Recently watched the amazing spider-man staring andrew garfield, the best one, and thought that Peter is such a james variant! Sooo here u have my take on the spider man au!
I have a nothing here, I promise it's fluff, kind of soft wolfstar, I didn't re-read it after writing because it's late, I'll fix it and post it on ao3 probably tomorrow but well
625 words of soft wolfstar and no title because I have one brain cell and it's not working
"Sirius?" Remus kneels down next to them with a soft smile on his face. "Sirius, what's up?"
They had run away from the dinner table and Remus decided to look for them after waiting for about an hour. He already knew where they'd be, they always go to the river next to their cottage when they're feeling upset, they say that the sound of the water and the smell of the trees help ground them.
They have some tells from when they're upset. That's the first one: running away to be alone in the forest, as if they're trying to become one with the Earth. He looks to their feet just to be sure. Barefoot. As always. Remus speaks softly. "Sirius, it's cold."
"I know," they answer equally softly, pointing at the fallen leaves from late autumn and early winter. The whole place is a mix of colours. Brown, yellow, orange… It's a beautiful time of the year, when all the leaves have fallen and created an auburn blanket over the ground. "Feels good, though."
"You're going to get sick."
Sirius huffs a small laugh, a lovely sound, really. Sirius' laugh is as smooth as they are, their voice feels like velvet in Remus' ears. "We don't get sick from feeling cold."
"Right, but you still might hurt your feet, the cold can burn you."
They roll their eyes and don't move, making Remus sigh and sit down next to them on the fallen tree trunk. They feel cold to the touch, but he decides against mentioning it, he knows they know they're feeling cold, but they probably need it.
They fall quiet, listening to the running of the water and the wind howling through the trees.
"Sirius, what happened?"
"The forest looks nice this time of the year, doesn't it? It's calming."
"It is…" He smiles, remembering all the good times he and his friends lived in that forest. It's been a while since they were all together. Too long for his liking. He sighs and speaks with a strained voice. "You miss them, don't you?"
Sirius lets out a pitiful noise that makes Remus' heart clench, it's almost like a whimper and he just knows they'll cry soon. "Every day."
"I do too."
"You do?"
"Yeah, nothing's the same without them, is it?"
They shake their head, resting their head on Remus' shoulders and releasing a shaky breath. "Will it get better? Can we just go on without them here?"
Remus smiles sadly and shakes his head, kissing Sirius' forehead. "It'll be fine. We'll be fine."
"I miss them, Moony."
"Pete's visiting us in a couple of days, focus on that, yeah?"
"I love him, Remus, you know I do…" They don't have to finish their sentence, he knows what they mean. Peter is a marauder and a best friend, but Peter's not James or Regulus. Peter's a best friend, James and Regulus are family. Blood or not, they're the only family that never betrayed them.
"It'll be fine, Sirius, I promise it'll be fine." He sighs. "You get used to missing the ones you love. When all that's left is the memories you have, you need to stick with that. If that's all you've got, then you need to focus on that."
"But Moony, it's… I can't. I can't."
"Sirius, love, you have to, that's all you can do," he kisses them tenderly, a small kiss just to show them he's there. "Besides, they'll be back soon."
"It's a month. A month, Remus."
Remus laughs softly. "James said he'll be here before the full moon, it's only two more weeks."
"But, Moony–"
"It's their honeymoon, Padfoot. Let them enjoy it, I'm sure they miss you too, but let them enjoy each other for a while."
