The atmosphere subsided from its tension; finally the room was filled with warmth and an abundance of love and affection. It was a gradual but noticeable change perhaps for the both of them. Neither of them had it in them to complain about it as long as what ailed Jonathan had been resolved. All in all, they had finally found a comfort within each other. They could not be one without the other -- they were nothing away from each other. They created two halves of a cohesive whole. Dio Brando and Jonathan Joestar had rewritten what destiny had in store for them. Together they were able to fight against the tide and conquer the merciless sea. Slowly but surely, Dio felt Jonathan calming down and reverting back to their romantic ardor. A kiss here and there… It sent shivers down the blonde’s spine. Warmth once again coursed through his veins and Jonathan’s body brought nothing but an endless supply of tranquility simply by their skin touching. Dio could bathe in this, this moment, this very second. He soaked in all of Jonathan. All of the Joestar that loved him without reserve, an unconditional love to him, one that he returned without hesitation.
Dio had fallen in love with the moon and all of its stars throughout the night and the radiant sun throughout the day. Jonathan was everything; he became everything that embodied the good in this world. Something that Dio had not been aware of until he realized the seeds that Jonathan had planted within him blossomed into beautiful flowers in his ribcage and surrounding his heart. He felt Jonathan’s presence everywhere, from the blood that flowed through his body and the veins and arteries that filled his body. Jonathan enveloped Dio in something he could not explain, nor he did he need an explanation to begin with. He welcomed Jonathan in every reach of his heart, to his very core he allowed Jonathan to venture into. It was something he had never done for anyone in his entire life, and he wasn’t to do it for anyone else for the rest of his days. All he needed was Jonathan right here, right now. To the end of his days and into any life that would follow as well. For Jonathan, he would endure it all.
Who knew that with Jonathan Joestar he would create something beyond his wildest dreams? It was never something he had ever put thought of until their first shared kiss together. From then on, it was as if he were gripped by the Joestar in every shape and form. However, he did not mind it. To share this kind of thing with Jonathan was something he no longer minded. It was home; with Jonathan he had finally found a place to call him. The thought comforted Dio, something he had never been able to live in his life. Hardship filled his life since birth but to finally be freed of that burden now was something he could feel burning away simply because he was able to love, and be loved in return. As if all of his worries finally had been stripped away all thanks to a single person in this world. And of all people it was Jonathan, the one who was able to calm him and bring peace to him from everything that ailed him. For once, he felt serenity. His solace was here with the Joestar.
Jonathan covered Dio in kisses, they were genuine and apologetic. There was nothing to apologize for… Absolutely nothing. As long as Jonathan was okay now, that was all that mattered. That was all that mattered now… Jonathan believed in his words, relief wafted throughout his entire body. From here on out, nothing would tear him apart from this, nothing in this entire world would take Jonathan from Dio. He placed his hands on both sides of Jonathan’s head. Gently he held his head, keeping their foreheads together. Dio kept his eyes closed, breathing in all of Jonathan and letting it all sink in. Even in silence he felt himself becoming more and more enamored with the Joestar. He was safe here. Simply being with him brought him the greatest joy when words failed them.
Truly, deeply, and genuinely… This was the man he wanted for all of eternity.
The future that once seemed brim became bright and full of possibilities as long as he had Jonathan beside him. Dio smiled to himself. Perhaps it was one of the most genuine smiles that he ever had the chance of having and here it was, with this man. This man… No, not just this man… Jonathan. Dio left gentle kisses on his lips, his nose, his cheeks, his forehead, and back once again to Jonathan’s lips. His lips were the only ones worth craving… They were intoxicating, he wanted more and more of Jonathan… Dio would never get enough of Jonathan, so forever he would stay by his side. Everyday he would learn something new about him, something more to love. It was almost disgusting how much Jonathan changed Dio so quickly and on such short notice. But no longer did he hold conflicting feelings on the matter anymore, what was becoming of their unconventional union finally began to yield answers. Those answers were not made with words but with actions and that made them all the more powerful for the both of them. Everything was beginning to fall into place for both Dio and Jonathan. Tears welled up in the corners of Dio’s eyes… He was crying? Crying. However, he was not unhappy. They were merely tears of happiness. Here and now he did not have to think about the what if’s or the buts anymore. This was something that no longer required thought because it all came naturally without protest.
Dio’s lips lingered against Jonathan. Lightly on his lips he whispered, “…I love you, Jonathan.”
