get fired due to leaving all the time,” he stopped at a light, which he knew wouldn’t last for long, and Matt’s hand went to take hold of Kai’s wrist and he gave it a gentle pull to bring him closer to him; kissing him again on the lips. It was fleeting but damn, it was something.
Matt was one to talk about working someone up. Kai was keeping his hands to himself, albeit because if he allowed himself to touch they’d probably end up crashing because he didn’t think he’d be able to just stop. And that wouldn’t be productive to them actually making it to the other’s place. And since that was the goal here, his hands stayed to himself. Hands clenched to ensure just that, he threw his head to the side eyes trailing over what he could see of Matt’s body.
“And that would definitely be a bad thing. But only if I don’t get to see you in that uniform of yours before you get fired. Cause that’d be a real bummer,” he managed to squeeze out before the tug that pulled him closer. Lips pulling into a smile, his clenched fist uncurled, wrapping around Matt’s jaw as he leaned into him. Okay, so he had tried, but damn it, this man testing his patients. Hand slipping up, his fingers slipped into hair, tugging slightly pushed just a bit harder losing himself into that moment. Until a horn honked behind them.
Sprain || Kai & Matt
matt--davidson:
If Matt had the ability to teleport his car straight into his living room just so they could be there already, he would but there was still eight or so minutes to get there and this wait felt like complete torture. Not that he was incapable of thinking outside of sex, he’s done it loads of times, but with how they got to this point his body protested doing anything other than devouring this guy next to him.
There was always the option to pull over…
No. That wasn’t a valid one. Not when there was the chance of getting caught by the cops and Matt didn’t want to jeopardize his job, no matter how badly he wanted to throw caution to the wind.
“You really know how to work me up, you know that?” he said after Kai spoke, Matt decided to sneak his hand over and touch his arm. It wasn’t where he wanted his hand to be but doing that while driving wasn’t exactly the easiest. Or the safest. “Besides. I don’t have a basement. But I can leave you on my bed and come home during breaks and have my fun with you. That would be a win-win for both of us,” Even trying to say that without laughing was pointless and Matt’s hand went down his forearm, nails grazing the skin now.
It had been quite some time since Kai had wanted something like this as bad as he did. He’d been on his best behavior, though that never lasted for long. And this was the proof. He just couldn’t help himself. It ha started harmlessly, as it usually did, but it had definitely progressed to so much more.
Lifting the arm that was farther from Matt and letting it rub against his bottom lip, he allowed the smile to overtake his face. “It’s not my fault that you’ve fallen prey to my charm.Though I definitely plan to enjoy just how much I work you up. Gonna do more than just work you up. though, handsome.”
The touch, innocent as it was, didn’t help the problem of wanting him now any, it seemed to only make it worse. The nails though, they made him hiss slightly as his eyes darkened at the joke he made. That thought was rather tempting at the moment, because then, at least, they would be there already, and not stuck in a car unable to do anything. “Sure you can handle satisfying me on those short breaks? Might get lonely.”
Sprain || Kai & Matt
matt--davidson:
“Considering I met you less than twenty minutes ago, then yeah. There’s a lot,” he had to laugh at this. They went fast into this, there’s no denying that, but the chemistry he felt from Kai was unquestionable and the guy was incredibly hot. Matt thought to keep to the way things were for now but the longer they stood there the longer it would take for them to get to the privacy of his place. Malakai’s reaction to leaving, however, did make it easier to move because it showed he wanted to see where things would lead, too.
Matt tried not to roll his eyes but failed and grinned. “You have me figured out, Kai. I’m just some guy who looks for injured joggers just so I can lure them back to my home to have my way with,” Then, “And you’re probably that guy who pretends to get injured so someone can rescue him. Total damsel in distress type,” He went to the driver’s side door and pulled it open and soon was behind the wheel and ready to get this show on the road. Though Matt hoped he didn’t crash the car with how distracted he felt in the car, unable to keep his eyes solely on the road as he kept stealing glances at him.
Pulling open the door, Kai slid in and buckled up. Thoughts of how crazy it was to be going to a strangers house “flickered through his mind, though he quickly shook those thoughts away. He was typically a good judge of character, and got zero psycho vibes from Matt. “Definitely a damsel in distress type. What can I say? I have a type. Heroic men who simply can’t say no to helping a defenseless young man,” he said cheekily, letting darting out to swipe out his lips before chuckling.
Enclosed in the small space of the car, Kai let his racing blood cool a bit in this brief intermission before what was to come. Matt was a hell of a kisser, and having that brief taste of the two pressed together, he really couldn’t blame himself for the physical reaction that was happening. And though he wanted to reach out to touch and tease, he decided that wouldn’t be the best course of action. “Not going to tie me up and leave me in your basement, are you?” he flippantly asked.
Sprain || Kai & Matt
matt--davidson:
The way they were going at it, Kai’s fingers teasing his skin while his very hand pushed into the softest hair imaginable. Matt pressed eagerly against him, aware that if they continued doing this against his care they were bound to draw attention and with such reluctance, which was very much felt like torture by this point because everything in his body wanted to see this through right now, Matt managed to pull his mouth away from him.
There was a heat along his lips, feeling traces which lingered from the bite Kai gave him. With a crooked smile, hair a little messy from their brief interlude, Matt said, “Never pegged you for a biter,” His hand slipped away from Kai’s hair, just enough for him to cupped his cheek and trace the underside of his full bottom lip before Matt went in once more to deliver a chaste kiss. “Bet you hadn’t thought about your sprained ankle during that,” he winked, and laughed to himself. “Come on. Lets get out of here. I’m taking you to my place.”
Leaning forward slightly, his lips chased after the others, not quite ready for it to end. Despite what it was leading to, Malakai was actually enjoying the feel of Matt pressed against him, in all the ways possible in the very public parking lot. But he leaned back against the car, hand releasing the shirt to move back to it’s previous spot on his hip. Cocking his head, a chuckle huffing out. “I’m sure there’s plenty that you never pegged me for, Matty.”
His voice was more than a little gruff, the want evident. Nodding, a cocky little smile slipped onto his face. He quite liked the sound of that. Because once they were no longer in such a public place, there would be nothing stopping them from proceeding, sans the clothes and caution they were currently displaying.”Sir yes sir!” he exclaimed, eyes locking on Matt’s before straightening up with a wink. Turning around to face the car, he tossed over his should a comment of, ”I knew you just wanted to get me alone.”
Sprain || Kai & Matt
matt--davidson:
If there was any question left, Matt completely forgot about it and he let out a low chuckle. “Then it looks like I know what we’re doing the rest of the day. We have to keep you off your foot anyway,” Okay, things were definitely heating up now and Matt’s eyes dropped to Kai’s; which were so full and had this kissable pout to it that he’d noticed after he caught on to the guy’s flirtations.
Matt, who was breathing heavily at this point, leaned closer and brought his large hand to palm the side of Kait’s neck; pressing his thumb into the guy’s blond hair and pulling him into his awaiting lips. When Matt started this run he thought he would leave and maybe get something to eat in town. Instead he had this guy, someone he just met, against his car and was planning on doing all sorts of things to later. Though right now, at this very moment, keeping as close to not only feel his entire firm body but to really get into the kiss, that definitely made him wish they were back at his place and not in the middle of this parking lot.
A buzz was thrilling through his skin as eyes flickered from eyes to lips and back. He saw it coming. Even wet his lips moments before the others were on his. It was a rush, kissing someone that until earlier, he’d never spoken too. It was exhilarating. His heartbeat, no doubt was flying as his other hand gripped at Matt’s hip as he pulled him close, grinding slightly against him.
Balling a hand up in the man’s shirt, his teeth dug into Matt’s lip gently before going back in to continue the kiss. It was heated and passionate, and Kai gave himself over to it. The hard surface that his back was pressed against was unforgiving, and while anywhere else would have been better, he definitely wasn’t going to stop what was happening currently just to move this along. The hand pressed against Matt’s back found skin, dipping slightly underneath the shirt, a thrill running from his fingers at that first touch of skin on skin.
Sprain || Kai & Matt
matt--davidson:
When was the last time he was called that? It had to have been some years and to come from Kai? There was something about it that made Matt actually not mind the name…They were close to the parking lot now and as he thought about what to say to this guy, who’d gotten him so fucking hot under the collar by this point that Matt felt himself get a little worked up. Since he didn’t get a chance to do his run, he could get his cardio another way.
Matt’s car was one of three in the parking lot, Matt curious where the other people were since they hadn’t seen anyone else on the trail. He let Kai lean on the car but Matt didn’t pull away. In fact he placed both hands on either sides of Kai’s body so that he leaned in to talk. With him somewhat off his foot and Matt not helping him move about, he could actually look this guy in the eyes. You’ve been talking up a lot about things gong down between us,” he started, moving a hand to lay on Kai’s side.
“I intend to find out just how good you feel,” Now his hand shifted and slid down Kai’s bicep,”Just like I bet you’re dying to find out just how good I can feel.” Maybe if this was another situation he wouldn’t have done this but by this point Matt wanted to find out for certain if this was actually happening or if this guy was only flirting with him.
There certainly had been a lot of talking. Most of it had come from Kai, though surprisingly, Matt had thrown in a few of his own. And as much as Kai talked, it wasn’t often that someone, particularly a man that he hadn’t met in a club or bar, seemed accepting of it. And the fact that he was a hot firefighter? Well, that was the cherry on top. Not to mention what seemed like a great sense of humor. He had managed to put up with all the lines Kai had used and hardly batted an eye at most of them. But he could tell he was getting to the other man.
Lips drawing into a smile as he was effectively bracketed between the car and the other’s body, Kai realized that leaning against the car he was just a bit taller than the other, making them eye to eye with the slight slouch in his shoulders. “I can definitely name a few things I’d rather be doing than just talking about what might happen between us.” With a single lifted eyebrow, he leaned forward just enough to press their chests together.
“I’d rather find out how good you feel without all the clothes in the way,” he murmured, letting a hand press against Matt’s chest and drag down teasingly slow. Stopping just about the waistband of his pants, circling around to press it flat against the others back. “Guess I’ll have to make due with what I can have.”
All work and no play || Malakai & Lex
lexingtonashworth:
Lexington had almost made it to the door when she felt his arms snake around her waist. Lex gasped, her hands gripping his arms out of instinct as he swung her around. His fingers tickling her sides had her letting out a laugh, but a true laugh. It was like, for the first time in months, Lexington didn’t feel weighed down by everything going on. She felt like she should be, young and not troubled by the pressure of her family and ancestors.
“Kai!” Lex shouted as she turned and caught up to him, sadly making her way through the doors just after he did. “That wasn’t fair!” She exclaimed as she reached out and grabbed his arm, slowing him down to her pace. “But, a deal is a deal. Pick the poisons.” she gestured to the back where their drinks would be held. “I’m gonna go grab some food for us, you know, so you don’t get too white girl wasted on me.” she grinned. “I’ll meet you up front at the check out?” she asked, not bothering to wait for him to confirm before she let his arm go and backed away.
Moments later, Lex would be standing in one of the lines, arms filled with different bags of food. Candy, chips, hell, even cookies. She glanced down at her phone, seeing a few missed texts, but quickly shoved it away before glancing back around to see if Kai was on his way up front yet.
Pumping up a fist in victory, he spun around, a wide grin on his face as he came to a stop just inside the store. “There weren’t any rules, Ashworth. You should know better!” he exclaimed, eyes looking towards where she pointed with a nod. “We both know the one most likely to get white girl wasted is you, Lex. I’ve learned how to hold my alcohol. Have you, young lady?” He called the last bit over his shoulder as he headed towards the aisles with the alcohol. This was going to be a good night, he could tell. Hell, it was already on it’s way to being one.
Gathering up as many bottles as he could rightly carry without fear of dropping them and made his way to the front. Arms loaded, his eyes scanned the lines for Lexington before spotting her at the back of one. Coming from the side she wasn’t looking at, his footfalls fell softly as he made his way up behind her. “Might wanna watch your back, Lex,” he managed to whisper in her ear before huffing out a laugh. He wasn’t sure if he had managed to startle her or not, but it didn’t ruin his fun either way.
As the person in front of them paid and left, Malakai set the different bottles on the belt before digging out his wallet and motioning her to add the snacks to it as well. “Like I said, I got it.” Not even blinking at the total, he slid a card quickly, leaving no room for arguments. “It's time to get this party started!”
Sprain || Kai & Matt
matt--davidson:
“That’s such a big thing to say there, Kai. What makes you so certain you’ll be the most heavenly? Are you an angel, too? Innocent. Angelic. I can-” Matt couldn’t even finish his sentence because he was doing his best to not laugh and walk this guy to the start of the trail because the last thing he wanted to do was move the wrong way and cause him to land on his injured foot. “Okay, Princess. Let me get you to the car and then we’ll talk about me keeping my eyes and hands on you because it’s damn hard do that while we’re walking like this.” Even while he spoke Matt wore such a big grin. Something he’d been needing as the last couple days been on the rough side. “Are you saying you twisted your own ankle just so this very moment would happen? You know you could have just asked.”
“I think I’ll leave it up to you to find out just how heavenly I am, Matty.” Tongue darting out to wet his lips, he dipped his head slightly, allowing himself to be led. Raising a brow, his fingers dug into the shoulder he was gripping as he stepped wrong. Wobbling slightly, Kai regained his balance with a grimace before letting the sly smile take it’s place once more. “You can take me where ever you like handsome.” A surprised chirp of laughter bubbled from his lips as he shook his head slightly. “Well, where’s the fun in that? Wouldn’t be as memorable as this little meeting has been. Doubt I’ll stray from your mind for very long, if at all, now.”
Sprain || Kai & Matt
matt--davidson:
“Of course you wouldn’t. That oh so angelic act you put on hasn’t fooled me for a second, Kai,” he chuckled as he shifted around and worked his hands along his body until he hoisted him up. At first glance Kait didn’t look as if he’d weigh much but Matt was surprised and he noticed as he balanced him in his arms that he actually was pretty firm; curious if he might get a chance to check out how he looked underneath these clothes. “You know it, Cinderella though this is more of a lift than an actual ride,” Matt looked at the ground, cautious of the spot Kai pointed out before and walked to the side of it. “Yeah. That’s absolutely it. Then we’ll have that storybook life and then maybe find a beanstalk and live up with the giants in the clouds,” Matt didn’t know what the fuck he was saying at this point. But he found it easy to talk this way around him. “When I came to this trail I thought I’d just get a few laps in. I didn’t think I’d walk out of here with a guy in my arms.”
“Sweetheart, you wound me,” he said, a faux pout pulling at his lips. “I’m the most heavenly thing you’ll ever have in your arms.” Throwing his arm over Matt’s shoulder, Kai sent the other man a wink accompanied with his smile turning into a smirk. Despite the circumstances of how the two had come to meet, he was honestly enjoying the little back and forth the two had going for each other. “Better keep you’re eyes and hands on me. The clock might strike midnight and I might go and turn into a pumpkin on you. ” As they moved forward, he really tried to balance on just the one leg without depending on the help of the other too much, so it was a slow moving pace with a bit of pain mixed with every step. “Sounds like it’s your lucky day. Seems like you’d have all the men falling all over themselves to get that chance though. I certainly did.”
All work and no play || Malakai & Lex
lexingtonashworth:
“Ow!” Lex said as she chuckled, her laughter a sign that he hadn’t hurt her at all. Her hand came up, swatting him on the shoulder as she sat back in her seat. He, once again, gave her options. Malakai was always good like that, showing her a good time yet still letting her pick the events in her own little ways. It truly had been too long since this happened.
“I say Rum and Vodka. We both know once the Rum is gone you’ll want something a little lighter.” She quipped as she reached forward for the handle, pulling it to open the door. She turned to swing her legs out, but paused to look back at him. “Who ever gets to the store first gets to pick the flavors.” She smirked as she pushed herself out of the car, taking a few steps towards the store front before looking back at him. “Hurry up, Kamdyn.”
He nodded his acceptance of her choices. She knew him well, knew his drinking habits. No matter how illegal it might have been, their first taste of alcohol had been years before they ever turned the legal drinking age. If he remembered correctly, they had snuck off to the same cave they were headed to that night. Though they had a cheap bottle of something to share between the two, they thought they were just the coolest. Never mind the grounded they subsequently received because of it all.
A challenge was definitely the way to get his attention. “No fair Ashworth!” he yelled at her head start has he threw his door open and hoped out. Chasing after her, a glint appeared in his eye as he reached out and circled his arms around her. Fingers digging into her sides as a tickle, Kai’s laughter flowed out easily. Lifting her easily, he spun her around so she was facing the car once more and started forward at a jog. “You’ll have to be better than that, Lex!”
