When your guard instructors tell you that your tosses look like trash
Plot twist: The school gives the band proper funding to replace uniforms older than the sophomores.
Second Plot Twist: The uniforms aren't a decade old by the time they're replaced.
me: *inhales*
me: oh, yeah...it smells like
me: MARCHING SEASON
And now for a piece I like to call: “Winter break is almost over and I still haven’t touched my instrument”
Non-musician: Wow you’re so talented!!
Me: What can I say,
I am
Plot Twist: triangle, quiet down, we can’t hear the trumpets
(kidney) he took it because the other ones were broken and he wouldn't let me use it even tho it's like assigned to me n shit
:(
Plot twist: the director, while covering a part, actually admits that they messed up instead of blaming someone/something else
Hey, so I'm a guy who recently joined color guard and I really love doing it! I don't think I've ever had so much fun doing something but I feel really self conscious and I feel like it's holding me back because people are making fun of the fact I joined. Any tips to overcome this?
DudeColor guard guys are literally the most fierce people I have ever metYou guys have the strength to manipulate your equipment however you want it, and you make it look effortlessYou have the strength to not just carry your equipment throughout an entire show, but to also spin, toss, and exchange it dozens of times while running through sets, performing choreography, and giving that crowd life through facial expressions, body language, and overall performanceDo not ever be ashamed to be a male color guard member.
Plot twist: an Indiana competition that doesn't happen in Indianapolis or a cornfield
But isn't Indiana literally just Indianapolis surrounded by corn fields?
My music theory teacher about tuning: When in doubt, pull it out.
ay yo its the kidney infection anon lol i just get the shittiest section leaders our new one stole my euph
Wait whatDon't all section leaders steal their section's instruments?
My band's director was fired at the end of this year (which was actually a good thing he was a piece of shit and played favorites a lot). I was super excited about the new guy bc he's low brass main. I'm a trombonist, but he's thinking of making the trombones play baritone/euphonium. I won't quit band, but I don't want to stop doing trombone, and I'm not sure how to feel about all this. Any advice?
You should definitely voice your concerns to him. There may be others in your section that feel the same way, but you need to step up and let him know what you’re thinking.
Someone: Hey do you have any funeral-appropriate clothing?
Me: Sweetie I’m a musician my entire closet is funeral-appropriate.
