Video Extract of the installation LEO'S CAR, part of the FLAT SPACES SERIES
Year of completion : 2014
Duration : 30 sec.
Referring to the methods of creation of virtual materials and textures in 3D representation, I tend to combine the different materials present in a space (here an car) into one flat medium. Interested in developing a dialogue between space, material, color and content; I use here traditional methods, such as painting, weaving, crushing, infusing or dyeing to exact the essence of space into the flat silky surface.
The paintings draped, pulled or hanging from the space; stand between sculpture and painting. Extending from the pavilion’s ceiling, these flat spaces appear as site-specific interventions, interacting with the singular architectural space of Stadtumbau.
Installation part of the Flat Spaces Series that took place in the Staudbauhau, ZKU Berlin. Project in collaboration with Studio Osk, Laure Jaffuel and Jakob Hohmann.
