HOLIDAY MAMA HAWK HEADCANONS PLEASE!!!!

Let’s say that they all celebrate Winter Solstice~

The first Solstice after Edward becomes a State Alchemist, he and Alphonse aren’t able to make it home to spend time with Winry and Pinako. After hearing this, Riza invites them over to her place to celebrate it. She makes hot chocolate and a small dinner for herself and Edward. She gives Alphonse a book and Edward a new chain for his pocket watch.

After the boys learn that she really doesn’t have any family to celebrate the holiday with, they make sure to invite her to celebrate with them in Resembool every year after that.

She always gets them little things that they need each year, even if they didn’t know that they needed it. 

Because she grew up with very little money to buy new clothes, etc., she learned how to repair or hand make a lot of things. She hand makes every gift for Ed and Winry’s children.

After eating some of the baked sweets Riza made for Winter Solstice the first year Ed and Al celebrated it in East City, Edward craves them every year. She always makes extra for him, and then makes double what she normally makes after the Promised Day to send to Ed, Winry, and Alphonse each year.

The boys always make what they get her, too.; from new earrings to scarves (scarves especially after the Promised Day to hide the scar on her neck).

Got any Halloween/spooky mama!hawk headcanons?!?!

OH MAN!!!!

The one (1) time the boys were legitimately scared by a spooky prank the rest of Team Mustang was the one (1) time Riza participated. They figured that if she was acting the way she was, then whatever was happening must have been true. She was also the first one that they laughed with and forgave; the rest of the team got the cold shoulder for a few days.

Pretending that a candy gathering holiday exists in Amestris, she’ll always send little sweets to Edward and Winry’s children if she isn’t around during that time of the year. A lot of the things she sends she made herself.

There was another year where she didn’t participate in the spooky prank so the rest of the team kept her out of the loop. Her cluelessness, however, ended up backfiring because it played into the joke quite well. The team got the cold shoulder from her for a few days because Ed and Al (mostly Ed) got fired up by the prank and did not appreciate it.

She loves fall and enjoys that time of year; she has since she was young. She’ll on occasion make fun little things that Ed and the rest of the team love. She gives Al the recipe, and then sends ones she makes herself every year after he gets his body back.

I don’t know how, but this cheetah’s face screams Riza to me. The two smiling cubs remind me of Ed and Al of course. But the mom’s protective glare just seems to embody Riza Hawkeye.

Imagine Riza has a lil vet scare with Hayate and the Elrics hear about it, they happen to be in the city and meet Riza at her apartment with flowers and a get well soon bone for Hayate.

Got any headcanons for mamahawk post promised day?

Riza knows Al has a growing list of foods she has made that he wants to eat, so she brings dishes to the hospital for him to eat once he is able to eat solid foods.

After they arrive home, she calls every couple of weeks to check up on them and to make sure they’re both doing well as they continue to heal.

She is the first person Ed calls to tell about his engagement to Winry. It’s only fit seeing how he realized he was in love with her after Riza mentioned it.

She is a big part of Edward and Winry’s wedding, helping them organize it and helping set up when the big day comes. She doesn’t stand in it, but she has a front row seat. She does steal a dance with Ed, though, and it’s very similar to a mother and groom dance. 

She visits the Elric-Rockbell household at least 2 times per year, more if there is a special event (such as birthdays) going on.

Riza is there when Winry gives birth to their first child and she stays with them for two weeks after her discharge from the hospital to help them out with the baby. They can’t help but notice during that time how well she does with children of all ages.

The Edwin kids are constantly in a toss-up, alternating between referring to her as their aunt and thinking of her as a grandmother-like figure because of the way she treats Ed and Uncle Al.

Alphonse visits her for tea every time he is in Central. He isn’t able to always call ahead so she always has his favorite teas on-hand.

The Elrics send her flowers every Mother’s Day, and once their kids are older they do the same. Over time, she ends up with a garden in her apartment once per year.

Riza will always ‘accidentally’ make too much food for herself and will bring it to work to give to Edward because she ‘won’t be able to finish it all by herself.’ Sometimes she’ll casually swing by their dorm on the weekend with some because ‘she was in the neighborhood.’ Alphonse now has a separate list just dedicated to things Riza has made that he wants to try once he gets his body back.

Related to the headcanon above: Riza saw the list once and memorized it, so once Alphonse got his body back and was able to eat solid foods, she make and bring them to the hospital for him to eat.

Riza wasn’t sure what to do with a lot of her Father’s old books he kept in his study so she gifted them to Alphonse to read at night. Once he exhausts a lot of them, she’ll go with him to the library to pick some out when it’s time for her to pick up some for herself.

Every time Edward’s automail dysfunctions Riza will do his hair for him braiding it the way he taught her.

Even though the boys are both capable of protecting themselves, there are still nights where she lies awake wondering how they are if the Colonel hasn’t heard from them in a while.

She’s the first person Edward calls to tell after his engagement to Winry. 

The Elrics send her flowers every Mother’s Day because they recognized early on how much she cares about them and they want to let her know how much they appreciate her.

There was only one instance of Edward being picked on by someone in the military. Only one. Because once word got to Riza she had a ‘discussion’ with the individual and her ‘discussion’ with him spread very quickly. 

The boys took to her very quickly and found her so easy to talk to because: 1) She has an East Amestrian accent (just like them) and 2) She is honest and open with them from the get-go.

When Ed and Winry’s kids were very young they’d often be very confused when their parents told them Riza wasn’t ‘grandma’ because to them she acted just like a mother to Edward. She tells them that they can call her anything they like.
