There's no reason not to just come up with a new name! The look isn't the same, the story isn't the same, the interaction with people isn't the same. So just call it something else! It's insane that so many people are resistant to just using a different word if it means helping to prevent talking over indigenous communities.
Don't even get me started on people that sexualize it. What they are sexualizing isn't really it, but the idea that they'd use the word to describe their sexual interest is so disturbing.

I think we should all get way more normal about harm reduction. Not just in terms of sh or eds (donât get me wrong those are important too) but everything.
Obviously recovery from is the end goal, but the truth of the matter is that some people are not ready to recover, and forcing them to do so in almost all cases will make things far worse. And Iâd rather have people be engaging in a behavior in the safest way possible rather than isolating them and shaming them for not instantly jumping to full and complete recovery.
I hate the push that you can quit addictions by pure willpower because it perpetuates the idea that people who can't have committed a moral failing of some kind. We all may know some people who did quit an addiction cold turkey, and with no aid, you may be one of them. And that's fantastic, but it is not the norm. It is more than okay to need help to quit an addiction. Relapse is also part of the process. Many people relapse several times before they are able to quit for good. Let's have compassion.

Hi guys I recently had a run in with a pedophile who was posting child pornography, please donât call the police thereâs not a whole lot they can do in situations of tracking unless itâs in your home state! And they donât have a department that deals with blogs.
Instead call 1-800-843-5678 or fill out a form for cybertipline.com , they reach out within the same day and deal with these assholes all the time. They will contact you if they need more assistance or if theyâve resolved it! The police department redirected me to the hotline and will do so in every situation unless itâs local. Stay safe!
