“I don’t even notice the smell, honestly. I think at some point I became immune to dumpster stink.” he chuckled “Which maybe should make me worry about if I’m walking around smelling like that.”
“Well, clearly, if you live here, you’re going to get used to the smell.” When the other asked if he picked up the smell, Harris held up a finger and leaned in to take a good whiff. “Nope, you’re good, but give it a few hours.”

“Oh that’s awesome. I’ve never been to Colorado, but I have heard good things.” He nodded with a smile. “Yeah maybe she doesn’t want to be tempted.” Damien said. He didn’t really party much himself, just drank and occasionally got high, but he could respect someones decision to not want to be around it. “Totally. They wouldn’t have a problem with it.” He assured.
“Oh, dude, you have to go to Colorado. The weather’s nice, the nature’s beautiful, John Denver wrote a song about it,” he joked with a small laugh. “It is very tempting after all. Especially when it’s in a pastry or something? Whoever came up with that is a genius.” Once they got to the taco place, he held the door open for Damien. “We’ll definitely have to exchange numbers over our munchie meal-- or my munchie meal.”

Cash grinned up at the familiar face, laughing at the joke. “Oh, y’know. I figured I’d get the most creative muse surrounded by my people.” he gestured to the dumpsters, before shaking his head “Really I just wanted somewhere outside but quieter than out front and less windy than the roof”
“Ah, yes, well, you know what they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and you are definitely treasure,” Harris joked, tossing in the two bags he had. There was definitely no treasure in that. “Well, I guess if you can handle the smell, this is the perfect place. But, you did say these were your people after all.”

Cooper just laughed slightly. “Good to know.” He said about sleeping in the back. Leaning against the counter, he rubbed his face slightly. “I mean it seems interesting. Could be good for me. I mean I need something for sure.” He shrugged. “So if this helps I would be down for getting more.”
He listened to his customer nodding eagerly. The store was thankfully rather empty right now, so he didn’t feel like he had to be rushing around, and he could actually stay and talk. “Oh, of course. If it helps, I can definitely get you a box of it.”

“Awesome. It’s honestly been a while for me.” He replied, partly because he had been trying to live the legal life and partly because he couldn’t really afford it. “Maybe she doesn’t like the smell?” He guessed with a shrug. “We could always smoke at my place. My roommates don’t care.” Damien offered. “Yeah, well lets order some then.” He said, holding the door open for him to walk in.
“Dude, we’ve got, like, everything back in the apartment-- I mean, I brought a lot from Colorado,” it also doesn’t hurt that Maddox had been growing it at the shop. “Yeah, I guess the smell isn’t for everyone, but like, from stories I’ve heard about her, she used to party... So maybe she’s trying to stay sobered up now,” he answered himself. “Oh? They would really be cool with that? I may take you up on it.” Harris walked in with him.
Cash was sat on the concrete right outside the back of the apartment complex, guitar in his lap and a couple tattered notebooks scrawled out in front of him. He eyed the garbage dumpsters with squinted eyes as he played, humming along the same bit over and over again, convinced there was one bit that just wasn’t right. Finally, just as he noticed a nearby door open up, he got the mix perfect, pulling the pen from behind his ears and reaching to scribble something down in one of the notebooks.
It was garbage day in the Hatfield-March household, and so, Harris was coming outside with two giant bags of trash. As he walked out, he spotted his friend and smiled, “Oh, hey, Cash! This is... Definitely a place to be writing.” For once, he was completely sobered up. There was something about his best friend’s brother nearly being murdered that did that to a man. He tossed the garbage in the dumpster and walked over. “Any reason you chose to be down in the dumps?”

Cooper shook his head. “No I don’t drive. I wrecked a truck and my brother refused to let me ever drive again.” He laughed a little. “Okay but if I get sleepy you’re going to let me take a nap in the back right?” He joked as he picked up the cookie and took a bite. “How long till this kicks in?”
He nodded as the customer described what happened to his truck in the past. Harris had luckily never been in a car wreck before. “Oh, duh, you can totally sleep in the back. The cookie will take about thirty minutes to an hour to kick in, and the tea is about the same. What do you think of it all so far, sir?”

Cooper just nodded as he talked trying to take it all in. “Okay. I mean, I definitely need something.” he said with a bit of a laugh and licked over his lips. He took a sip of the tea eyeing the cookie. “Am I supposed to eat the cookie?” He asked curiously.
He tried to think of how Maddox usually sold the cookie without the customer knowing about the cookie, “It’s got some of the same stuff as the tea, you know. Makes you feel really relaxed. So, if you want it, knock yourself out-- Oh, you didn’t drive did you? Because some people like fall asleep or get drowsy from this kind of thing it’s so relaxing.”

Damien laughed and shook his head. “Chill dude. I’m not going to rat you out or anything. Especially if you’re willing to share. It is kind of obvious though.” He pointed out. ‘But maybe I’m just good at recognizing the signs.“ He said with a shrug. "The taco place is just up here. They have a chicken and waffle taco, which sounds kinda weird, but it’s totally delicious.”
At the promise of not ratting him out, Harris took on his more relaxed posture once again and laughed, “Yeah, guess it is a little obvious. But, okay, I’ll definitely share with you next time. The apartment is stocked right now, but... Maddox hasn’t really been letting me smoke there lately? Something about in case Alice visits.” At the mention of the chicken and waffle taco he gasped, “Oh, that would go great with a root beer float.”

Owen lifted his brows but stayed quiet, getting distracted by a few other blends along the way. Reaching forward, he picked one up to inspect the back of the box, nodding at its contents before he moved to the counter. “And Maddox is…the owner?” He inquired, nodding at the box the other had suggested. “Yeah, that too.”
He grabbed the other box requested and set it up on the counter, logging onto the register to prepare to ring this man up. “Well, technically we’re co-owners. The difference is he has a horticulture degree and I just really like tea,” Harris stated, scanning the first item. “So, do you, like, have insomnia or something?”

“Slee-bee?” Owen remarked, his eyes crinkling up at the sides in an unknown emotion. The name was clever, but it was much too cutesy for him. However, he was about ready to try anything, so he followed the other, his lips set in a downturned expression as he did so. “Is that the strongest stuff you’ve got?”
“Yeah, Maddox is obsessed with giving teas punny names. He’s the brains behind all of this... I just run the numbers,” he joked. When asked if there was something stronger, he glanced over at the box of tea that was infused with CBD. Something which was legal to sell. He picked it up and offered it over, “If you need to relax, yeah?”

Owen had started to poke around when he heard a voice. He whizzed around quickly, lifting a hand to scratch at the back of his head before clearing his throat. “Uh, hi…” he began slowly, stuffing his hands in his pockets. “Do you have anything to help a sleepless night? Or, in my case, life?”
“Oh, dude, we got you way covered there,” he stated before gesturing him to the counter and reading over Maddox’s notes on what helped with what. After all, Maddox was the expert on all of this and the one with the degree in this sort of thing. “Oh! Okay, yeah, you’ll need our Slee-bee tea. It has honey infused and stuff.” He grinned and walked to the aisle with it before grabbing a box.
Most days, Owen didn’t leave his apartment. Most people came to him when they wanted him, and that’s the way he liked it. But he hadn’t been sleeping—not that he did anyway, but this was different—and he’d heard about a tea shop not far from the building. Strolling into the place now, Owen paused by the door, his bows furrowing at the options around him.

Harris was in charge of stocking that day since Maddox was in the hospital with his half-brother. Thankfully, they’d found another employee otherwise he’d be running around actually stressed for once. Instead, he was able to keep his calm and cool demeanor. When he spotted the customer, he smiled, “Hey, welcome to Positivitea.”

Damien chuckled at the others reaction. If he wasn’t stoned he had to be on something. “Yeah ok dude. I can eat quite a bit too, even when I don’t have the munchies.” He said with a smile. Damien moved to turn down a street. “Taco place is this way.”
Harris’s jaw dropped when the other mentioned the munchies, and he stopped in his tracks. “Wait, dude, who said anything about the munchies? I totally don’t have the munchies.” He followed once again though at the promise of the tacos. “I’m just, like, really tall or something and get really hungry.”

“Does it really mater what it’s called? Maybe I can get a drink named after me sometime.” He replied, wondering what it took to get that to happen. “Eh I’ve mixed some stuff, but I haven’t done that. You don’t want a float anymore?” He asked with a chuckle.
The reminder of the float stopped Harris in his tracks. That was what he left for. “Okay, but hear me out, we get the tacos then go to the burger place. I may not look it, but I always have a huge appetite. So, honestly, I wouldn’t mind doubling up my order.”

Cooper just nodded a bit. “Um yeah I have a lot of anxiety.” He mentioned before glancing over at the other. “Oh I mean, do you think it helps?” He wasn’t really super sure but he figured this guy would know.
A lot of anxiety. Harris knew exactly what to do. He grabbed the promised box of tea and set it aside before grabbing a bag of it and pouring hot water over it in a cup. “The first time you have it, it’ll feel stronger than it actually is,” he warned, grabbing one of the special cookies to set on the side of the plate. “Best way to calm down though in my opinion... Used to live in Colorado.”
