tall statue like figure shields her from prying eyes as argument progresses louder and louder -- two souls desperately wanting to intertwine into one, searching for answers within one another. brows scrunches up together, awaiting for delicate touches of callous fingers darting over her cheeks, yet it doesn't come. instead she's hit with his words. drunken mind tries to wrap around his words, indicate whether he was being truthful. initial shock, heartbeat rapidly picks up, voice getting caught in her throat. "you l-love me?" manages to rasp out, taking her by surprise. but she felt it too -- from late night conversations to hang outs to that magical night where everything was perfect. where they whispered sweet nothings to each other that forever embedded in the back of her mind. did he mean it? did he really want all of her, does he really love her? inhaling deeply at his touches, missing the warmth that came from him. she's taken aback by the raising of his voice, eyes darting at the intensity -- icy blue eyes sends a shiver down her spine and as he escapes through the back door. only then did she realize there was an audience, red teary eyes torn from everyone's gaze. cheeks heats up in embarrassment debating on running out through the front or chase after hudson through the back. was she willing to lose him over something so dumb? slipping through the back door herself, she closes it. once her eyes locks with his again -- there's a more sincere gleam in her gaze, "do you mean it? are you in love with me? or do you just love me?"

it was impossible for her to move on from him so quickly, hurts to see his face wishing they could go back to a much sweeter place. one where things didn't feel as if it was crumbling down. the shared night was all she could think about up until the locker room incident, eventually leading her into thinking about his laughter, comments... wondering if they all did the same with their experiences -- if he shared their special moment with his teammates. leading her into a destructive path of overthinking, which turns to anger and then a pit of sadness. feeling like it's been a never ending cycle since overhearing conversations that she wasn't meant to. drowning in sorrows, she finds that alcohol consumption numbs out the pain, especially with him near, wanting to reach out and touch him -- yet the pain of her heart won't allow her to. needing to understand his true intentions, questioning his character when she knew deep down that he was a good person. he easily plucks the drink out of her hand, in the state that she was in -- it doesn't go unnoticed, yet she doesn't fight him. waves of emotions flutters across features as her drunken mind tries to comprehend words. eyes locks with his, scanning his features -- pleading evident in his gaze. "how do i know that? how do i know that i'm not just another girl in the lineup?" voice cracks, not even wanting to think of the possibilities. desperately trying to understand him as her a hand lifts to smack him in the shoulder. "how do you expect me to know that the one night we shared together meant as much to you as it did to me?"
