12.7 Assessing Instant Story #7

This story is basically about maturity. The girl used to be the easy-go-lucky girl and one of the cool ones until she got pregnant. This story can develop more if the pregnancy will be one of the plot points (plot point 1, maybe) and the midpoint would be when her child dies after deciding to finally keep the child and not have it aborted. It’s going to be all about growth—physically and mentally. It’s about how a single mistake can change one’s whole life. Since her child dies by accident too, it’s about fate and misfits. A parent, the girl’s, can be added as a main character that will influence the protagonist the most. It can add more perspective as to how a parent feels when her child is ‘pariwara’ yet a parent will always accept whatever decision her children have. This story can progress if the plot point two would be about the girl entering college life again—her life before getting pregnant, but now, as a changed person. One of the good girls now, maybe.

12.6 Assessing Instant Story #6

This story is about wrong love perceived as true. It basically tells how girls always perceive the present love as the truest of all. It’s about ‘katangahan’ of girls when it comes to love. The girl in this story is the kind of girl blinded by love—the martyr kind of lover. This story can progress by putting more ‘katangahan’ of the girl when it comes to love—like the things she does for the guy, words she say, friends she defy just for the man she thought is her true love. Other than that, it can also try to shift focus to the guy who takes girls for granted. It’s a perfect mismatched couple—a dumb girl when it comes to love and relationships, and a guy who takes everything for granted. It’s about showing how not all relationships work out, and why. It’s impossible that only one person in the relationship does the mistake—this story aims to show that both parties have to have committed a mistake to have a relationship break.

12.5 Assessing Instant Story #5

I like story to be about a pre-break-up story—things a couple undergo before breaking up. I’ve seen films about getting together, breaking up or even post-coital short films, but to be different, I want this story to progress as to how break up really goes. What goes into the minds of each person—the guy and the girl. How the last kiss tastes or feels like, how to say the perfect words to lessen the pain of breaking up and how they see life the minute when one of them walks out. This can be snapshot—but showing both of the perspectives of the girl and the boy. I wanted to show that in a relationship, someone loves more than the other. In this story, the boy did. The next day, he committed suicide. As much as he was the one who loved more, he was also the weaker one. The story ends with the news, and that the girl will never even know about it for she left the country.

12.4 Assessing Instant Story #4

This story is about a failing mother-daughter relationship. It’s about growing apart and growing further apart. The girl in the story isn’t really close to her mother but at some point, her mother tries to be close to her just because her son died. The mother is scared to lose her daughter too but the daughter is taking it as ‘only paying attention to her just because her brother died’, or being a second choice. It’s all about lost chances and opportunities that are taken for granted. It’s about a techy-generation where a mother stays in touch through texts. Being a child of modern generation, the girl just ignores the simple gestures of her mom that show how much she cared about her. The stranger who sat beside the girl, intentionally, is an angel of death. The girl tells her the catch between her and her mother. She tells the stranger the story of her family, life, etc. In the end, the bus she was in gets into an accident. The girl dies. It aims to show how death is inevitable any moment. This story can be a ‘day in the life’ kind of story.

12.3 Assessing Instant Story #3

Basically, this story is about troubled teenagers who thinks life is about vices and romances. Again, this is a coming-of-age story of a girl who had been into smoking before but stopped for some reason. This story can be improved by showing the reason why. Then something triggered her into smoking again—a guy who smokes. She liked him, but the guy had his eyes on her friend, who was a smoker. Basically, that made her smoke again. She wanted attention because she was smitten by this smoker. There should be something about this guy that will make the girl stop smoking again. It was a typical love at first sight, and how typical it was to be a wrong kind of love. It should tell more about lives of troubled teenagers, not just the main character’s. It can be like #Y, where it tells other points of view—some may be of her friends’. However, I want this story to be something like, “I want to live long” kind of story. Unlike #Y, this story can be about a girl who wants to live long but because of excessive smoking, she dies. Broken dreams and wrong decisions.

12.2 Assessing Instant Story #2

This story is about how a wife moves on from being lied to by her own husband. It’s about broken trust in a relationship. From that, this story can progress by some flashbacks which will show the relationship between her and her husband before he was put behind bars. It can also be improved by using both flashbacks and present time simultaneously. The necklace that was mentioned can have a story behind.  It can be improved by showing her daily routines before and after her husband was jailed. The story can progress to aim giving back the trust to her husband or not. Or this story can also make the wife meet another guy—will she be ready to trust yet another man in her life?

12.1 Assessing Instant Story #1

This story is underdeveloped. But in a way, this story, as I have pictured it, is a character-driven story. It’s about a girl who is always so, so clumsy. It’s about her being a shape-shifter—like she’s different based on the people she’s with or the environment she’s in. It’s about her struggle to fit in to the crowd she’s in. A conflict will arise when someone notices her different personalities—typical coming-of-age story where rumors will spread and start to destroy the protagonist’s image. This story will be about the girl striving to change the way people see her now—‘plastic’ or fake. Little did she know that in her different groups (org, class, block, etc.), there’s one person who’s always present in those groups. A distant girl or guy will do—who noticed the same thing—she changes according to the group she’s in. However, this person will be the one who will help the girl overcome this stage. Her character should develop—which means that she’ll stop trying to fit in, remove all her insecurities and worries, and just be one person in front of all.

She was the YOLO kind of girl who had piercings and tattoos on her body. She used to have two or more boyfriends at the same time. (9.7)

But she got pregnant at the early age of eighteen. And now she was just twenty-five and she was carrying her third child already. People in their neighbourhood talked about her and how she was going to name her baby. (5.5)

She realized that Filipino families are still very family-oriented as they celebrated the birthday of one of their children and people surrounding their table were still with their families. She was happy to be with her own family too. (8.4)

It was the last thing she could remember—the meal. She woke up after fourteen hours of lying almost lifeless on the hospital bed. (7.4)

The baby in her womb was forced out of her—a bullet was randomly shot earlier and it struck her belly. (6.4)

11.6 Didn't She Almost Have It All?

She sat alone in a coffee shop. She had her iPhone with her. She kept texting someone. Her boyfriend. (10.4)

She’s expensive—she’s a rich kid. At the moment, other than her gadgets, she had a box of shoe—a gift for her boyfriend. She waited for him with patience until he really didn’t show up. (9.6)

She ended up watching the movie alone by herself. People around her cried because of the movie—but she sobbed for different reason. (3.5)

She realized her boyfriend was just as how he treated his pairs of shoes. He could also be the owner himself—he picks his girls, he picks a girl he’d want to have for the day, for a week, for a month or two, for a year or more. But the sad part was that  she was once one of those pairs of shoes he had. He’d keep coming back to her. He’d also be so close to not using her anymore. And that scared her. (9.4)

11.5 A Love To Die For

She was desperately looking for a spot to get a good wifi-connection to reply to the job offered to her abroad. (1.6)

A guy who wore a long-sleeved polo shirt and he paired it with a pair of denim pants. He wore a semi-formal pair of shoes. He looked like a newly employed man or a fresh grad one. He was her boyfriend. (4.5)

He kissed her on the cheeks. He immediately smelled the perfume he gave her as a gift. It was strawberry-scented. It was his favorite scent on her. (2.2)

They didn’t stop kissing—even at the public place. People looked at them, disgustedly. But they didn’t mind. They were lost in their own world. (5.2)

The next day came, the guy had a suicide. The girl left him for the job abroad. It was all over the news. (6.7)

11.4 Intuition

Her daughter just left and she texted her right away. Once her daughter got inside a bus—on her way to the city, she looked really grumpy while texting. It was her mother who was always paranoid whenever she leaves the house. (10.1)

After an hour, a girl took a seat beside her. The girl sitting beside her began talking to her. She seemed really friendly and asked where she was from. They began talking about their hometown. (5.6)

She told the stranger why she was headed to the city. She was looking for her mentor years ago in writing. She wanted to pursue that career to settle her future. (9.5)

The mother kept texting her—her daughter in the bus never texted back. Then she saw on the news an accident wherein two died and two were injured. (6.3)

11.3 Almost Love at First Sight

A girl was standing beside her friend who was taking a short yosi-break. She looked around her and saw a guy who was smoking. He was busily looking at his phone while he puffed his second stick. (1.3)

It smelled smoke. The stinging smell was strong that did not just burn the lungs of the smokers around her, they were burning hers too. But she was used to it. Most of the teenagers like her smoke. (2.6)

Her friend asked her if she smoked, she finally admitted she used to. With just a little nudge from her friend, she found herself drawn back into the vice she used to stop herself from doing. She took a stick of cigarette from her friend and puffed it. (5.4)

Suddenly, the guy paid attention to her. They exchanged gazes. But she quickly looked away when they heard a noisy drumline. It was the pep squad promoting recruiting for new members. She looked back at the guy—he was still looking at her. Suddenly, the sound of the drums faded. She heard her heartbeat faster than usual. It sounded more like the drums. (3.7)

She realized the guy wasn’t actually looking at her. He was looking at her best friend. She suddenly didn’t like him. And the next days pass, he was always there. She hated him from then on. (8.1)

11.2 Lonesome

She looked happy and spent the day with her best friend. She was having a hard time at home so she was eating her pain away. They were like Hansel and Gretel that day. (7.7)

They separated ways on the way home. It rained really hard and when she got home, she was really soaked. She was even wearing her new shoes from her husband. (7.1)

She was changing her clothes and stripped them off when she noticed she was wearing a necklace. It was a pendant from her husband. (9.1)

She suddenly received a call, it was from the prison. It was her husband. She listened to his voice, not believing any of the words he was saying. All she knew was that he was a convict. He lied to her. (6.1)

11.1 Clumsy

A girl and a boy sat across from each other and were talking about a game app called Clash of Clans. (5.1)

The guy left for a while to buy food. The girl accidentally spilled her papercup of soft drinks to a stranger walking beside their table at the moment. She was very sorry for what happened. (1.1)

The man behind their table was disturbed from reading his copy of the newspaper and folded it harshly, rather making it sound for the girls to hear him and let them know they were distracting. (3.1)

The girl left with the guy when he came back after a while. (1.1)

She was taller than the guy and she has fair skin and long hair. (4.1)

She came home and went to her room—it was really girly. She quickly took her bottle of sanitizer. She cleaned her hands after a long drive home. (4.1)

It smelled like a coconut oil everywhere in her room. She realized it wasn’t the sanitizer bottle, it was the massaging oil bottle. (2.1)

10.7 The Sunglass Shopper

Oh, this sunnies look so nice. Bagay kaya? O, mura! My sister should see this! Wait, nasa’n na ba siya? Hay. Fine. I should call her.

Oh, that pair is so cute too! My sister should be here so we can buy this cute pairs of sunnies!!! I so love Georgina, I love this Sunnies by Charlie more! Should I buy a pair of shades or specs? I can buy one of each. Pointless kung specs pero—I can use them. Pam-porma lang. Adorbs ng frame, o! Php 399.00 lang, everything!

Wait, sa’n ba ‘to. Sa gitnang stall lang, malapit sa… Ok, there. My sis should be here any minute now. We should buy one, at least one, totally!!!

Hmm, the sunnies that girl is holding look nice. I like that. Should I get that? I should get that. Should I? Wait, there’s the same pair of different color. So brown or black? Black. Definitely. But how about I buy brown to be different naman? Pero hirap kasi i-pair. BUT since it’s going to be a little rainy soon… Should I buy? Should I still buy?

But I am already here. But it’s not the last pair. Should I buy. Should I buy.

Where the hell is my sister. I should ask for her opinion. Pero sure ako, bibili ‘yon.

I so want to buy too!!! Maybe three. OK that’s corny.

Nasa’n na ba—oh, there! FINALLY! YAY!

Why did she take that pair. I like those. Should I buy something the same as my sister’s? Pointless. Sayang. OK fine. I will buy specs.

But that sunnies though… OK fine I’ll buy both.

10.6 The Secret Fangirl

Wait. OMG. O M G. I know that song. I know that song!!! God I officially love this place. Forever. I will always visit this place! GOD that is one of my favorite KPop songs! Well, there must be a reason why it’s K-Pub right. Right? RIGHT?

OHMYGOD that’s an SNSD song. Aww—I miss them! I hope they have a comeback soon! Wait, I heard TTS will have a comeback this September? I so adore Taeyeon! I don’t care if she’s dating that guy from another KPop Group—EXO, EXO. Yeah, I think he’s from EXO. Taeyeon is my bias! God I can flip tables in happiness! I definitely want to dance with the waiters right now.

That’s freakin’ Mr. Mr. I love that song! Okay. Maybe I’m biased because I like Girls’ Generation a lot. God, I can live in this place forever. I won’t mind! At all!

I should tweet this—yep. Wait, I can take a short video of the music video playing in the background with the waiters dancing… So Instagram-able!

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Taeyeon! That part of the song! So sexy! I am taking a lot of control on myself not to dance with the waiters.

Ahhhhhh it’s close to its end….

OMO! OMG! Wait. Is that—omg!!! Another SNSD song!!! Is this—oh! Beep Beep! It wasn’t even released that… OMG! Aww, cutie Sunny! She is so adorable—oh Taeyeon!!! YOU. ARE. SO. CUTE!!!

10.5 The Maid

Maglilinis na naman. Hay, buhay.

May tao kaya sa mga unit ngayon? Parang palagi nasa labas ang mga dalagita ngayon, e. Nako, noong panahon ko naman, lahat nasa loob ng bahay ang mga babae! Sana may tao naman, gusto ko maglinis para may pangkape man lang.

Ay nakoooo. Sabi na nga ba, punung-puno na naman ‘tong mga basurahan nila. Dapat si Joseph naglilinis nitong mga basura, e. Ako na naman magbibitbit pababa lahat sa mga ‘to. Tsk tsk tsk. Ang dumi! Ke dudumi ng mga nakatira dito. Tatapon lang ng basura, sala-sala pa sa tapunan. Hay, naku! Ayos lang naman sana kaso palagi na lang ganito.

Ay sana pala may tao sa 3rd floor at nang makahingi ng pangkape. Mapapangkain na rin namin ni Enda ng tanghalian pag malaki-laki ang bigay.Tapos manunuod kami ng Eat Bulaga mamaya. Tamang-tama! Magpapalinis naman sa Penthouse sa hapon pa. Hapon naman palagi dumadating sina Ma’am.

Hay, basura! Kaw—sayang naman ‘tong mga pagkain. Di naman inuubos! Bili ng bili, itatapon lang. Di nanghihinayang. Pag may pera ba, gano’n na? Pagkain pa rin naman ‘tong mga binibili nila. Kung di maubos, pwede naman itago. Bakit ba tinatapon kagad?

Pahirap din mag-ayos ng basura pag ganito, e. Hirap paghiwahiwalayin. Ang kakalat ng mga ‘to. D’yos ko. Sala-sala na lang palagi! Apawan na, tinatapunan pa rin. Pupwede namang ilagay muna sa isang malaking plastic. Nako, susme.

Nasa’n na ba ‘tong si Enda. Nang may makatulong naman sa pagbibitbit ng mga basura. Ang dami talaga pagkaka-Sabado at Linggo!
