“Dude, we’ve got, like, everything back in the apartment– I mean, I brought a lot from Colorado,” it also doesn’t hurt that Maddox had been growing it at the shop. “Yeah, I guess the smell isn’t for everyone, but like, from stories I’ve heard about her, she used to party… So maybe she’s trying to stay sobered up now,” he answered himself. “Oh? They would really be cool with that? I may take you up on it.” Harris walked in with him.

"Oh that's awesome. I've never been to Colorado, but I have heard good things." He nodded with a smile. "Yeah maybe she doesn't want to be tempted." Damien said. He didn't really party much himself,  just drank and occasionally got high, but he could respect someones decision to not want to be around it. "Totally. They wouldn't have a problem with it." He assured.

At the promise of not ratting him out, Harris took on his more relaxed posture once again and laughed, “Yeah, guess it is a little obvious. But, okay, I’ll definitely share with you next time. The apartment is stocked right now, but… Maddox hasn’t really been letting me smoke there lately? Something about in case Alice visits.” At the mention of the chicken and waffle taco he gasped, “Oh, that would go great with a root beer float.”

“Awesome.  It’s honestly been a while for me.”  He replied, partly because he had been trying to live the legal life and partly because he couldn’t really afford it.  “Maybe she doesn’t like the smell?”  He guessed with a shrug.  “We could always smoke at my place.  My roommates don’t care.”  Damien offered.  “Yeah, well lets order some then.” He said, holding the door open for him to walk in.

Harris’s jaw dropped when the other mentioned the munchies, and he stopped in his tracks. “Wait, dude, who said anything about the munchies? I totally don’t have the munchies.” He followed once again though at the promise of the tacos. “I’m just, like, really tall or something and get really hungry.”

Damien laughed and shook his head.  "Chill dude. I'm not going to rat you out or anything.  Especially if you're willing to share. It is kind of obvious though." He pointed out. 'But maybe I'm just good at recognizing the signs." He said with a shrug. "The taco place is just up here. They have a chicken and waffle taco, which sounds kinda weird, but it's totally delicious."

The reminder of the float stopped Harris in his tracks. That was what he left for. “Okay, but hear me out, we get the tacos then go to the burger place. I may not look it, but I always have a huge appetite. So, honestly, I wouldn’t mind doubling up my order.”

Damien chuckled at the others reaction.  If he wasn’t stoned he had to be on something.  “Yeah ok dude.  I can eat quite a bit too, even when I don’t have the munchies.” He said with a smile.  Damien moved to turn down a street.  “Taco place is this way.”

“Y’know, Nagini, Monty the Python, Rumplesnakeskin,” she gave some examples and smiled, waiting to see if he was entertained by any of them. She nodded. “Good,” she said, happy that he felt he could handle it on his own and did already have some of what he needed. “So we’re good then? We don’t have to move out anytime soon?” she asked, checking for understanding and remembering how the conversation started. She hoped he’d calmed down mostly now.

“That’s true.  I do like Nagini.” He said, chuckling at some of the other options.  Damien let out a sigh and nodded.  “Yeah I guess not.  I still don’t trust it, but I’m going to leave it be for now.  I can’t promise I won’t start something if he pisses me off though.” He pointed out.

“There’s a technical name for it. It’s the Arnold Palmer, but I don’t know who that is,” Harris laughed as they exited the building and he hoped they were walking the right way to the burger joint. “So, like, you probably did those mixed fountain drink challenges yeah? Where you get a shot of everything from the fountain– Shit what if we got tacos instead?”

“Does it really mater what it’s called?  Maybe I can get a drink named after me sometime.”  He replied, wondering what it took to get that to happen.  “Eh I’ve mixed some stuff, but I haven’t done that.  You don’t want a float anymore?” He asked with a chuckle.

“Yeah, we do. So don’t worry your head about Owen, okay?” she made sure he understood her. “A snake would be cool, yeah! I’ve got loads of name ideas for a snake,” she stated with a small grin on her face. “You’ve still got the old tank for it, right? And all the lights? Just the animal itself and starting food shouldn’t be too horrible if that’s the case. I can help you out as well if you need it,” she offered. He was probably sick of her offering things, but she couldn’t help it sometimes. She wanted her best friends to have everything they needed or wanted.

“I’ll try, but I make no promises.” He said with a small smile.  “Oh yeah, like what?” Damien asked, wondering what kind of names she could come up with.  “Yeah I think so.  Somewhere.” He said, trying to remember where he’d put that.  No, it’s fine.  I’ll figure it out.” He said, with a shrug.  He’d need to research first and figure out what the store had and what would be the best option.

He pondered the question before responding, “I can never get it sweet enough. There’s a method to it a lot of people that live around here don’t know. Like, seriously, if I get told to add sugar to my cold tea even one more time and people expect that to make it sweet tea… You’re better off mixing tea and lemonade by the time it’s cold.”

He couldn’t help but laugh at the other’s problem.  “I don’t really have that issue.  Oh I think I’ve had tea and lemonade mixed together before.  It was pretty good.  I’m not that picky with my drinks.  I’ll drink just about anything.” He shrugged.

“Sweet tea!” He grinned brightly. “Dude, I love sweet tea. My dad used to make the best when I lived back in South Carolina– miss that stuff. Sometimes, I try to make it in the tea shop, but it never goes well.” Harris shook his head and continued to walk alongside the other to the burger joint. “But, nah, the shops aren’t super common.”

“Oh you lived there?  That stuff is everywhere down there isn’t it?” He asked.  “You can’t get it sweet enough or too sweet?”  Damien asked, wondering what it never goes well meant.  “I didn’t think so, but then again I’m not an expert on tea of any kind.”

“It can be anything, but seriously, once you learn to go with the flow,” he exited the elevator once it reached the first floor, “you can really learn what the world has to offer.” It was his own way of saying to ignore your own fate and choose another. “Oof, really? I mean, I guess some couples do look related, so I can see it happening. Wait– you’ve never been to a tea shop? Dude, they’re super common… I think. I just know Maddox loves it.”

“Words of wisdom huh?” He asked, with a chuckle.  “You’re not wrong though.” Damien shook his head.  “No I mean I didn’t see him he just mentioned a guys name and I assumed boyfriend for some reason.  So like instead of guessing that Maddox might be your boyfriend, I asked.”  He tried to further explain.  “Are they super common?  I don’t know I don’t really drink tea other than cold sweet tea.” He shrugged.

Maybe he would convince Maddox that they needed to sell floats at the shop. Were tea floats a thing? He could make them a thing. “I love being spontaneous. Life’s just a big adventure, so why not just jump into it?” Harris asked, giving a little hop in the elevator for emphasis. “Who’s Maddox? Only my best friend and roommate. Seriously, no one’s better than him. We run a tea shop together.”

He laughed and nodded.  “That’s a good way to look at it.  You really never know what life is going to throw at you.” Damien shook his head when the other literally hopped into the elevator, following after him.  “Yeah I’ve never met a Maddox and last time I assumed a brother was a boyfriend so I figured asking was easier.  That’s cool.  I live with my two best friends.  Wait a tea shop?  Like you sell tea?  I didn’t even know that was a thing.”

“Dreaming is how I get through my days, so I can’t dock you points for that.” He was smiling now, his fingers twining and resting on his flat stomach. It wasn’t often that he and Damien got to sit together and just talk. It was nice. “I am absolutely not going to that party,” he laughed, looking back over at him. “That sounds like a terrible time. Why? Are you going?”

“Exactly.  It’s nice to dream even if you know you’ll never get to that.” He replied with a smile.  He laughed at the others response.  “What?  Don’t want to see all the people in their bathing suits?” Damien asked.  “No.  I have to work.  Not that I really want to go anyways.  The pool is probably going to be packed and I don’t think there will be enough alcohol to deal with it.” He chuckled.

Thomas shrugged. “Oh well he hasn’t exactly told me how it is going. ” he said with a laugh. “Oh I’m not worried. I just let life slide off my back. It’s easier that way.” He looked him over. “Sorry I don’t know when to shut up. Nice to meet you though. ”

“Well maybe you should ask?” He suggested with a shrug.  Damien wasn’t honestly invested in this guy’s brother’s happiness, he was just making conversation.  “I totally agree.  No point in getting all emotional about stupid shit.” He nodded.  “No it’s fine, it’s amusing.”

Jack smirked slightly lips moving down his jaw. “For being too damn sexy and thinking you’re hot shit.” He joked and moved back nudging his nose back. He was honestly getting to invested.  “So you going to blow me or nah?”

Damien tilted his head slightly to give the other more access.  “Well if that’s the case, I guess I’ll never get out.” He said with a grin.  “What’s the magic word?” Damien asked.

“Isn’t it just ice cream and a soda? I mean, I wouldn’t know because it’s not like I make them, but,” Harris shrugged. As they walked along, he pressed the button for the elevator. “Hey, anytime. I’m pretty good at decision making,” a lie, he usually followed someone else’s lead. “I think Maddox and I moved here a few weeks ago. We haven’t been here long, really.”

"Yes, but it's about the ratio of soda to ice cream. It might also matter which you put in first." He shrugged. "Yeah? I'm fairly good at it too, but sometimes I like to be spontaneous." Damien generally had a plan or could fairly easily come up with something which was good at getting him out of trouble. "Oh? Who's Maddox?" He asked, learning from last time not to just assume a significant other, but he also didn't want to assume brother either.

Jack just rolled his eyes knowing exactly what game Damien was playing. Problem was it worked well on him. It was exactly what attracted him to the other in the first place. He didn’t want someone that he could push around. He wanted someone that fought back. He turned, grabbing his shirt and pulled him in for a hard kiss. “Why don’t you blow me, before i put your ass in some cuffs and take you downtown to a nice cold cell.”

Damien made a noise against his lips, kissing back.  His fingers immediately moved up to run through Jack’s hair.  “On what charges, officer?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.  He nudged his nose against Jack’s.  Damien loved giving Jack a hard time, but he also didn’t mind being bossed around sometimes.
