Dominic is born whike shes engaged and her family almost gives him away to an orphanage but his father swoops in and takes him but tries one last time to convince his mother to run away with him before the wedding and it doesn’t work out 😔🥀

The town doctor, Dominic (the non-vampire), has been taking care of Ezra after an accident he has while hunting, in which he was infected with his vampirism.

They realize he needs to eat from a human (these vampires need to eat flesh and blood), and Dominic begins feeding Ezra with his own blood to at least satiate his hunger. They eventually become closer and work to find a cure.

Dominic realizes that he has feelings for Ezra but struggles with letting himself accept them and act on them because of his religious background and internalized homophobia. He’s also 100% willing to be vampire food because of those same feelings so he ironically has a dream/nightmare of opening up to Ezra and him reaching his heart but literally (and it’s a little bit suggestive/intimate because I mean cmon it’s about his sexuality lol)

Your art is so cool and I love your piece on Dr James Barry for TDOV…but I really have to tell you that the image your based your drawing off isn’t Dr James Barry but a different man called Joseph Barry who lived in South Africa at the same time. It’s a really common mistake to make as the photo is often mislabelled – there’s even a book with it on the cover and the author had to correct herself afterwards.

These are all good images to use of Dr James Barry – the first two are definitely Barry but the third is only most likely Barry.

Anyway, once again I loved the art and best wishes for the weekend!

“James Barry was a military physician and surgeon in the British army originally born in Cork, Ireland in the late 1700s. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh medical School and served in many different parts of the British empire, and rose to the second highest rank possible in the medical office of the British army. He became famous for performing the first c-section where the mother and baby both survived the operation in Africa.

James Barry lived his entire adult life as a man and despite his instructions to not uncover or examine his body once he died, a servant did so and he was outed, posthumously in the press. The British Royal army and medical community attempted to bury his files and erase him from history and even today when he is discussed he is still referred to as female at times.”
