Maple Melody

Heyas! I'm Maple Melody, a unicorn mare living in Ponyville, you can probably either find me at the market selling maple syrup, maple treats, and maplewood trinkets or out at the park playing music with my hoof-carved flute and having fun with my friends. Anyways, was there something you wanted to ask me?

I mayyy have chipped a tooth over there after my first stumble... Luckily it wasn't broken on this side of the mirror when I came back!

Day 31: Bones

Happy Nightmare night everypony! With this done it's been a whole month of photography, I've had a ton of fun meeting with you every day to share. Now, there's always somepony out there who dresses as a skeleton for Nightmare Night so I was betting on that for today's photo. Even if not there was sure to be bony decorations on display somewhere in town, but look at this! I have no idea how she did it but she looks like a real moving talking skeleton, I begged her to tell me what spell she used but she was great at acting! I swear she looks like something straight out of O&O!

Day 30: Sleepover

This one took a bit of planning but I knew I had to have a whole room full of friends for a prompt like 'Sleepover'. Look at all these familiar faces, from top to bottom we have Umber Echo, Paint Bucket (Though I asked her to wash the paint off before getting near my bed, hehe), Silk Sherbet, Lemondrop Comet, Amaryllis, Trail Winder, her pet squirrel Chestnut, Gypsum, and of course little Mango Juice. Leave it to the bats to gum up my plans of taking a photo of everycreature sleeping (I had to pretend to sleep for so long before this!) but it's still a great keepsake.

Turns out taking a Ponlaroid is actually kind of loud in the middle of the night, so most of them woke up immediately after this haha. Bucket and Silk could sleep through an earthquake though, I swear they must be blessed by Luna.

Day 29: Billow

With fall cool chasing summer heat of course the weather ponies need to use a lot of clouds this time of year. I hiked up one of the hills outside town to get a better shot of the towering buildup this evening, there's always such artistry around here in the mix of wild Everfree weather and our own pegasi shaping the systems around it. In fact I think I might spy somepony who slipped into my photo as I'm writing this..

Day 28: Maze

Of course I had to go to the corn maze for today's prompt! I wandered around for a while until I felt sufficiently lost and snapped a photo. Now I just have to find my way again, how hard could it be? I guess I could always just teleport home if it gets too bad, haha! But I'm no cheater, I'll stick it out.

Too bad they already harvested all the corn from the stalks though, I could go for a snack..

Day 27: Attic

As far as I knew I didn't have an attic, but my home has a peaked roof so there had to be at least a little space up there. I didn't really think much about it til now but this prompt made me curious. After a little bit of magical investigation I ended up teleporting myself up there and I think I see the issue, haha. No wonder they didn't cut an entrance for this anywhere, the saw's still waiting right here. Too bad it's all rusty now..

Guess I have a new space I need to clean, but what should I even do with it? I've been so used to the amount of room I already have..

Day 26: Pie

Before I could even start my day this morning there was a banging at my front door. I went to grab my camera on the way, just in case, but I couldn't find it? But guess what? Standing at the door was Pinkie Pie with my camera in hoof and this photo at the ready. She said she was sorry that she didn't know how to aim my camera in reverse (whatever that means) but her pinkie sense was telling her she needed to do this or the day would be ruined. I don't really get it but I think we've all come to accept that in Ponyville, it's more fun this way.

I really need to ask her where she got this film at though, it's so pretty??

Day 25: Strange

Another day where I just kept my camera in my saddlebags, but that was the plan from the start today. I took a photo of the first strange thing I saw, which happened to be when I went to ship off a package at the Ponyville post office. I'm used to our mailmare Muffins, but why is there a griffon and a dragon crowding around the counter too? I think the griffon seems familiar, she said her name was Gabby, but nopony knew anything about this dragon courier? Called herself Mara and acted like she owned the place. Poor Muffins seemed just as lost as I was, but I'm hoping my package still makes it out safely.

Day 24: Leaves

One of my favorite little fall traditions I've brought to Ponyville is fried maple leaves. Yep, they're edible and delightfully subtle! But to make them truly shine you need a specific species and a lot of patient prep time. These leaves were harvested from one of the two Neighponese maple trees I've grown in my grove, and I cured them in salt before I cooked them in a light batter following their local festival traditions.

One of the most popular ways to eat fried maple leaves (besides steaming fresh from my market stall) is alongside tea and good company at a tea party or the like, and of course who else but Rarity to reserve a whole box of them to be picked up for just such an occasion? She's definitely one of my most loyal customers during the months where I offer these more refined treats, hehe.

Day 23: Tangle

Today was another one of those "Carry my camera around all day until I see something" kind of days. I was getting a little concerned I'd have to make something happen on purpose when I finally walked by Trixie, sorry, 'The Great and Powerful Trixie' practicing a new trick. I really don't see how she's getting out of this one, but she refuses to ask Starlight Glimmer for help so there was nothing stopping me from snapping a photo of the scene despite her sour mood on the subject. I didn't stick around to see how it turned out, but I figure Starlight caved to empathy sooner than Trixie's pride.

Day 22: Mushroom

The best place to find mushrooms is in the forest of course, so I asked Trail Winder to take me to find some in the Everfree. Being the local forest guide, she knew just what areas to look and we didn't even run into any monsters. She tells me these are called chicken of the woods, though I don't really see the resemblance myself. I guess they must be pretty desirable though, cause she was really excited and gathered them up as soon as I took my photo.
