Thank god. She was going to avoid that conversation like the plague. Or lie like hell. She was terrible at that though; she hard needed to lie and more so no in person. He wasn’t going to like the answer. Not at all.

“‘Date’?” cue an eyebrow going up faintly but she was going to put it down soon enough. “I didn’t know this was a date but you do have that right. There would be no second chance.” She was going to clasp her hands behind her while they entered through the park gate. God New York was all hustle and bustle even now but the park was a nice little escape.

Speaking of escape there he was prying. Half truths seemed to be their thing. “You could say both. I do my work but sometimes I would rather be out. And here we are,” she was going to keep walking,looking straight ahead. Hopefully he would not pry more than that—she had a feeling he might. “What about you? How come you were so ready to go out?”

"Friend date. Those things exist y'know." He said, grinning and throwing a wink her way. "And it's way less of a mouthful than an 'acquaintance date', right? I mean," he lowered his voice just a bit to add on, "we did end up hunting together then getting coffee afterwards. Even if it technically was 'getting in each others way', but still!"

Once she started walking, he followed and slipped his hands into his pockets. "Hah, don't we all?" Seems like playing it vauge was her way of answering. Maybe he'd be able to get her to go more into specifics. We'd see. "Me?" He shrugged and glanced over at her with a smirk. 

"Worked all day down at the garage and no work tomorrow. Why be cooped up all night when I've got time to do that tomorrow? Plus," he wagged his eyebrows like the 'charming' dork he was. "Couldn't pass up an opportunity to be round you, June."
