“Some of Her Best Work” was inspired by an illustration called “A Morning Adventure with You” by @alphaofdarkness. In Rebels Season 1, Ezra showed Sabine where the stolen TIE Fighter was hidden, and Sabine created “some of her best work” when she spent the morning painting it and bonding with Ezra.
This is the first of four stories I wrote for the 2026 Star-Crossed Sabezra fanzine.

Summary:
Teenagers Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren are on an undercover mission to collect intel for the Rebel Alliance. Using the aliases “Riz Leman” and “Ria Talla,” they pretend to be a young couple touring one of the most popular art museums on an Imperial occupied planet. Ezra wants to flirt and make jokes on his “date” with Sabine, but she takes their situation more seriously in more ways than one. Security droids confiscated their weapons at the museum’s entranceway while Stormtroopers patrol the city. What could possibly go wrong?
Notes:
If you follow Eman Esfandi on Instagram, you might have seen his hilarious photos from his visit to the Louvre museum in Paris. (He was staying in the United Kingdom for the filming of Ahsoka Season 2 at the time.) Eman’s silly photos made me think, “Yes, that’s something Ezra would do, especially if he was trying to make Sabine laugh.” This was my inspiration for this fanfic.
“Riz” was the name of the character Eman auditioned for in the Ahsoka series. He later found out that “Riz” is actually Ezra Bridger.
As for Ezra himself, he hopes that the rizz is with him as he flirts with Sabine in this fanfic. 😆

Rewatched A Fool's Hope and just wanted to gush about all the Sabine and Ezra interactions. From their very first scene:

The next thing he knew he was halfway across the room, leaning on the very tips of his toes so that he could reach Sabine, hands thrown over her mouth to muffle whatever she’d been about to say next.
Or: When it came down to it, Ezra really thought he’d be the one who said the wrong thing.

I just needed to see Sabine and Ezra reaching out to each other after an intense mission; in their classic season 3-early season 4 designs. Doing the Keldabe kiss and saying “Cyar’ika”? 😩🤍 Ah, end me now, I’m on the ground, collapsed (人´З`)✨

THEY THREW TECH AWAY LIKE YESTERDAY'S TRASH.
And that's a hill I will willingly die on.
They killed him off for shock value, teased us at the end of S2 with the goggles, PLANNED for CX-2 to be Tech and teased us throughout the entire season...then scrapped it.
My husband is on the spectrum and everything about Tech reminds me of him, even down to the hairline and goggles/glasses. The info dumping, the sarcasm, the little fixations, even issues with communication (like in S1 when that one guy held out his hand for more credits and Tech just looked confused). Any time Tech said something sarcastic or sassy, I'd just look at my husband and go, "Oh hey, it's you!". Watching Tech die was like watching my husband die on screen. It fucking *hurt*
Then to just have his return teased like that...
Plus, during the fight scene with the CX clones, that discarded helmet with the red circle visor...that looked suspiciously like Tech's... Picked up and put on by a CX clone that promptly got killed.
Even my husband, who doesn't keep up with fan theories, was sure that CX-2 was Tech. (We were talking about that last night after we watched the finale, while I'm sitting there sobbing into my hoodie sleeve.)
I know it's not the fault of the writers, they're at the mercy of Disney, but it did sour season 3 for me.
I had a whole thing in the works about why it looked like they just tossed Tech aside, but so many of my faves and moots have written their own so I'm not gonna bother posting mine. @apocalyp-tech-a has a good one.
I'm sad. I'm salty. Watching that before bed cost me a lot of sleep.
Just...why? Why scrap him? That's all I want to know.
