One of my favorite places is the British Museum in London where we are able to appreciate huge amount of exhibition gathered from around the world. This spacious white room is for exhibition of reliefs.

Shield Machine

This is a part of a shield machine displayed as a sculpture in Umihotaru parking area in the middle of Tokyo Bay. Compared with the height of the man standing next to the sculpture, you can see how big it is.

Pincecones

As you know, the word "bokeh" (the blurred quality or effect seen in the out-of-focus portion of a photograph) comes from Japanese photographic term. I guess another Japanese term "yuru-fuwa" will become popular in the near future. This term is comprised of two words; that is, "yurui" and "fuwari". Basically, "yuru-fuwa" is used to convey a soft and relaxed atmosphere, and "yuru-fuwa" photographs have similar characteristics such as bright tones, low contrast and low saturation, as shown above photograph.

From the Pleiades to Sirius

I shivered when taking this photograph on a cold winter's night. However, I was very excited because the sky was completely clear from clouds and the stars blightly shined. The atmospheric transparency made me feel as if a door to the outer space opened on that night.
