The Three Times You Meet Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the Last: Obi-Wan Kenobi/Reader (GN)
Summary: You are the personal aide to Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan, training to one day perhaps take his place. These are the three times you meet the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the last. Pairing: Obi-Wan Kenobi/Reader; gender-neutral reader with no mentions of their appearance. Rating: MA, 18+ (Younglings, foundlings, and cadets, BEGONE!) The First Time
The onset of the Clone Wars brought change to your life, but you could not say that the life of a senatorâs aide had been calm or peaceful even before the war. Your every day had been filled with annoying red tape and patience-trying bureaucracy and general political bullshit. And that was all before you got to your real job, which was to handle any and all administrative needs for Senator Organa, as well as any research that needed doing for whatever reason or another, most often into mundane, long-forgotten Republic laws and policies. You even functioned as his representative if needed.
And this time, it had been needed.Â

Happy End
Obi-Wan x Reader
summary: You tried to reach out, tried to feel his calming presence and make sure that he was alive. You were met with nothing. Obi-Wan was dead.
warning: angst, post order 66 sadness, loneliness, crying, heart break, fluff, PadmĂ©âs funeral, death, did I mention angst?
You watched Ahsoka from afar, seeing how her cloak blew in the wind.
The scene in front of you was one you would never be able to get out of your head, one that would replay over and over again, reminding you of what had happened.
Your eyes roamed the helmets- the ones of your dear friends. The clones werenât just a war tool for you, they were so much more to the point you had considered every single one of them your friend.
You felt numb. You didnât even feel the cold wind blowing in the air, didnât even feel the sharp pain from the wound on your hand, didnât even notice how you were shivering.
Everything had happened so suddenly, so fast, that your mind didnât even have time to process the extent of what this meant.
There was no Republic anymore, the clones had turned against you, against every living Jedi on the galaxy.
This had not only happened to you and Ahsoka, it had happened to every single one of your friends.
You scrunched your eyes at the thought that was following. You didnât want to think about it, didnât want to even assume anything, however-
There was only a slim chance anyone else had survived.
Deep in your thoughts, you barely noticed Rex coming up behind you, barely noticed the cloak he carefully laid over your shoulders.
The smell, nonetheless, was too familiar. The moment it hit your nose, the tears finally began forming on your eyes.
Suddenly, you clung to the cloak, holding it as close to your body as you possibly could, never wanting to let it go again.
You turned around slowly, facing Rex and offering him a questioning look, but a faint smile nevertheless.
He tried to smile back, as best as he could, before he spoke.
âThe General gave it to me just before we were departing for Mandalore. In case youâd get cold.â, he whispered softly, knowing that this piece of information would most definitely make the tears that you were so desperately holding back flow out of your eyes.
And they did. They did at the mention of Obi-Wan alone. Rex didnât even dare to say his name, but at the mention of your master, you instantly felt your tears rolling down your cheeks.
Obi-Wan.
What about Obi-Wan?
You hadnât dared to reach out to him, not since everything that had happened. You had shut yourself off of the force the moment you had landed.
You didnât want to open your bond, afraid of what you might feel.
Or rather- afraid of what you wouldnât feel.
Rex wanted to console you, to tell you that he was sure your master was fine, that heâd be searching for you and that you two would finally admit your love before living happily ever after.
He truly wanted it, with every fiber of his heart, because you deserved it. A happy ending after this ever lasting war.
However, he knew there was only a very slim chance that Obi-Wan was alive, that he didnât want to get your hopes up, even though he desperately wished for you- one of his closest friends- to be happy.
âThank you.â, was the only thing you managed to say without your voice cracking too much.
You knew it needed to be done, but you couldnât bring yourself to walk up to Ahsoka, couldnât bring yourself to let go of the last things that could possibly remind you of your time as a Jedi.
But it had to end, everyone had to think you were dead, the Empire needed to think that you were dead.
You slowly and carefully walked up to Ahsoka, stilling when you were right next to her, not daring to look in her direction as you both let your lightsabers fall to the ground.
They landed on the ground with a silent thud.
This was it.
This was the end.
You nervously played with the necklace hanging down your neck, trying not to let your eyes wander to the lightsaber and the memories connected to it.
âYou need to reach out to him.â
You inhaled a sharp breath, not expecting Ahsoka to even mention him.
You turned your head to her, seeing her glossy eyes and exhausted expression. âI canât.â, you admitted quietly, defeatedly.
âThereâs a chance-â, she began.
âNo.â, you interrupted her. âNo, stop it.â, you continued quickly.
You caught her eyes immediately, letting her see the tears on your cheeks. âLook me in the eye and tell me that you think heâs alive.â, you demanded, knowing full well that she didnât think so.
âI-â, her voice broke at the end, dropping her eyes immediately. âI canât.â, she admitted.
After just a second, thought, a second filled with utter silence, she looked up again, catching your eyes once again.
This time, however, there were tears building in hers, too.
âIf you never try, and if heâs survived, youâll regret it your whole life. If anyone of us deserves love, itâs you.â
Love?
What was she talking about?
Yes, your love for him ran deeper than anything else, it consumed your heart, your whole body, your mind.
But he didnât love you. It had always been unrequited, always been one sided.
However, she was right. Youâd regret it your whole life.
Before you could answer anything, she had already turned around and walked up to Rex.
With a deep breath, you carefully extended your force presence, hoping that he would grasp it, send you a message and tell you that he was alive.
The only thing you were met with, however, was darkness.
You didnât want to give up. You didnât want to accept the fact that he might be dead, so you tried to reach out even deeper, tried to send him a message.
âPlease Obi.â
Nothing.
You werenât met with the calm presence of your master, the presence that would always, no matter the situation, calm you down and manage to mend your broken heart.
âI need you.â, you whispered, not noticing how the tears were now streaming down your face.
Once again, nothing.
The only thing you felt was the growing emptiness, growing loneliness in your heart once again.
This was it, this was truly the end of your happiness. Without your master, you surely would never truly smile again.
And when you opened your eyes again, when you were met with the helmets of the clones, all the feelings you had tried to bottle up came up once again.
You turned around shakily, trying to desperately wipe away your tears with your shaky hands.
But it was no success, your lip began trembling as you saw Ahsoka and Rexâs faces, filled with worry.
Rex came up to you first, engulfing you in a hug that normally always brought you comfort.
This time, though, it didnât even feel like anyone was hugging you.
You just felt so utterly alone.
âI canât feel him.â, your voice managed to say.
Ahsoka came up, too, joining your hug and trying to tell you that none of you were alone, that you still had each other.
âThis is it.â, she tried to reassure you, tell you that nothing else would happen, that the worst part was over.
Oh, how she was wrong.
Rexâs com link beeped and you and Ahsoka immediately stepped back, knowing that it could once again mean something bad.
âItâs a message.â, he whispered, his eyes roaming over the text slowly.
He shut it off before any of you could see it, looking up at you with glossy eyes. This was definitely not the end, rather the beginning of endless misery.
He gulped, hard, before he managed to whisper. âThereâs a funeral on Naboo.â
A funeral? Surely it wouldnât be for any Jedi, so who had-
âThe Senator of Naboo has passed away in childbirth.â
Naboo had always been the most beautiful planet in your opinion, if you would have ever decided to leave the Jedi order and settle down somewhere, preferably with Obi-Wan, it would have surely been Naboo.
Every time you thought of Naboo, only happy memories came up your mind, the times you accompanied Padmé and Anakin on missions, when you stayed there for a few days because Padmé needed you and Obi-Wan as her protection, when you and Ahsoka had decided to recklessly fly to Naboo without telling anyone about it.
This time, nonetheless, there was no beautiful sunset painting the sky, this time you couldnât hear any happy laughter, this time everything appeared dim.
It was as if the weather knew of what had happened, the fog and cold temperature that were unusual for Naboo were another indicator for that.
You only looked up for a second as you saw her being transported in a floating coffin.
She was completely still, her hair sprawled around her face.
Her curls were decorated with white blossoms, making her appear even more soft.
Her eyes were closed and her face looked pale, her red lips standing out. She was, however, still as beautiful as ever, wearing a peaceful look on her face.
Your eyes moved to her hands, they were laying across her stomach.
What didnât go unnoticed by you, was her pregnant stomach.
Tears rushed to your eyes as you realized that her child hadnât made it, that another life was lost as well.
Why her?
She was the kindest, most strong-headed, loveliest and most selfless person ever.
She was loved by everyone, as the sad faces of the Naboo population told you.
Everyone looked pained, looked as if they were on the verge of crying.
Before your eyes moved to the ground again, you caught something in her hand, making your breath hitch once again.
The necklace.
You remembered it.
You moved your eyes to the ground, trying to suppress your tears for the sake of everyone.
Anakin.
He wasnât at the funeral.
You didnât feel him.
Which could only mean that not only Padmé and her unborn child had lost their lives that day, but also Anakin.
Your heart hurt. You had lost your best friend. Ahsoka had lost her master and brother.
Your head whipped to her for only a second, you knew you two had to act as if you didnât know each other, act as if you were just normal people living on the planet.
Nevertheless, you needed to ask her that question.
âDo you think they ever got their happy ending?â, you questioned silently, hoping that no one had heard you.
âIn another universe, I mean. Do you think they ever lived happily on Naboo and raised their child, maybe multiple children?â, you continued.
Ahsoka couldnât catch your eyes, as they were covered by your- by Obi-Wanâs cloak.
âYes. I know they did.â, she answered you, completely honest.
âAnd so did you.â, she finished, walking away firstly.
Your mouth opened a bit, thinking about her words.
What did she mean?
You couldnât ask her yet, you needed to depart after her so no one would grow suspicious.
Ahsoka was trailing down the pathway, trying not to let the tears leave her eyes.
Everything was too much for her young heart, it all weighed her down so heavily.
Padmé and Anakin were like the parents she never had, she could always rely on them, knowing they would be on her side.
Her whole body froze when she heard a familiar voice.
âYou shouldnât have come here.â, Bail Organa stated honestly.
She stopped in her tracks.
âThereâs nothing you could have done.â, Bail continued. âFor any of them.â
She heard him step a little closer. âWhy risk it?â
She finally decided to turn around, pulling her cloak down.
She looked at him for a second, then proceeded to look at the ground deep in thought.
Why had she truly come?
âShe was my friend.â, she whispered quietly. âThey were my friends.â
Bail bit his lip for a second, thinking about how heavily this had, too, affected her.
Everything that had happened the past few days was way too much for him and anyone else to handle.
âAre you alone?â, he continued asking, a hope emerging in his head.
She was on a mission with you, which could mean that Obi-Wan was wrong and you could have survived, too-
âSheâs not.â, you approached them both.
Bail turned around, his eyes widening, but a smile appearing on his face.
You were not dead.
There was still hope for love.
He opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted when he heard voices-
âThereâs a patrol coming, you must leave.â, he decided quickly, but heâd go with you, at least to your ship.
He wouldnât let you go, not without telling you about Obi-Wan.
âWhere is your ship?â
âThe river.â, you answered quickly, knowing that it was too far away.
âThis way.â, he motioned for you two to follow.
You arrived at a balcony, the skyline of Naboo in view.
From afar, you could hear the waterfalls and see the mountains.
You leaned forward, trying to enjoy the view one last time, because you surely would never come back to Naboo.
Bail was mumbling something to Ahsoka, but you were too far away from them, just letting the wind blow in your face peacefully.
âWhat are you going to do now?â, Bail wanted to know.
âRun from the Empire. Hide. Thereâs nothing we can do.â, Ahsoka admitted, feeling useless.
âHere.â, he began, offering Ahsoka a com link. âIf you need anything, you can contact me with this.â
âNo.â, she answered him. âIâm tired of fighting.â
Bail nodded. âI know.â, he started. âBut still- we have a duty, an obligation to uphold.â
Ahsoka thought for a second, before she looked at the com link and decided to keep it.
âDo you have one for her, too? If we lose each other or anything.â
Bail breathed our deeply, trying to find the fitting words as to why he hadnât given you one.
âYou need to listen carefully.â, he whispered.
âI cannot tell you much, but her master is alive. The location of his whereabouts are on this com link. You should bring her to him.â
Ahsokaâs eyes widened immediately, a sort of relief filling her body.
âShe could have her happy end.â, she realized, looking at the com link once again. âHow do you know?â, she questioned.
Bail smiled sadly. âHe frantically searched the whole temple for her, he was devastated when he couldnât reach her through the force. Sheâs everything heâs been talking about. He was miserable, he thought she had died. I have never seen Kenobi so miserable, so attached. Then I figured it out.â
She knew it, it was obvious to everyone but you. Now, however, she got another confirmation.
Obi-Wan loved you.
Bail shook his head. âI thought heâd never get his happy ending, but I know sheâs the only person who could give it to him. That is if she returns his love.â
Ahsoka smiled softly, the first smile ever since everything had happened.
âShe does. More than anything.â
âI still donât know why you chose Tatooine as the first planet to settle down.â, you complained, the sun hitting your skin.
âAnd all of the sand-â
âYou start to sound like Anakin.â, she rolled her eyes at the memory.
You finally did smile, maybe not completely honest, but there was a faint smile on your face at the memory of Anakin.
Oh- how you missed him and Obi-Wan. You had cried the whole ride to Tatooine, Ahsoka trying to comfort you as best as she could.
âBut really, the Empire hasnât reached Tatooine yet, itâs safe in comparison to other planets.â
âBut itâs too hot.â
Ahsoka smiled softly at you. âThatâs why weâre searching for a cave to take a break.â
You were most certainly not going to complain when you would see who was in that cave, when you would be made aware of the reason she chose Tatooine.
âSee?â, she pointed at a sort of cave close to you.
âWhy wonât we ask the farmers over there for something to drink?â, you questioned.
Ahsoka shrugged her shoulders. âThey wonât give us anything, Iâm sure of that.â
She came to a sudden halt in front of the cave, seemingly looking at the com link in her hand.
You raised your eyebrows when you saw the Eopie in front of the cave.
âI think someone has found this cave before us. Letâs just turn around-â
Ahsoka all but dragged you by the arm, leading you through the cave.
You quickly pulled your arm away, but weâre stopped when you heard the distant sound of crying from the inner or the cave.
Why did it sound so familiar?
You looked at Ahsoka with a pointed look, as if to tell her that you were right.
However, your first instinct was to console that person. You were a Jedi after all. That person had maybe gone through the same as you-
You left Ahsoka standing behind you as you quickly moved forward, stepping into the cave and looking around.
It looked as if someone had just settled down here-
You saw someone sitting at the other end of the cave, the silhouette had his head hung low, and the crying noises came from them.
You stepped another step forward, probably making a noise as the man turned around quickly.
And when you were met with those blue eyes, your heart stopped.
You gasped shortly, before the tears began forming in your eyes.
Ahsoka had brought you here.
She had somehow found out that Obi-Wan, that your master, was alive.
Obi-Wanâs eyes widened. He thought he was dreaming once again, you were not standing in front of him, there was no chance.
You were dead. He couldnât reach you through your bond, there was no way that you were standing in front of him.
Oh- how beautiful you looked though. You might be a memory from his mind, but he looked away from your eyes to take in your appearance.
You were the most beautiful woman in this galaxy, the most beautiful thing he had ever dared lay his eyes on.
You were his whole word, his galaxy, and he knew his mind would never let him forget you.
His heart was broken ever since he found out about your death, he couldnât remember a second where he hadnât cried-
âObi.â, you whispered, taking in his appearance.
He was crying, the tears were rolling down his face. His eyes were red, his clothes had little burn marks in them. He looked beyond exhausted, like he hadnât slept a second in the past week.
However, he was still as handsome as he ever was, your heart beat as fast as it always did.
âLittle one.â, he answered.
No, you werenât real. He was imagining things, you were not-
He stood up quickly, trying to rub his eyes and being prepared for you to leave any second-
Instead, you ran forward and just engulfed him in a hug, sobbing into his robes.
And when he felt you, when he pulled you close to him and circled his arms around your form, he realized that you were truly there.
âI thought you were dead.â, you whispered through your sobs.
He quickly hid his nose in your hair, breathing in the scent he had missed so much, he had thought heâd never smell again.
âI-I couldnât reach you. I thought you were dead, too.â, he admitted, the tears falling down your hair, but you didnât care, he didnât care.
He slowly swept you off of your feet and circled you around, trying to prove to himself that you were alive.
And you were.
He let go with hesitation, not ever wanting to let you go, but he needed to see your face.
You were crying, but you were still as beautiful as you ever were.
He cupped your face with his hands, watching as you closed your eyes and melted into them.
He wanted to kiss you.
He had wanted to kiss you for so long.
He had you back, that was all that mattered. No matter if you didnât love him back, he would still love you and spoil you with small actions, showing you how much he cared.
He knew you didnât love him, but heâd love you for the both of you.
âI missed you so so much,â, you opened your eyes again and felt your heart slowly healing when you looked into his beautiful blue ones.
They reminded you of home.
He was home.
âYou canât even imagine how much I missed you.â, he emphasized, leaning in to leave a small but faint kiss on your forehead.
His lips were warm and soft, lingering maybe just a bit too long on your forehead.
You didnât care.
âI-I didnât feel you through our bond.â
You shook your head. âNeither did I- I tried to reach you, Obi.â
Obi-Wan blinked a few times, as if to remind himself that this was real.
âHowâd you find me?â, he questioned, pulling you close to him so his lips were only inches away from yours.
You felt his warm breath on your face and if youâd just lean in a bit, you would-
âWe were on Naboo. On PadmĂ©âs funeral. Bail Organa saw us and told Ahsoka about you.â
Obi-Wan smiled. Bail was truly one of the kindest people heâd ever had the pleasure to meet, and what he had done for him now, he could never give Bail anything close to this back.
His eyes lit up at the mention of Ahsoka, she was like Anakin to him, like his own apprentice.
âI thought Iâd never see you again. I thought I was meant for infinite sadness.â, he admitted quietly, however, you were now the one cupping his cheeks, declaring what he had waited for.
âI will never leave you again.â
You were throwing away the opportunity to go with Ahsoka, to live on another more pleasant planet because you wanted to stay with him.
Before he could say anything, before his shock had washed over, Ahsoka entered the cave and smiled.
With much hesitation, Obi-Wan let go of you and walked over to Ahsoka, engulfing her in a shot hug.
âThatâs what I deserve for matchmaking.â, she said quietly, only that Obi-Wan could hear.
âThank you.â, he answered honestly, because he truly didnât know what heâd do without you.
He instantly went back to your side, grabbing your hand as a constant reminder that he wasnât alone.
Ahsoka only smirked when she saw your intertwined hands, but didnât dare to say anything yet.
âI assume youâre not going with me?â, she asked you, already knowing the answer, already having known the answer the whole time.
You looked at Obi for a second, catching his eyes before you turned to Ahsoka. âNo.â
âBut why donât you stay here?â
Ahsoka smiled weakly. âThe force has other plans for me than for you.â
âIâm gonna miss you.â
âSo will I.â
Obi-Wan had made sure that you would never regret your choice to stay with him.
He found you both a job, bought a small but homely hut, made sure that you had everything you deserved to have.
Of course you deserved so much more, but he hoped you were happy with how it was.
And you were, truly, beyond happy
Because having Obi-Wan alone was enough for you.
He came up besides you and watched the sunset. It was truly beautiful. Maybe the only beautiful thing about Tatooine there was.
âI know I canât give you much, but I try my best.â, Obi-Wan admitted, his head hung low because he had just gotten fired from his job.
Fired because he took some of the food with him, knowing you loved it. He even left money, but they didnât let employees take anything.
You shook your head as you turned to look at him. âYou donât realize that you give me the world, Obi. I couldnât be happier.â, you told him, your eyes only holding honesty in them.
âYou do know why I do it, right?â, he whispered under his breath, not realizing that you had caught it.
âWhy?â
His eyes were widened when he heard your answer.
There was no going back now, you deserved to know that you were loved. He hoped it wouldnât make things awkward, but you already slept in the same bed, you already acted like you were married, he cuddled you to sleep every night, trying to show you his love in other ways.
He would always love you, even though you didnât return his sentiments.
âItâs because I love you.â, he whispered, so quiet that you almost didnât get it.
He closed his eyes for a second because he looked at the ground. âIâve loved you for so long. It may be against the Jedi code, but I canât help it. And you donât need to say anything, I just want you to know.â
He didnât see how your eyes lit up the second he said it, he didnât feel how your heartbeat increased, he didnât realize that that was what you had wanted for so long- you wanted him to love you.
How had you not realized? Why had you thought it was unrequited?
When you didnât say anything, Obi-Wan nodded slowly, before he walked away-
You caught his arm. âWait.â, you whispered quietly and without saying anything else, you took his hand and laid it on your chest, where your heart was.
You wanted him to feel how he made you feel.
âI love you too, Obi.â
The smile that came up his face was one you would never forget.
He was loved, someone loved him. Maybe he wasnât meant for infinite sadness, because he had you.
And without thinking, he leaned in and captured your lips in his, even while smiling.
And he did deserve a happy ending.
You both did.
âAnd how do you plan to deal with this delay, Lord Vader?â
tbh I really donât know how to headcanon obi-wanâs position in the empire if he was a sith. He would have more power over Vader (not necessarily by rank), thatâs for sure.
