Clay never met his secondary family, not until Angela's funeral. He was very Retracted but one of the ladies, Angela's sister, approached him.
Arthur left him under her care after a little back and forth with other acquaintances. Clay felt uneasy at the start but soon he grew attached; Auntie was a widow, her husband had died a few weeks ago and they never had children, this attracted clay.
Auntie was very touchy, she used her husband's death to "bond" with clay and used him as a replacement for her nonexistent children, and husband. She poked him a lot and played it off as a "family game"; her own mother used to poke her, she played with her own sisters like that, there was nothing to worry about.
This went on and on until clay turned 16

ALSO uh a little off topic but I hc that in Angela's funeral, the two kids and man we see in the back could actually Clay's cousins on Arthurs side!! I think it makes sense because they also seem to have similar facial features and the brown hair and all that, JUST WANTED TO POINT OUT
