hi! my name is Lea (pronounced “Lee”), I’m a 25 year old non-binary person, and I use they/them pronouns. I have been roleplaying on and off for almost 13 years, but Marvel & its fandom has found a special place in my heart when it comes to RPing. this blog is an independent, selective, headcanon-influenced Bucky Barnes. before we interact, I have a few simple rules. these are just the basics; there is a much more detailed list of these on my blog - please take the time to read those as well if you can.

1) no god-modding, obviously.

2) the mun and muse are both 25+, so this blog is for writers 21 and over.

3) respect my pronouns and identity or get a hard block.

4) several triggering & NSFW topics will be mentioned. all topics will be tagged as " cw [content] ", and any smut will be placed under a 'read more.' if there is ever a topic you want to see tagged, just send me a message and I'll add it to my list.

5) this is a low activity blog. my most active days are Sunday through Tuesday, and I never post replies on Fridays or Saturdays but will often still reblog ask memes. responses may be slow due to a number of reasons, the main being that a) I have a full-time job, and b) I have awful ADHD which I don't take medication for.

6) I don’t have time or patience for drama, so if you ever have a problem with me or my blog or anything at all, just come to me and talk it out. I’m always willing to hear what you have to say as long as you’re not rude or mean about it.

7) I don’t always turn ask replies (given or received) into threads, so please don’t be offended if you answer an ask and I don’t reply to it (or vice versa); if I want to turn it into a thread, I’ll ask you if it’s okay with you and go from there. Likewise, if you want to turn an ask reply into a thread, just let me know! I’ll be happy to add it to my drafts.

8) I don't use much formatting aside from small text. if iconless threads and/or threads with little to no formatting aren't your thing, cool! I respect that, but that probably means I'm not the mun you're looking to write with.

9) this is a multi-ship blog. each ship it in its own timeline/verse unless otherwise stated. I ship if there is chemistry between our muses. please don't force ships or assume our muses are in a relationship. let's have our muses interact first and see where it goes!

i hope you’re all well! i know i kinda disappeared off the face of the planet and i’m super sorry about that. i appreciate everyone who checked in on me, you don’t know how much i appreciate that 🧡

i wanted to let you all know i’m fine, i’ve just been busy with life and work and all that totally super fun adult stuff. and to be honest, my muse + motivation have just kinda died over these past few weeks. i have no will to write anymore (and even if i did i’d definitely be starting from scratch).

i don’t want to keep my followers in the dark about anything, so i figured i’d post this notice and let you all know that i am officially going on hiatus. there’s no set end date to this, but i’m hoping it won’t last longer than the summer. i’m holding out hope that one day my muse will return, but in the meantime i’m not gonna force anything. i also wanna apologize to everyone i had a thread with as well for dropping the ball so epically, i hope that in the future we can write together again.

World domination is not on the agenda at any time. FRI might have that in her agenda after I pass, but I think she’d be a benevolent dictator.” 

“Oh, sure. Just think of all the children’s hearts you’d break — that’s enough motivation right?” He jokes back, smirking around the chip he’s popped into his mouth. “Somehow I doubt ‘robot overlord’ would go over well with the people of Earth. Didn’t we already have a whole battle over that?”

Sam smirks as he nudged the other. “Come on say it. Tell me that you love me.” He giggles as he sips his beer. “Let’s curl up and watch movies!”

Sam smiles sweetly at Bucky curling into him more as he sits there content on not leaving till he was either forced to or had to get up and pee. Bucky’s description of the movie made him laugh, “You mean Friday the 13th?” He giggles a bit, “Man I know Steve was working on songs and stuff. But maybe you need to make a list of movies to watch.”

“Hey, I know movies. A little.” Bucky replies. To be fair, Steve had left him a small list, but he had yet to work his way through it. “But there’s - like - ten different movies where ‘guy in mask kills people.’ How am I supposed to know all of them?!” It felt like an overused trope, but given that he hadn’t actually seen any of them yet, he figured he might as well give one a chance. How bad could it be? “C’mon, quit makin’ fun of me and put it on.”

Up until now, Bucky had been feeling particularly miffed that Steve made him go to this ridiculous gala that Tony was throwing. ‘You’re an Avenger now, you gotta go! C’mon, maybe Thor’ll show up for the afterparty and bring that magic liquor you like.’ Ultimately that’d been what convinced him, but in the meantime he was stuck suffering through endless and excruciating amounts of small talk. Most of it he tuned out, but every now and then someone addressed him and he was forced to pull an about-face to make it look like he had actually been listening.

He was talking (or rather, listening to Steve talk to) some politician when his wandering gaze caught sight of Darcy from across the room. If anyone would shamelessly vent to him about how awful this thing was, it was her.

Quickly excusing himself from the conversation, Bucky turned and motioned at her to get her attention, earning him several disgusted looks from the people around him which he, of course, ignored. Given how busy the event was and how distracted he’d been trying to keep up with all this diplomacy talk, he wasn’t sure if she’d just arrived or if she’d been here for awhile, but either way, he sure was glad to see her. He pushed his way through the sea of socialites and diplomats to get to her side, which surely didn’t do him any favors in terms of popularity.

“Hey Darce,” he said when he was within arm’s reach, “You got roped into coming to this ridiculous thing too?”

Darcy loved a good party, and who didn’t? But this was.. Too much. Everything was way too fancy and the food was way too tiny, but hey it tasted great and they had an open bar. She only accepted to come because Jane promised her good food and she wasn’t wrong, just the quantity of the food was a bit disappointed.

That and there were a lot of douches who tried to talk to her but instead of looking at her lovely eyes, they were staring at her boobs and she wasn’t having it. She’d just ignore if it was just one guy but after the fourth one, she made it her mission to hide from people.

Well. Most people. But she was okay with him finding her, that’s the kind of company she needed right now. She smiled at him as she shook her head slightly. “Jane made me come but she’s feeling sick so she left me on my own. Who made you come to this thing? Steve? Can you believe how tiny  the food is?”

“You know it.” He confirmed, glancing towards where Steve was still chatting away with some of the other Avengers, laughing as Thor gesticulated wildly. Eyes found their way back to Darcy, and then to the little plate she held in her hands which was covered in an assortment of tiny foods, most arranged on fancy-looking crackers. He picked one up and inspected it, wondering if it’d be better to just hold out till he got home. “That is... disappointing. What is this, food for ants?” He shook his head, popping the little thing into his mouth and making a face when it tasted too strongly of capers. “So, what’s this thing for anyway? You know when there’s this many politicians in a room it can never be good.”

IT WAS HER FIRST WEEK at the Waterford’s residence, the first seven days as Offred. She had learned not to be attached to names in this society, but it was like a knife to the heart every time she was reminded of her own dehumanization by taking her name, her body and all of her rights away from her, just because she was young enough to bear children to the rich and influential. The Waterfords hadn’t been terrible so far. She did as she was told and hid away aside from that, so she was blessed to be left alone for now. Until the ceremony came around, but she still had around three days left. 

It was late at night and everyone had gone to bed hours ago. She barely ate during the day, riddled by grief over the loss of her daughter and brother, but sometimes she got insufferably hungry at night and sneaked into the kitchen. Rita always left some food for her in the fridge. This night, someone else was sitting at the table and Wanda froze in the doorway, very conscious of being in her nightgown, hair openly flowing over her shoulders. In another world she wouldn’t have cared, but this was Gilead and she could be beaten for it. Especially when she appeared like this in front of a man, a GUARD. “I’m sorry”, she stammered and contemplated what to do, before hastily hurrying towards the fridge to take out the plate Rita had placed there with a sandwich, keeping her head bowed, hands shaking. Please don’t report me, please don’t report me.

They were both treading on thin ice here, but Wanda couldn’t help but enjoy the thrill of it. The monotony of her life had lulled her into a state of complete numbness. She woke up in the morning, did the shopping and then hid away in her room for hours on end, just staring out of the window, trying not to think about anything, because thoughts were of no use, especially when they traveled back to the past and the life she had once led. There were days when she managed to stay in the present and other days she felt like only her body was stuck in reality, while her heart and mind were far away. That was mostly the case in the days leading up to the ceremony. It was soon time for it again and even the idea of it made Wanda feel like she couldn’t breathe.

Everyone’s got a name. His comment made her look up from the plate and her hand froze halfway up to her mouth. What an easy thing to say for someone like him, when in fact, she was not allowed to have a name anymore. In this society, she was not a person. She was a possession that was handed from Commander to Commander like a trophy, only that no one considered her anything special, unless she fell pregnant. Unfortunately that wasn’t all her doing and given she had birthed a healthy child before after four months in her old household, she assumed that Waterford wasn’t exactly capable of reproduction. Wouldn’t surprise her if Nicole hadn’t been his at all. The rumors about that were spreading among the Handmaids.

She chewed on her bottom lip, heart speeding up in her chest. A glance over her shoulder ensured that it was just them in the kitchen and no one was lurking in the shadows, because she knew that it was absolutely forbidden for her to speak of who she used to be before Gilead. And even telling him required an amount of trust she shouldn’t have in him, given they met two minutes ago. But life was too short to stick to all the rules, right? “Wanda”, she whispered. “My name was Wanda.” Her eyes dropped to the table, because they filled with tears. How stupid it was to cry over something as mundane as saying her own name out loud, but it had been so long since she had done it. All of her past just lives in her head and sometimes it felt like it had never been reality. If there was no one left out there who remembered you, did you truly exist? She had no one left, no friends, no family. just Luna somewhere out there in Gilead, who no longer remembered her aunt, because she had been so young when the Guardians had torn her from them on the truck. “Can I trust you?”

James watched as she glanced over her shoulder, clearly afraid of being overheard by the wrong people. But he knew for a fact that the Waterfords were both sound asleep in their rooms and Rita, despite her stoic demeanor that gave way so little, was on their side anyway; he’d only had a few conversations with her but was confident she wouldn’t rat them out. He wondered, briefly, if Wanda knew that there were people in this house (this neighborhood, this country) that could help her if she wanted it. The question he needed answering was does she?

Blue eyes remained fixed to the woman’s face as lips parted and a name was whispered into the space between them. Wanda. Tears glimmered behind dark lashes and James’ heart twisted inside his chest. Many lives had been made worse by Gilead’s rise, but to anyone who bothered to look closely, it was painfully obvious the handmaids had it the worst. Being stripped of their identity and made to submit in such cruel ways — it was barbaric. There was a reason Mayday wanted to see this country fall.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Wanda.” He whispered. How long had it been since she’d used that name? She was looking at him now through the tears and before he could tell her that she’s safe, a question was presented to him. It was so simple, but there was a weight to it he hadn’t expected, and it bore down on him with a relentless kind of force. Trust in Gilead was rare; hard to come by and even harder to keep and he was sure they — among many others — had learned that it was just easier not to. Sometimes the only person you could trust was yourself. It had to be especially true for the handmaids.

But here Wanda was, offering him this tentative connection, putting her own well-being at risk for the sake of... what? Having a friend, maybe? The thought only served to increase the ache in his chest. Maybe this was a chance to place faith in someone else for once in this god-forsaken place.

And so he replied: “Yes.”

PHEW, what a crazy couple of weeks. work has kept me so busy that I’ve had zero time to write, and even if I wanted to write I couldn’t because my muse has just been completely dead lately…. but I’m feeling alright today, so I’m hoping to use some of my time to undust my blog and get some stuff done.

I’m honestly thinking I might clear out my inbox and RP Tracker and trim down on some threads while I’m at it. writing has been hard for me lately and I’ve been overloading myself a lot trying to interact with new people and keep threads alive and just generally make other RPers happy. It’s feeling like it might be time for a fresh start (already? yes.)

also I’m considering making this blog mostly plot-based from here on out. It’s so much easier for me to do a thread when I’ve talked to the other mun before and we’ve worked out a plot to follow, and then I can feel comfortable pushing threads in certain directions without being like “oh god they’re going to hate it.”

so yeah, those are my updates (for now). I’m going to spend the day lurking in my drafts and inbox. if we have a thread that you want to continue but maybe make a plot for, feel free to shoot me a message! if we can’t come up with anything for a current thread, we can always start something new :)

again, sorry for being quiet this past week. I've been busy at work and today was my birthday so I spent the day doing.....well whatever I wanted xD I'm hoping my latest MCU rewatch will boost my muse and let me get some writing done over the weekend, till then I'll probably just be lurking on the dash here and on my main. my brain has not been working as it should and so I have gotten very little done. buuuuut I have another long weekend coming up in a few days so I’m gonna try to kick my butt into gear. I won’t be around at all tomorrow (it’s my birthday, yay!) or Thursday (double at work) but I’ll be around again on Friday :) in the meantime I’ll probably hang out on my main blog, since I’ve been neglecting that lately.
