Steven Universe is providing little more than a collection of writing prompts and being heralded as an amazing and deep show just because a bunch of far more creative people can write 50 pages based off those prompts

This is something most fandoms can’t grasp and why hinting at character development is the easy way out for a lot of shows. Steven Universe hints at something interesting about a character and just fucking leaves it there. The fandom speculates, concocts elaborate theories that delve into layers of intrigue and then concludes that because of all the speculation that Steven Universe is an amazing show. Did you see what just happened though? Rebecca Sugar is getting all the credit and praise but the fans are the ones doing all the real work; they’re writing elaborate story ideas that the show will never even try to use but she’s getting all the credit for it. - Lily Orchard (x)

Allright, just a little over two hours!

Just watched the first 10 minutes and everything is spot on. I don’t understand how you could argue with any of the points made except for them just not bothering you. Damn. Still love the show though ;-)
