What is Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome?
God added "not tired when they should be" as a personality trait when I aged up into a teenager and I haven't known peace since
exhausted
I’ve started getting up at 8 am because in four weeks i’ll start my summer job that’ll have me waking up at 6am.
I’ve been tired for over a month now. Literally yawning left and right.
At first transitioning to waking up earlier, I was genuinely sleep deprivied because it took me two weeks to start falling asleep earlier.
Now, for a while, I’m sleeping enough. I’m going to bed earlier, falling asleep earlier - sleeping the same amount than before, but just earlier.
I’m exhausted.
E X H A U S T E D.
And that’s on adhd and delayed sleep phase.
Even when you fix the habit and force yourself to fall asleep earlier, the body knows it’s wrong. The sleep is happening, but it’s at the wrong time, and it’s not as restorative. I’m so done.
staring at blue lights these tired eyes won’t last in the darkness i’m wide awake and thinking i can’t seem to sleep properly these days, or ever. i get tired staring at computer or phone screens but not at the dark ceiling above. i fall into bed and feel awake all over again. i have to force myself to sleep, for my eyes to stay closed. my mind is still racing and won’t slow down. sometimes it’s useless or meaningless. other times it is crippling and deep. i can’t stop this cycle. i don’t know how to go to bed like a semi-functioning human being.
