“Okay?” She gasped, hopping up and running her hands over the arms of the coat. “You look handsome as hell.” Alina smiled. “I don’t wear pink in the show, but I could wear a pink dress after the show.” Slipping her fingers under the collar, Alina looked up at the man with a little smirk, “Then we can match on this post-show date you’re going to take me on.”

Malu looked down as she ran her hands over the soft fabric covering his arm. “Well.. thank you.. I should probably get more suits.” He mumbled looking in the mirror. Smiling, he chuckled as she messed with his collar. Malu was notoriously ticklish and even her bringing the collar closer to his neck made him laugh. When she mentioned a post-show date, he didn’t even question it. “Okay. I think matching on a first date is way cool.” He teased before stepping up where the tailor instructed him to. As the tailor started measuring his pants, he looked at her through the mirror. “ I think we might need to balance the fancy date with a fun adventure date...”

“Well, I won’t say no to that.” Alina laughed before he bent down to place a kiss to her forehead. She pulled him back and stole a kiss, still laughing against his mouth. “I know you are. You’re nothing if not the sweetest person I’ve ever met.” Alina wrapped her arms around his waist to the best of her ability, “I don’t get to help? Well, if I get music choice and oogling is allowed then I’m going to change and get right to it.” Reluctantly leaving him, she came back in a crop-top knit sweater in a soft violet and black leggings. While it covered hardly more than what she’d been in, she at least felt a bit more presentable, especially now that she had run a brush through her hair. Climbing onto a stool at the kitchen’s island she looked up at him, “Mango! YUM!” Her eyes only fell to her phone to pick a playlist. “Do you want relaxing music or booty wiggle music?”

Malu smiled and shook his head. “Absolutely not allowed to help. It’s Alina spoiling time.” He easily manuevered the knife around the mango before shopping it finely. Next he started chopping up a bell pepper, then an onion and a jalapeno. Throwing all the chopped pieces in a bowl, he tore up some cilantro with his hands, tossing it on top. Squeezing a fresh lime over the entire bowl, he tossed the bowl around making sure the lime juice evenly coated every piece. “Here you go.” He slid the mango salsa in front of her and opened a bag of chips he had brought. “Hope it’s not too spicy.” He said before washing his hands to make the actual meal. “I would love some booty wiggle music.” Malu loved cooking. It was relaxing and he felt such a great way to show your love for someone. “I even brought something for dessert but that’s a surprise.”

The corners of her lips turned up in a smile, “Is it really that surprising? To be fair, I guess I haven’t been in this city all that long.” Her cheeks were a warm pink as she waited for her new friend to come out in the wild tuxedo. When he did she sat up a bit more straight, her eyes washing over him in disbelief. “Honestly, is there anything you can’t pull of?” Hopping up out of the chair she closed the space between them and ran her fingers unashamedly up his arms, practically purring over the sensation of the soft fabric over his toned muscles. “I think it’s perfect. Do you like it?”

He looked at himself in the mirror, turning side to side. “Yeah? It looks okay?” He said as he messed with the cuffs of the jacket and finally smiled. “I like it. Definitely cool.” Frankly, he just really enjoyed that it was fuzzy. “Okay.. how do we like... make it fit?” He touched the loose waist of the pants and turned to Alina. “Wait, do you wear pink in the show? Will we be matching?” He said with a wide grin. “I look pretty good right?”

“You didn’t have to do that!” Alina’s laugh filled the apartment as she followed him to the kitchen. “You’re amazing you know that?” When he bent down she wrapped her arms over his broad shoulders, “Thank you for the birthday wishes.” Giggling as his bead tickled her face she nipped at his lip, “Don’t tease me for this outfit. I wasn’t expecting company!” Her eyes looked over the items, “Do you want help? I can get changed and put an apron on.”

“It’s your birthday! I want to spoil you!” He smiled and leaned forward kissing the top of her forehead. “I’m not teasing you!” He said emphatically as he rested his hands on her hips and pulled away to look down at her. “I like it! It looks comfy.” Malu squeezed her hips gently. “You aren’t supposed to help. That’s not how birthdays work. How about you find some music for us to hang out to while I cook.” He started unpacking the bags and grabbed a knife from the knife block on her counter. “Gotta start you off with an appetizer.” He started shopping up a fresh mango.

Malu was not the type to let special occasions go without acknowledgement. Knowing it was Alina’s birthday, he got up earlier than usual to go to the gym. After his workout and shower he went straight to the grocery store to pick up everything he needed to make her a special birthday meal. At her door, he smiled wide as she invited him in. “Hi beautiful.” He leaned down and gave her a quick kiss before leading himself into her kitchen. “I got stuff to make you a birthday dinner.” He smiled as he unpacked, before turning to look at her. “I like this..” He gestured to her outfit before walking up to her and placing his hands on her hips. Alina’s smile mirrored his and as they talked she continued to periodically spurt into a little fit of giggles. “You are the strangest man I’ve met in my life… and I love it.” Her eyes moved over the phone case and back to the suit. “Then I guess we just have to go with the pink one because now I’ll be disappointed to see you in anything else.” It was a relief to hear the employee say that they not only had the suit in available in an appropriate size but that the tailor was in to take care of adjustments. “Looks like it’s our lucky day.” Alina twirled around and sat in one of the chairs by the mirrors. “Give me a good show, handsome.”

“I am?” He laughed shaking his head. “There is no way that is true. We are in LA.” He said as he held the pink suit a little closer to him. When the employee said the tailor was in, Malu asked to use one of the dressing rooms. “Is there like... a shirt or something I should be wearing underneath?” When the employee rushed to grab him a white button up, he stuck his arm out to grab it. Getting fully dressed, he chuckled as he walked out of the dressing room, giving a twirl in front of Alina. “Okay.. how does it look?” He didn’t dare move his arms too high just to be careful with the material.

He’d started touching things before Alina could keep dragging him to the back of the store. “It’s a real suit, not a joke. I need this in my life” With a giggle, she took his hand and tugged him toward the back of the store where she saw an employee moving around.

“Oh dang I really wanted to know.” He said, monotonously. He couldn’t hold a straight face for long though, and his cheeks instantly raised back up in a smile. When she asked if he had the confidence for the pink suit he raised an eyebrow. “I wear this color all the time.” He pulled his phone out of his pocket to reveal a pale pink polka-dot phone case. It really was his favorite color. It reminded him of home. “Okay cool.” He held the soot out gingerly in front of him to avoid dropping it. Following her he looked at the employee. “Excuse me.. do you have more of these?” He said gesturing lightly with the hanger in his hand.
