Welcome to #DickQuest2K26!
FAQ
Q: What is this blog? A: This blog is the world's laziest passion project, AKA an attempt to get Starkid to upload the Me and My Dick soundtrack to Spotify. Essentially, we'll just be making a post a day asking Starkid's official Tumblr.
Q: How often will you ask? A: No more than one post a day!
Q: Can you also ask them about [xyz Starkid soundtrack/property]? A: It's great that you have a passion for Starkid's other works! They're an awesome company. However, the purpose of this blog is to give some love to Me and My Dick. You're more than welcome to create something similar! <3
Q: Why do you care about whether or not Me and My Dick is on Spotify? It's one of their first musicals and a lot of it hasn't aged well. A: A few reasons!
1.) As an independent company that puts out its musicals for free, I want to do what I can to support it officially! I don't have an Apple account and the soundtrack isn't available for purchase on Starkid's Bandcamp so I don't have the means to do that. A lot of my favorite songs have never been covered on any of Starkid's tours.
2.) It's reasonable to point out the fact that a lot of it hasn't aged well. However, I don't think it's so deplorable that it should be ignored by its parent company. It's still a fun and strangely endearing musical! I consider it a product of its time and appreciate the positive elements of it but also hold criticism for some of those other parts. Regardless, I still appreciate the progressive bits of the show even if the execution of them is dicey. If you're not interested in listening to it on Spotify, that's okay! This blog and quest isn't for you and I hope you're able to find another corner of the internet that is.
3.) I just think that "Land of the Dicks" and "Finale" deserve to be loved for what they are in all their glory on Spotify. 😌
Q: What's your normal blog/[social media account]? A: Sorry! I'm not comfortable stating that. This account will tag Starkid's official blog, and my standard blog contains fan content that I'd like to remain separate from creators, whether they're Starkid themselves or other people or companies affiliated with Starkid. I'm sure if you did some basic digging it wouldn't take that long to find it but I won't be confirming it if you ask me. I'm of the belief that a majority of fan spaces should be separate from creators unless the creators themselves organize it.
Q: When will you stop posting? A: When the soundtrack is released to Spotify! ...Or if I either get bored or forget. I have a full-time job so we'll see who dies first.
Please do not repeatedly tag Starkid in my posts! Once a day is enough to get the point across!
