Dorky sketches! Introducing Kevin, also known as QuetzalcoatlâBillâs dead brother. Xolotl and Quetzalcoatl are twins in some Aztec myths, and I decided to draw on that.
In my headcanon, Bill and Kevin are two self-forming twin entities from another dimension, known as Xipherilex/Xipheril and Quezralphael respectively (or at least, thatâs as close as humans can come to pronouncing their names). While they technically formed at the same time, Bill was also technically present first, as he is part of the void behind after one universe collapsed. Together they were immensely powerful, but Bill sought more power, and destroyed their home dimension, which he found boring, in order to rip into our dimension. Kevin, who tried to stop him from destroying their home dimension, followed him into ours in annoyance, and they discovered humans. They became gods, most famously Set and Osiris, Apep and Ra, andâmost IMPORTANTLYâXolotl and Quetzalcoatl. Thatâs where they were most comfortable being; although their continuous rivalry was immortalized in their respective ancient Egyptian gods, the appearance of those gods was not based off of them and neither were their personalities, they simple inspired the respective deities at one point. In Mezoamerica, they directly interacted with humans and became the gods themselves, worshipped as such. They fought continuouslyâBill hated being the lesser twin in the eyes of the people, and often tried to steal power from his brother. Quetzalcoatl finally got sick and tired of this BS, and ripped a part of him off and threw it into the sky, creating the constellation of the Big Dipper. That part of him happened to be the part he usually used as a separate construct to communicate with humans, known to them as Tezcatlipoca. Because they werenât from our dimension, their forms werenât technically physical, and when Quetzalcoatl created the Big Dipper with the Tezcatlipoca piece of Xolotl, they became physical forms that Bill could no longer access. This is what drove him insane, as we know heâs completely psychotic. He lost his mind and was largely erased from Aztec focus, which is why is most Aztec myths no one knows Xolotl even exists. He began plotting the overthrow of Quetzalcoatl, and they eventually clashed, fought, and Bill killed him. As he died, QuetzalcoatlâKevin, because Iâm fucking sick of typing thatâcursed his brother, that he would never regain the power he would inevitably lose until he was worthy of it, and that if he wanted to be worthy he needed to follow the constellation made from his own soul. Bill thought this was bullshit. He did not realize that Kevin was actually prophesying his future to a degree, cursing him to follow one set path, or that because they were twins, he was as good as powerless without Kevin. Kevin banished him from our dimension and into their destroyed one, and he was crunched into 2-dimensionality as a result of the rift slamming shut on him and Kevin dying. He was trapped their, only able to function in our world as a projection of himself, but his power waned and slipped away and soon he could only access our world through the mindscape, as a triangleâtoo weak to appear in any other form.
Weirdmageddon was his attempt to return to his full godly powers and regain his physical form as best he could. It didnât go as planned.
So have some Bill and Kevin! Kevin has three heads and the (usually) closed eye, while Bill has the wide open eye and the triangle faces. One picture has Bill cuddled with Dipper and below it is Kevin talking to Mabel. Iâll be honestâI ship those two.
