… I don’t really care so much ‘bout you bringin’ it back to m’flat so long as it ain’t a bunch of fuckin’ loud dogs. Bartendin’ sounds good. don’t really think you need school. Maybe a permit?
-Though, really, Amir should probably consider the fact that she has far less opportunities right now than he does. If she wants to actually find something she’s not going to have much luxury of choice. But he’s never claimed to be above selfishness.
He puts an arm around her shoulder and scratches her scalp a bit, intend on playing with her hair, but then she goes and throws that last suggestion in the air and he immediately pulls himself back-
That’s not funny.Â
-She’s trying to push his buttons again—he’s not stupid, he knows exactly what she’s trying to do. And yet… she’s still so capable of ruffling his feathers. Amir crosses his arms, to his credit only slightly tense-Â
That really the kinda business you wanna get into? You ain’t graceful, you’d fall off the stage your first day. AND they’d make ya wear girly clothes.Â
But I mean sure if demeaning yourself is your bag go right ahead.Â
I’m jus’ fuckin’ with ye, sheesh! Nah need t’ get yer panties in a bloody twist. *Granted there’s offense in her tone, she also says it with a hint of mockery — maybe not so much hint if her grin and consequent chuckle are any indication. She pokes him around teasingly.* But ‘ey, thanks fer tellin’ me what ya think a’ me; really fuckin’ encouragin’. I didn’t take ye as th’ kind ta be such a jealous ass, either~ *She actually loves that, but cannot explain why and doesn’t care to admit it for that very same reason. It’s a first, too. When it comes to fuck buddies, at least… She can only hope it doesn’t mean what she suspects it means. … Nah. That’s ridiculous. But it’s the dreaded time to take things seriously again. The albino leans back in her part of the couch, then seconds after croses her legs Indian style.* How th’ fuck do I get a permit, tho’? ‘cause I do have school diplomas an’ shit — however useful they can prove t’ be in this case. *She probably said something dumb already, but as always she doesn’t care. Erika scratches her chin.* I’m tellin’ ya, I could get money throu’ simple crap in th’ meanwhile. Maybe like, ehh —*Gestures as if she were throwing something at the air.*— those kids who ride bicycles and throw newspapers. Or maybe a maid! I imagine they can get paid real good.
-It's only after he's reacted emotionally that he regrets it, which only solidifies his embarrassment. You'd think for a man that boasts his intelligence as often as him (because, you know, he's a fucking genius) wouldn't fall in such easy traps.Â
But Amir's definitely smart enough to know why he lets himself fall into them. He can only lie to himself for so long before it becomes borderline insulting. That doesn't mean he needs to say it out loud, and especially to her. So he offers her nothing more than a bemused snort at her comment about jealously and unceremoniously pulls her into his lap-Â
Bitch do I look like a fuckin' magic eight ball? I dunno how you go 'bout gettin' a permit--I'm not even a bloody American. But, ya know, go to the library or even a bar and ask the person workin' there.Â
-God damn. He's fond of her, no mistake about that, but she can be pretty dense sometimes. Amir shakes his head and gives her ass a squeeze before gently pushing her up so he can worm away and go into the kitchen-Â
Why don't ya go buy a paper and look up some ads? They also got, like, temp agencies. They help people find jobs.Â
-And he returns with a five dollar bill and stuffs it right into her bra-Â
Keep the change sugar tits. You might need bus fair.Â
Good.Â
-He doesn’t put up a struggle when she pulls away, though his arms feel empty and he’s forced to cross them to compensate the sensation (or maybe to just ignore it’s presence). Whether or not she’ll enjoy the view from his window will depend on whether or not she’s keen on heights, because his apartment is stupidly high off the ground.Â
He likes to feel tall. Fuck off-Â
Pet sittin? -Amir scoffs and flops down on the couch- Well fuck, sweetie, aren’t you just aimin’ for the stars. Come on there’s gotta be somethin’ else you’re good at! Or somethin’ equally as mediocre but there won’t be dogs shittin’ in my flat.Â
Think hardah then that!
-See, look at that grade A support right there-Â
*It’s a nice sight, overall; if anything a bit vertigo-inducing. But you know, she can’t complain. At least she’s properly living somewhere.* Aich, fine. I’ll make th’ effort fer Mr. Ambition here. *With that said, she walks towards the couch with a smirk and plops down on it by Amir’s side. Such smile is eventually erased, however, as she crosses her arms and frowns in thought.* … I know a bit ‘bout newspaper shit. Magazines too — stuff like that. Though I don’t think it could be actually useful. *Erika crosses her legs.* Maybe… Bartendin’? I’m social an’ know, like… A fuckton ‘bout alcohol. *Not really.* I mean it can’t possibly be that complicated. Ye also don’t want me t’ bring th’ job here in yer flat, aye? Could work. … Either that, or I could go as stripper. *She’s not serious, but she’s trying hard to look like she is.*
... I don't really care so much 'bout you bringin' it back to m'flat so long as it ain't a bunch of fuckin' loud dogs. Bartendin' sounds good. don't really think you need school. Maybe a permit?

I’m sure you’ll find something so long as you don’t faff around with your fucking time.Â
-Granted Amir is oblivious to Erika’s lack of professional experience (with the exception of professionally blowing people to pieces). But even so he wouldn’t be convinced that she couldn’t find a job in the midwest metropolis of Chicago. He just hopes she’ll actually put the effort.
Because her presence is a danger to him, and her question is a reminder of such. And it’s a reminder of the risk he’s taking. But Amir’s good at convincing himself that he’s right and justified. Now isn’t an exception-Â
… No. I’ve got the place secured, and I’m actin’ like a proper employee at work. I’m too good to be caught, babe!Â
-And so it’s hardly a risk at all keeping her with him. And that’s exactly the lie he tells himself-Â
So long as you don’t get into any big trouble. Because then we’re both in trouble. You get what I’m sayin?
-She’s pretty damn groovy, but she’s not groovy enough to get killed over. Or worse. Fired- Â
*Erika snorts, but whether she admits it or not, Amir’s right. He knows her very well… Either that, or she’s just hard to picture actually working. Both feel like correct assumptions.* Hmm. Guess that’s a relief. *’Guess’ because —and speaking of lying to oneself— she would say the researcher has nothing to worry about, but the albino can’t even trust herself to behave. Though maybe, just maybe, it’d be different this time around. That’s, at least, what she likes to believe. She’s actually bothering to put effort into this, god damn.* But yeah, yeah, I get it. *She lets go of him and decides to soothe her nerves by looking through the window.* I can… Picture a job or two I might be fit fer. … :1c Pet sitter can’t be that hard, aye? I mean I fuckin’ love animals, so…
Good.Â

manslaughter—united: Well I’d been savin’ up a bit, and they’re, uh, payin’ me pretty well -There’s no need to explain who he’s referring to. But he doesn’t outright say it, hypothesizing it’ll make her nervous- I’m gettin’ /paid/ to be a nerd. Heh. Livin’ th’ life, there. *While signs of discomfort don’t immediately show, she does chew the inside of her cheek to prevent making a face. The ex RED calmly turns around and rests her arms on his shoulders.* Feels good t’ be free… In a sense, at least. Oughta find a job soon after I figure out what I could be useful fer. *It doesn’t sound too sad for the one who never worked in her life up until the moment TFI grabbed her.* Ya think they’d find out yer helpin’ a fugitive someday?

Alright so this is a heads up to some of my followers!
After some deliberation I’ve decided to pull a good number of my characters from TF2. That’s not to say they won’t exist in the TF2 universe. But they’re going to be pulled from the industry and attempt to live their lives as civilians. If I reblog this on a character that means they’re out. It’s very unlikely they’ll come back or interact with characters who aren’t escaping themselves (with the exception of characters they’ve already befriended).Â

‘Course you like the way I think.
-But he’s going to spare her from his infamous announcement of his intellect since he’s far too busy fondling her real like it could up and leave his hands at any moment. This is far more preferable to thinking critically-Â
Think this is ‘bout the time where I suggest we go back to somebody’s room—how ‘bout mine, hmm? Got some things in there we could play with. Some new gadgets you could say~
-The Engineer pulls away and gives one of her suspenders a fond little tug, letting the elastic gently snap on her shoulder when he lets go-Â
I should guy you some sexy clothes. This ain’t bad or anythin’ but you got some fuckin’ nice curves. I’d conquer worlds to see your fine ass in somethin’ tighter and skimpy.Â
Do ye, now? Heh. Sounds like a plan… So long as it ain’t robotic shit. *She couldn’t resist. Her cheeks almost hurt from smiling so wide, which is indeed fueled by the attention he’s giving to her ass. And as a brief response, Erika gives his jaw a little kiss. When he talks after pulling away, though, there’s a slight look of surprise on her face.* … Skimpy? *Does he means what she thinks he means? She believes so. Both brows go up as she thinks for a second or two about it, eyes finding the corner of the room very interesting. Hmm… Well.* We can… Try someday. *The Demo shrugs a shoulder. She’d say there are chances she might not like wearing that kind of stuff, but in this context it’s… Actually up to debate.* … Heh. Ye’d conquer worlds, eh?
Guess that’s a fair concern.
-In fact hurting himself would be quite necessary. But Amir has long since accepted that pain is a necessary part of discovery and achievement. But given what just happened he doubts she wants to hear that kind of thinking. So instead he indulges her hug and kisses her temple-Â
Mmm… yeah, you’re a regular teapot when you’re cranky.
-He wishes he could tell her it’s not something he’s serious about, or that it’s something he doesn’t plan to do for a while. Which is strange because he shouldn’t feel the need to check her feelings. Either way he doesn’t say anything, just kisses her again. This time lower, between her neck and shoulder, and with a bit of teeth-Â
How ‘bout we forget ‘bout it? ‘Cause I can think of a few ways to distract ourselves.Â
*She smirks quietly at the kiss on her temple, closing her eyes.* Gotta teach them fuckers who’s boss ‘round here somehow. *While that doesn’t free her mind from worry, it’s a bit more relaxing to know he’s not mad at her again. And, well, she guesses she can’t really stop him… It still weirds her out how much she cares about his safety. I mean yeah, he’s her friend, but… Those thoughts leave her mind, however, and her grin widens at the next kiss. The albino traces a finger up and down his arm.* Yeah? I think I like th’ way ye think, lad~.
'Course you like the way I think.

There's a letter waiting in Amir's inbox today. A very surprising occurrence considering he never gets mail (minus the packages and magazines he buys himself and the occasional letter from the company). This is from the company as well... but the Engineer can tell it's not some standard update on weaponry or Mann Coo. Gear.Â
Upon plucking it out from the box he makes a mad dash to his room, shuts the door behind him and hugs the thing to his chest like a kid on Christmas. Then he opens it up:Â
Mr. Amir Kapoor,Â
While we appreciate your enthusiasm and ability to initiate conversation we, as representatives of Builders League United, cannot recommend your services to our development team without a more concrete example of your engineering abilities and comprehension. If you can find a means to do this we may consider allowing you a presentation to our teams. Until then we strongly advise you stop spamming our mail boxes with letters.

...Â
Well... that's not a no at least.Â
But it seems like he's going to have to focus on those projects after all.Â
