Barbie had an adventure to the real world alone and brought back her human Gloria, Gloria's daughter Sasha, and you, a new friend, Barbie, made along the way. The bright pinks of Barbieland welcomed you warmly as you stared in awe. The sunshine kissed your cheek, and the new plastic smell filled your nose. "That's Barbie...oh! And that Barbie... of course, we can forget Barbie." Gloria's Barbie points at almost every passing person as she drives along the beachside street. "Oh, and that guy over there is -" You cut her off, eyes widening in joy. "KEN!" You shout, causing Barbie to jump. "Um, yep, that's Ken... anyway, I live -" Once again, you don't let her finish. "Can we meet him?!" Everyone looks at you confused. "Really? You want to meet Ken?" Sasha asked. You nodded, excited. "I only ever had one doll growing up, and it was Ken. That Ken!" You pointed to the Ken, extremely excited. Barbie pulls over. "Why did you only have Ken? Why did you never get a Barbie?" Gloria asks as you exit the car. "I don't know. Let's not rehash my strange childhood." Barbie leads the way to the Ken you pointed to. She had hoped it could have been a different Ken, but oh well. He wasn't doing anything except standing around. "Ken!" She shouts, getting his attention. He turns around, and his face lights up when seeing Barbie. "Barbie!" He gives her a big hug welcoming her back. Ken's eyes are closed tight. "I missed you so much! I did so much beach while you were gone." Ken opens his eyes and begins to pull away from her when his eyes meet yours. You both immediately have an understanding that history has been through you both. Although Ken's never seen you before, you weren't a stranger to him. "K-ken?" Barbie asked, trying to get his attention. His dazed-out expression doesn't change as he gently moves Barbie. "Your..." He doesn't have to say it for you to start nodding. "You're... are you really my human?" He asked with an innocent puppy dog look. You began to get nervous. "Um yeah... I think so..." The quiet shock flips into uncontrollable joy. He hops up and down excited before picking you up and swinging you around in his arms. "My human! My human!" He shouts over and over as you laugh and hang on to him. "Why didn't you and Barbie do that?" Sasha asked her mom. "W-well, we were kinda in the middle of running from Mattel, so..." Ken laughed with you tightly, hugging you, never wanting to let go. "Wait!" He sets you down, holding onto your arms to look into your eyes. "You're y/n?!" You smile and nod. "Yeah!" Barbie jumped in. "How do you know their name?" Ken lifted their foot to show her your name was written on it. Barbie tilts her head. "I never knew you had a tattoo..." Ken turns all of his attention back to you. "You really played with me?!" You match his bounciness. "Yep! You were my favorite toy! I never went anywhere without you." Ken wanted to cry. Not only did you give him so much attention, but you love and care about him. "You hear that, Barbie! I was their favorite! I was their first pick." Barbie smiles happy for him. He turns back to you, his eyes full of sparkle. "What should we do first?!" Ken asks, excepting you to make all the decisions. "Oh, um... I don't know..." You look around the beach. "We could have a beach day." You suggest. "YES! I'm great at beach!" Ken grabs your hand and pulls you towards the beach. "Oh wait!" You stopped and turned to Barbie, Gloria, and Sasha. "You guys don't mind Monday if I run off with Ken, do you?" Gloria and Barbie shook their heads. "No, of course not. You're meant to have fun in Barbieland." Barbie says before watching you both walk off. "Kinda glad he's off my hands for the time being," Barbie tells Gloria as they head back to the car.

"And that's Ken... and that's Ken... and that's Ken." He says, holding your hand as you walk down the beach. "Oh and that's-" You cut him off. "Let me guess, Ken?" He smiles at your joke. "No, actually, that's Allan. He's a friend." Ken stops as he gets an idea. "I know what we should do!" You smile. "Okay, what?" "Skip!" You chuckle. "What?" "Well I thought of it when we were walking, just now, and I figured instead of walking, we should skip!" You go along with it figuring doing anything with someone who cared about him was exciting to Ken. You began to skip with Ken down the pink hard sand, holding his hand. His giggles fill the air. The action was clinch and goofy but joyful nonetheless.
Ken's presents brought back many old memories you had of your childhood. Your little plastic friend was always by your side. Everywhere you went, the beach, horseback riding, doctors' appointments, and more. Maybe that's all life-size Ken wanted. He also wanted to go back to the time where you loved him more thing any other toy. You stopped skipping causing Ken to look at you confused. "Why'd you stop?" You were silent for a moment. "I know what we could do." Ken's face lights up again. "What?!"

You sat on the edge of Barbies' bright pink couch with Ken on the floor in front of you. Gently, you run your fingers through his hair after the brush. A peaceful smile was found on Ken's blissful face. His eyes were closed, taking in the loving gesture. Barbie and her humans were up in her bedroom having a sleepover. She said you and Ken could sleep in the living room for your own sleepover. Honestly, you were happy to spend the night alone with Ken. It was peaceful. Then a thought crossed your mind. You recalled meeting Ken today he didn't recognize you. It was just an intuition he had. "Hey, Ken..." Your quiet voice breaks the silence enough to get his attention. "Mhm?" He hummed in response, still blissed out. "Do you remember me?" Ken's forehead wrinkled in confusion. "You're my human, y/n." He replied, not understanding what you were getting at. "I know that... and I know you know that, but... do you... actually, have any memories of us? Like from back when I played with you." You stop brushing his hair as he slowly turns to face you. He shakes his head like a sad puppy. "No..." You nod in a disappointed understanding. "But I know they happened." Ken continued carefully, taking your hand in his. "I don't know how I know, but I do. It's like... my soul understands who you are and how you loved me..." He lifts your chin to look at him before using his thumb to wipe away tears. "The love you gave me is a feeling so strong that even the coldest star can be relit a hundred miles away, so... even though I don't remember... I could never forget." He leans up and kisses your cheek before you fall forward into his arms sobbing at his words. Ken's large hand strokes your hair. "You're my human, and I'll always live you for it." You wrapped your arms tightly around his neck. He doesn't dare to let go. If he can give you even just an ounce of the unconditional love you gave him, then his little plastic life would be completed. He's your doll. Ken was made for you. Pulling back slightly. "I'm sorry, I don't remember our tone together in the real world, but I'm here now, so we can make lots of new awesome memories... if you wanna..." He says the last part, a tad shy, causing you to chuckle lightly through tears. "I'd like that..." You lend forward and return his kiss to his tan cheek. "I love you, Ken." Ken smiled. "I love you too, y/n."
