ok so i think the fact that el grew up isolated for a very long time with no concept of feminine or masculine makes it more interesting to me that she enjoys traditionally feminine stuff, cuz i feel like its less "im a girl so this is what i wear" and more "this is cool!! i wanna wear this!!", but it could be interpreted as the opposite

i def dont think thats what the duffers were going for tho the thought process was probably just "girl = girl stuff 😁"

i do wish tho that she could enjoy those things and not gaf about her appearance (the "pretty" stuff), considering for a large portion of her life so far no one told her oh youre so pretty, youre ugly, ur this or ur that yk
