saw someone mix up "abysmal" and "abyssal" today, so as a reminder:
her skills are abysmal = she is unskilled
her skills are abyssal = her abilities draw upon the forbidden power of the dark void
The princess does not have "depression," it's called an Air of Melancholy and it makes me very beautiful in a dignified and subtly tragic way

i actually tried to use chatgpt the other day
i'd spent a lot of time trying to figure out the original orientation of this painting, which you'll find in both left-facing and right-facing versions on the internet in equal amounts (very weird). preferably i'd want a museum page or official catalogue, but even with several different search engines i couldn't find anything except a book illustration based on the painting, in the british museum's collection
so i thought what the hell, just this once let's see if chatgpt's web scraping ~somehow~ has given it access to a better source that was eluding me.
so i asked chatgpt about the painting and it told me confidently that it originally faces right. when i asked for sources it linked me the book illustration at the british museum. when i pointed out that that was not conclusive evidence, chatgpt apologized and immediately said that the original painting definitely faces left, actually. i asked for sources again, and chatgpt apologized again and said it had none but it was fairly confident in its conclusion.
obviously i'm very LLM critical and did not expect much, but i had no idea my first attempt would demonstrate so quickly that it's a tool that tries desperately to agree with you. when i was critical of its methods it IMMEDIATELY flipped to the opposite answer and did not volunteer that its new conclusion had zero evidence to back it up.
there are people out there using this digital toady as some kind of omniscient advisor, basing medical and legal decisions on its answers and it's horrifying. please ask it for sources and give those the sniff test at the VERY LEAST

idk perhaps this is too early 2000s internet safety module of me but the amount of information you guys demand from each other is weird
nobody needs to know your real name or your hometown or where you work or your home country or your race or ethnicity or skin color or phone number or the name of your first pet or the model of your first car or your mother’s maiden name or how many siblings you have or what school you go to or your credit card number

honestly as evocative and brutal as it sounds, i don't even think "simon ripped his own arm off" is the most accurate possible phrasing. considering the circumstances i think it would be more precise to say he ripped himself off of his arm

your prophecy
dick makes people mentally ill. dick havers, dick wannabes and dick lovers are all insane. it's like toxoplasmosis, you have compulsive need to defend and push and worship dicks all the time and spead your dick mania to everywhere you go.
this seems rational and grounded in empirical evidence
